Willow City

"If that’s all, then I’m leaving. I have some work to do," I said to him.

"If you want to see me, you can pick a place in any of the satellite cities," I added.

After saying that, I brought him outside. Magic Lord Duncan appeared outside.

He was shocked by Master Vincent’s spatial treasure again. He looked at Master Vincent and thought he must have important work to do.

He then nodded to me. I nodded to him in response before leaving the place.

Swoosh!

In the blink of an eye, I exited Willow City through the airspace. I was heading toward the border now.

On the other hand, the Elder of Willow City and the other officials had heard the news.

They sighed in relief. Everyone saw someone wearing a mask exiting the city through the airspace.

Shortly afterward, one more figure exited Willow City. The person was none other than Magic Lord Duncan.

Time passed.

I reached the border town in less than an hour. Creek City was not far away from here. No one at the border checkpost stopped me.

The news had traveled here as well. I exited the border town and headed toward Creek City.

It was the first time I was leaving the border town after becoming a Magic Lord.

"System, keep a watch on the surroundings," I said to the system in my mind.

Then I continued flying toward Creek City. On the way, I saw a small group of wizards on the ground.

They were traveling wizards. I came across a small market and stalls belonging to the wandering wizards.

The market was not that big, but the place was very close to the border. So, the place didn’t have a problem with robbery.

Meanwhile,

A middle-aged woman dressed in black wizard robes walked out of one of the stalls. She looked in the direction Magic Lord Vincent had left.

She took out the scroll in her hand and poured mana into it. The next second, the scroll was engulfed in flames before turning to ash.

"The target has left the safe haven. It’s the right time for the team to take action," she thought to herself.

If they could take down the target, it would be a huge win for her faction.

A few minutes later,

I had crossed a hundred miles in a few minutes. I was just experiencing the flight ability, but my speed was faster than before.

I kind of liked the feeling of tearing through the air. Just as I thought of using the space layer, the system’s voice sounded in my mind.

[Ding! Multiple hostile wizards detected ahead.]

I heard the system’s voice in my mind.

"Hostile," my mouth curved into an arc.

I guessed it was going to be my first fight. Manager Lara was right with her guess. The letter of plea was nothing but a trap.

When I covered a hundred meters more, I saw black dots coming toward me. Seeing that, I stood in mid-air.

I looked around the surroundings. It was a barren land. There were no other people passing nearby.

Swoosh!

In a flash, the dots became visible. The appearances of the wizards became clear.

They were all wearing masks on their faces. They were five Magic Lords dressed in black clothes. Three of them were male, and two were female wizards.

I observed their attire. It was similar to the clothes worn by wizards in the seafaring nations. It gave away their identity directly.

They had surrounded me from all directions.

"Magic Lord Vincent, it’s nice to see you here," one of them spoke.

"Who are you guys?" I asked.

"We are from the Covenant," one of them said.

"Our faction was waiting for you to appear outside. And you came at the exact time," the wizard said.

Hearing that, my mouth curved into an arc. I knew they were not from the first faction. Someone else was sending the cursed objects to me.

They could be from another faction as well.

"So, why are you guys here?" I asked with a slight smile on my face.

The wizard who spoke earlier was a middle-aged man. He was getting angrier.

The faces of the other wizards shifted drastically. Even though they were wearing masks, I could tell their expressions had changed.

"We are here to kill you. I hope your death can make the Mage Union take us seriously," the middle-aged man said.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..." The other four wizards let out a laugh. They knew that Magic Lord Vincent was a young man who had broken through recently.

So, they didn’t think a newbie Magic Lord was powerful.

Hearing that, my eyes turned cold. I swept my icy cold gaze across them. I could tell that they were not afraid of me. I really didn’t have to use the system to know that.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..." The Magic Lords continued to laugh. They were not afraid. They were enjoying the moment right now.

I felt there was something wrong with the minds of these people. They were acting crazy. It reminded me of the Elder Level Powerhouse Muriel back in the underground prison cell.

My cold gaze intensified. I used the ability of the whale deterrent. It was not a magic spell, but the natural talent of the Giant Earth Whale.

The blue whale outline in the new spell model in the mind began to shine. The glow increased all of a sudden.

Boom!

The next second, a powerful vibe erupted from my body. The cold gaze radiating from my eyes was amplified even more.

Quiet!

The laughter of the five people ceased. Instead, their bodies began to tremble uncontrollably.

When they turned toward Magic Lord Vincent, their eyes met his cold gaze. The next moment, their hearts and minds were shaken to the core.

It felt as if it were not a human, but a dangerous predator staring into their eyes. A fear of death covered their hearts and minds.

They were happily laughing earlier. Now, they were extremely scared. Their minds were blank at this moment. They were not able to think.

The power of the whale deterrent was working.

On the other hand, I began to realize the power of the whale deterrent was stronger when I was angrier. The anger came from a real rage within my heart.
