Chapter 353: Chapter 267: Controlling the Port, Heading to Kyoto

At first, no one noticed him move. Even if they did, they likely assumed he just had something to say to Ota Masayuki.

It wasn’t until Wu Liangchen walked straight past the screen and approached the table that a drunkenly hazy Yokoyama Daisuke looked up at him, a flicker of displeasure on his face.

He couldn’t understand how a man of Ota Masayuki’s status could employ such a disrespectful guard.

However, not wanting to spoil the festive mood, he turned to Ota Masayuki, clearly expecting him to remove the insolent guard.

Just then, a hand suddenly clamped down on his head. An immense force followed, instantly slamming his face into the tabletop.

Amid the CLATTER of falling tableware, the nearest dancers screamed.

The commotion immediately alerted the guards outside the screen.

But before the guards could even rise, Wu Liangchen’s men, long prepared, had already sprung into action.

Flashes of cold steel glinted, followed by splatters of blood.

The room erupted in a cacophony of screams, thudding bodies, toppling screens, and overturning tables and chairs.

But just then, Wu Liangchen’s cold voice rang out, "Halt."

His voice seemed to carry Magic Power; the raucous room fell silent in an instant.

All eyes turned to Wu Liangchen.

"What do you want? Release Lord Yokoyama, now!" a fiercely loyal guard roared.

Wu Liangchen was unmoved. He said coolly, "If you want your lord to die right now, by all means, keep shouting."

"All of you, shut your mouths!" Before the guards could respond, Yokoyama Daisuke, pinned firmly to the table, yelled out.

He struggled to shift his gaze to Ota Masayuki, who stood to the side.

"Ota, what is the meaning of this?"

A guilty look crossed Ota Masayuki’s face as he whispered, "His name is Wu Liangchen!"

No more explanation was needed. That name alone explained everything.

Yokoyama Daisuke and all his guards were struck with horror.

By now, the name Wu Liangchen was legendary in the East Sea Kingdom.

Among the nobility, especially for someone in Yokoyama Daisuke’s position, the name Wu Liangchen was spoken of in hushed tones—a name that was all but forbidden.

After all, his demonstrated power and potential for growth were simply too astonishing. Combined with the battle in the Great Yan capital, the high command of the East Sea Kingdom had naturally become extremely wary of him.

His sudden appearance sent a chill through Yokoyama Daisuke’s heart. He knew it was over.

If he could sail a giant ship here, it meant the navy must have suffered a major setback at the Huangpu Guard front—or had possibly been annihilated entirely.

Upon hearing that the man before them was Wu Liangchen, his guards abandoned all thought of resistance.

The one who had just shouted at him in particular went deathly pale, his entire body trembling.

"Now that you know who I am, you’ll cooperate. Understood?" Wu Liangchen said, looking down at him.

"Yes, yes! Understood!" Yokoyama Daisuke said hastily.

Wu Liangchen finally released his grip. Yokoyama Daisuke gasped for breath, feeling as if his neck had been on the verge of snapping.

Although Wu Liangchen had only pressed down casually, the force was more than a pampered man like him could bear.

But this was no time to dwell on that. With a bitter expression, Yokoyama Daisuke asked, "What business brings you here so suddenly?"

"Simple. I want to know where to find the Folangji merchants who sell firearms to your East Sea Kingdom," Wu Liangchen said, getting straight to the point.

Yokoyama Daisuke was taken aback.

He had assumed this God of Slaughter had come to the East Sea Kingdom for some clandestine purpose, but it turned out he was merely looking for the Folangji merchants.

"Don’t know?" Wu Liangchen asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"I know, I know! They’re at Yangxian Hall in Kyoto," Yokoyama Daisuke said in a panic.

Wu Liangchen looked at Ota Masayuki.

"He’s likely telling the truth," Ota Masayuki quickly explained. "Yangxian Hall was established by the Monarch specifically to house exceptional individuals from around the world. The Folangji merchants would certainly fall into that category, so it’s not surprising they’d be staying there."

Wu Liangchen then proceeded to ask many more questions about the situation in Kyoto.

Though Ota Masayuki had already briefed him on these matters, Wu Liangchen, ever cautious, wanted to corroborate the information from a different source.

Yokoyama Daisuke, of course, held nothing back, telling him everything he knew.

By the time Wu Liangchen had finished asking all his questions, Yokoyama Daisuke’s pudgy face was slick with a greasy sweat, and his eyes were filled with terror.

He didn’t know what fate awaited him now that he had answered.

He repeatedly shot pleading glances at Ota Masayuki.

But Ota Masayuki could only offer a wry smile and a slight shake of his head, signaling that he could barely save his own skin, let alone help him.

"I’m giving you two choices," Wu Liangchen said suddenly. "One: come with us to Kyoto. Two: I kill you right now."

"The first one! The first one!" Yokoyama Daisuke cried, afraid Wu Liangchen hadn’t heard him clearly. He thrust a finger in the air and shook it vigorously.

"Good. Pack your things. We leave immediately," Wu Liangchen ordered.

’He hadn’t killed Yokoyama Daisuke because there was no point. It was far more useful to have him under control.’

’The same went for Bobin Port. He’d seized control of it simply to secure an escape route.’
