Chapter 1808: Boarding the airship!
Chapter 1808: Boarding the airship!
While traveling in the flying car, I spotted some vehicles following us. My mouth curved into an arc. Hank noticed the problem as well.
He was angry, but he couldn’t take action without a word from me, Master Vincent.
“Don’t stop driving. I’ll take care of them later,” I said to Hank.
My goal was to leave the border, but there were many transit cities before that. When we reached the next city, I told Hank to stop at a store.
The store was located in a central area. He landed the car in the parking lot, and then we stepped out of the vehicle and walked inside.
The spies who followed us arrived at the spot as well, but they didn’t enter the shop so as not to alert us.
Inside the store, my gaze fell on the vehicle area. I was there to buy a flying car for myself. The black raven aircraft we had been using was too eye-catching.
Hank was not surprised; he understood my plan. We then walked into a room and started observing different types of flying vehicles.
A staff member came over and started introducing the vehicles.
The modern flying vehicles had the latest features; they could even change color according to the user’s wishes. They featured high top speeds and produced very little noise.
Hearing that, I picked a vehicle suitable for me. It was maroon in color, five meters in length, and two meters in height.
I liked the flying car, which was a sports model, and proceeded with the deal. The staff member was happy.
20 minutes later…
I drove the maroon sports car and exited from the other end of the store, while I told Hank to head back to Crystal City.
I had confirmed using the System that no stalkers had entered the building. Then, I put the car into flight mode.
The car hovered above the ground and rose into mid-air. Then, I increased the speed. The car left the place in the blink of an eye.
Swoosh!
I headed toward the next transit city. There was very little air traffic. Since there were no other flying cars ahead, my car covered the distance quickly.
On the other hand, Hank left for Crystal City. The spies were confused; they had missed the target. When they tried to find the shop owner, Frank, it was already too late. Frank was nowhere to be seen.
The spies were left speechless. They had no choice other than to leave. They left the transit city and began their way back to Crystal City.
A few hours later…
I reached the border in my maroon car. It was located at the last border town. I had used this border town exit many times before.
When I reached the border post, a few wizards stationed there came to stop me. I showed them the badge of the Silver Tower. It was enough; there was no need to disclose my name.
The wizards became respectful after seeing the badge and allowed me to pass. I nodded to them before driving on.
The car left the border and entered the wasteland, a barren land that stretched for miles.
There was Dark Territory on the other side. If I chose another direction, I would come across many Independent Cities.
I had been to those Independent Cities before. Right now, I needed to travel ahead to see if any transport vehicles were using the path.
After going deeper, I halted the car. I stepped outside and put the car away in the System space.
I looked around. I was standing in a green field with no one in sight. Then, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I began to change my clothes, putting on wandering wizard robes and a different mask.
I returned outside and continued walking on the path ahead.
That evening, I found a shade tree to rest under. I decided to continue my trip the next morning.
“According to Otto, the goods have yet to reach Tulip City. They could be on their way,” I thought.
I gained some clarity in my thoughts and decided to wait there. If they were to reach the border city from the Dark Territory, they would have to use this path.
Meanwhile…
The shipment from the Dark Territory left for Magic City. The goods were shipped via a fortified airship belonging to Tulip City. Right now, wizards from Tulip City were escorting the cargo.
Most of the goods belonged to one particular shop in Tulip City; the remaining items belonged to other shops.
There were Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords on the airship, but no Forbidden Wizards.
The airship moved steadily toward the border.
At midnight, I was resting under the tree. Suddenly, I opened my eyes. The System had just given me a reminder: there was an airship on the way.
Swoosh!
I immediately used my flight ability to ascend into the air. I saw something coming in my direction.
It was an airship. I used the Core-Eating Mirror artifact to protect my heart.
“System, inspect the airship,” I commanded in my mind.
[Ding! There are 3 Magic Lords and 8 Supreme Wizards.]
The System’s voice echoed in my head. Hearing that, my heart stirred. I didn’t expect so many wizards to be present.
I didn’t know what goods they were shipping, but I calmed myself and looked ahead. The airship was getting closer.
I told the System to shield my presence. I wanted to reach the deck of the airship before anyone could find me. I doubted anyone would be active at this hour.
When the front of the airship passed, I flew toward the back. I reached the deck in the blink of an eye.
Tud!
I landed on the deck. A second later, I used the System’s power to probe the area. The System confirmed that everyone was inside the cabins. No one was outside.
My mouth curved into an arc. I decided it was time to find the goods.
