Chapter 357: Chapter 268: Idol of the Myriad Maidens of the East Sea Country (Part 3)

The once exquisitely decorated, luxurious dining hall was now completely unrecognizable. The reed mats on the floor had been rolled up, and in their place stood a simple table and a stool.

On the table sat an enormous pot, from which steam curled up, carrying the rich aroma of meat.

A man sat at its center, devouring his meal.

His chopsticks were a blur, carrying piece after piece of beef to his mouth in a constant stream. Every so often, he would shovel in some rice or take a bite of flatbread.

For the two young women, who had undergone strict aristocratic training since childhood, his table manners were simply unimaginable.

The shock to their sensibilities was immense.

Yet, far from being repulsed, the two women were utterly captivated.

This was especially true for Takizawa Sayon. Finally seeing her idol in person, she was trembling with excitement.

She finally understood why her friend had been so excited.

Because this Master Wu was far more handsome than his portrait.

Even the way he devoured his food was a delightful sight.

By comparison, Takizawa Sayon couldn’t help but recall lunch with her cousin a few days prior.

The mere thought of his pretentious manners was nauseating.

At this moment, Yokoyama Daisuke and Ota Masayuki also noticed the two young women who had suddenly burst in.

Yokoyama Daisuke’s eyes widened. He glared at his daughter, wishing he could immediately berate her and send her away.

But with Wu Liangchen present, he didn’t dare say a word out of line and could only force himself to hold his tongue.

Wu Liangchen, however, seemed completely oblivious, continuing to devour the meat.

Finally, Wu Liangchen had eaten every last scrap of beef in the enormous pot.

And "every last scrap" meant not even the broth was spared; Wu Liangchen had sopped it all up with his rice and flatbread.

When he was finished, he looked up and glanced at Yokoyama Misaki and Takizawa Sayon.

Both women flinched. It was as if his eyes held hidden blades, making it impossible to meet his gaze directly.

Then, Wu Liangchen stood up and said to Yokoyama Daisuke, "Are you sure those Folangji merchants went to the Imperial Palace this morning?"

"Yes. I’ve had my men look into it. It’s the absolute truth," Yokoyama Daisuke said with a nod.

While Wu Liangchen had been eating, Yokoyama Daisuke hadn’t been idle. He had sent men to gather information on Yangxian Hall and learned that its members had entered the Imperial Palace that morning.

"Good." Wu Liangchen nodded, then strode toward the exit.

Just as he reached the dining hall’s exit, Takizawa Sayon, mustering courage from who-knows-where, suddenly shouted.

"Master Wu, I like you!"

The shout left Yokoyama Daisuke and Ota Masayuki dumbfounded, while Yokoyama Misaki was filled with regret.

’How could my friend have beaten me to it?’

So she immediately shouted, "Me too!"

Wu Liangchen was also somewhat surprised.

’Are all the women of the East Sea Country out of their minds?’

So he glanced back at the two of them.

Takizawa Sayon’s face flushed with excitement. She took a step forward, about to speak, but Wu Liangchen had already turned away. With a single bound, he leaped onto a tall building dozens of meters away. After gazing for a moment toward the distant Imperial Palace, he leaped again and vanished.

This entire scene was witnessed by Goda Shintaro, who had just arrived at the Yokoyama family estate.

He trembled, the pearl powder on his face flaking off as he muttered in utter shock.

"Wu... Wu Liangchen?"
