Chapter 2196: Part 1: Powerful Return

Elder Erwin was experiencing shock. It was visible on his face. Not only was he rescued from the enemy’s place, but he saw my current strength as well.

Erwin then looked around and sat down on the sofa. He then raised his head and once again looked towards Vincent Carey.

He collected his thoughts and confirmed the fact that Vincent Carey was not lying. He had been rescued from the underground prison cell.

He recalled seeing Vincent Carey at the prison. At that time, he was a Supreme Wizard. He thought his rescue was related to his breakthrough.

But still, he decided to hear it from him.

"Tell me, what happened from the beginning?" Erwin asked.

Hearing that, I smiled and started reciting the made-up story in my mind. I had already rehearsed it a few times.

I had finished the explanation, but Elder Erwin was still contemplating. I didn’t know whether he believed it or not.

But his expression showed it. He believed it. Still, I waited for him to speak.

Erwin believed it. He had seen many weird things himself, so he was not surprised Vincent Carey used a one-time space treasure to rescue him.

He thought it was not easy to become a Magic Lord. On top of that, Vincent Carey’s Sub-Taboo magic was rare. There was even a limited opportunity available in the Mage Union.

So he believed Vincent Carey might have stumbled upon an inheritance ground connected to Gravity Magic. This also explained the breakthrough and the one-time-use space treasure.

He then turned towards Vincent Carey.

"I don’t know how to thank you. You even used a magic treasure for me," Erwin said in a polite tone.

"Elder, it’s a task given by Elder Charlotte. I was doing my duty," I replied.

Erwin shook his head and said, "I know about Elder Charlotte and the other faction members. I’m sure they must have sent you to trace my location. Your job was not to rescue me."

"But you took the risk upon yourself," he added.

Hearing that, I was left speechless. I didn’t expect him to figure out the matter so quickly.

A smile appeared on Erwin’s face.

"Don’t worry. I will try to compensate you. I will start looking for gravity-related resources. Especially Magic Lord and Forbidden Resources," Erwin said.

"There is no need to do that," I said to him.

Erwin raised his hand to stop him.

"I know you used a lot of healing resources to help me. I even found some Elder-Level healing resources during that time."

"So you have to accept the resources from me," Erwin said in a serious tone.

Hearing that, I sighed inwardly but nodded to him.

"You will get separate resources from our Silver Tower and the Mage Union as well. Since you are a Magic Lord right now, you can officially enter the Mage Union premises," Erwin said.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes.

"Elder, I want to know about the Mage Union," I asked all of a sudden.

"I knew you would ask. But trust me, I cannot tell you that much. I believe Elder Dana will summon you soon. You can ask her," Erwin said.

"Okay," I replied.

But in my heart, I thought there was secrecy everywhere.

"So, we are at the border city," Erwin said.

"Yes. I didn’t know whether to take you inside or not, so I chose to stop here," I said.

Erwin smiled and said, "Let’s go to the Silver Tower."

I nodded to him. Then we left the hotel room and appeared directly above the mid-sized city. We were standing in mid-air.

The next second, Forbidden Wizard Erwin touched the space layer. His use of the space layer was advanced.

Seeing that, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle. The next second, he grabbed my shoulder and brought me inside.

I felt like I was going through large space folds. It was more advanced than the space layer. Looking at my curiosity, Erwin explained.

"Imagine it like a giant space fold. I’m using forbidden strength to make the ends of the giant space folds touch. Then I’m making a hole in it to travel from the front end to the back end of the layer," Erwin said.

"With Magic Lord strength, you can only manipulate the basic space layer, which could shorten the distance by a couple of miles," he added.

On the other hand, I was listening to him, but I felt I had covered more distance than he said. Maybe it was because I already had forbidden magic power in my bones.

But clearly, I was not like others. I could do more with the space layer. And I thought there was no need to tell others about it. They were going to be shocked by my fast progress.

Erwin saw Vincent Carey listening, so he continued to tell him more about Magic Lord and Forbidden Wizard stuff. The things they do and avoid.

As time went by, I continued listening to him. It wasn’t even five minutes before we arrived in front of the magic city border.

Hereafter, we had to verify our identities before traveling. We were standing in mid-air directly above the checkpost.

The guards below were clueless. Even the Supreme Wizards staying near the office were clueless. They couldn’t sense the presence of Magic Lords, let alone find Forbidden Wizards.

But to deal with such situations, one Magic Lord was permanently stationed here.

Erwin was currently looking in his direction.

Right then, someone flew over in their direction and appeared before them. I looked towards the old man as well.

He was a Magic Lord, but he seemed to be very old. Maybe he was reaching the end of his lifespan. The old man saw two people: one middle-aged man and one young man.

He recognized the middle-aged man. He had seen Forbidden Wizard Erwin many times before.

"Elder Clint, how are you doing these days?" Erwin asked.

Hearing that, the old man collected his thoughts.

He turned towards Erwin and said, "I’m waiting for my time to come. It’s good to see you back."

Hearing that, I was taken aback. I didn’t expect Elder Erwin to be so polite. He must be even older.
