Chapter 1775: The function ended smoothly
Crystal City
The expression of Edmund Smith grew serious. He was not over-praising the shop owner for no reason; in fact, he knew the true worth of the ancient magic artifacts.
Though they were broken, they held immense value for research organizations. There are many research organizations that would be ready to pay a huge price for them.
His assistant, Jonah, saw the objects. Even with his limited knowledge, he understood that these magic artifacts were special.
At the same time, I understood that the leader, Edmund, was interested in these objects. I sighed in relief.
I heard they were known for causing trouble, but I guess it depends on the forces involved.
They knew of my connection with Manager Lara, and now that they had witnessed my ability, they wouldn’t dare cause problems for me.
I then made an excuse before heading toward the living room.
Time passed.
Most of the people who received invitations had arrived, including the quiet neighbors from the neighborhood. They had come to the event carrying gifts.
How could they ignore such an important person? Influential people from all over Crystal City had come. It would be their loss if they didn’t attend.
That evening, everyone began to depart. The event had come to an end, but there were still others deep in discussion.
Manager Lara met with everyone, including Jason Nicholson, Wilfred Cox, and Susan Park.
She had even met Holden Barrett, but they didn’t have a long interaction because there were so many other people to meet and interact with.
That night, Holden Barrett, Susan Park, Wilfred Cox, and Jason Nicholson left the premises. Before leaving, they spoke with me again.
Overall, they had a good day. They met many people and enjoyed good food. They also appreciated the collections in the gallery room.
Holden Barrett showed interest in buying from the collections. He said he would return another day to make a purchase before he left.
Not long after they left, the leader of the Infinite Circle, Edmund Smith, decided to leave as well. He also showed interest in purchasing the magic artifacts but planned to return another day.
Time passed.
Next, the neighbors left, including Rebecca Ethan and her family members.
Before leaving, Rebecca and her family shared their well-wishes for the new shop. I’m glad they came for the opening day. I thanked them once again.
It didn’t take long for everyone else to leave. The house became less crowded.
There were still people who were reluctant to depart, but fortunately, with the help of the authorities, the other guests were told to leave.
Now, only Manager Lara and her friends remained.
Manager Lara and her friends were tired; they decided to head out as well.
“It appears many of them are going to buy from the collections. If you need any help, you can contact me,” Lara said to me.
“I definitely will. Thanks for coming,” I replied.
Lara smiled, and she and her friends left the house.
A few minutes later, the whole building became quiet. Only the members and I remained. I was mentally exhausted; I had never spoken this much before.
So, I told the members to go and sleep. We could discuss things the next morning. After saying that, I went to my room.
…
Meanwhile, the guests who attended the event were all happy. All of them were impressed, and none of them had been mistreated.
Everyone was treated equally by the shop owner, Frank. He didn’t look down on anyone despite having connections to the Silver Tower.
Shop owner Frank’s behavior and equal treatment of others impressed the city authorities as well.
They were worried there would be another arrogant “young master,” but they had worried for nothing. They realized Frank was a good person.
They decided to share the news with their friends later, some of whom lived in other cities. If they could help someone get an item appraised, they might even get a commission.
They weren’t the only ones thinking like that; the guests who attended the function had the same idea for making money.
They all knew the identity of the appraiser. Appraisers have grades, and they thought Frank must be a high-grade appraiser.
That’s why the collections inside the gallery room were all above level-7. There were even Grade-10 items. Because of this, the guests all regarded Frank as a powerful appraiser.
…
Jason Nicholson, Wilfred Cox, and Susan Park returned to their families. The three friends reported to their respective family heads.
The heads of these families were impressed. They were eager to do direct business with Frank.
But unfortunately, they learned that the shop owner had another identity: he was a relative of Manager Lara.
So, they had to be cautious. They couldn’t afford to offend him.
Holden Barrett told his family about the function as well. His family was equally surprised by the identity of the appraiser.
It was good that he was from the Silver Tower. If the appraiser had been connected to other Magic Towers, they wouldn’t have been as enthusiastic about the news.
…
The following day
After getting out of bed, I started my morning routine. I felt better than yesterday. My new identity was well-established.
From now on, I can move around the magic city with this new identity. I can also learn more about the Mage Union.
It’s been several months since I joined the Silver Tower, but I knew very little about the Mage Union. This time, I’m going to gather information.
That was the main purpose behind the appraisal shop. I think Otto might have gained important information yesterday.
The presence of the Supreme Wizard members and the Magic Lords completely deterred any trouble.
The city authorities helped me in the end. No one would dare cause any problems. Even the Wizard Associations had shown good intentions.
I was worried about the intentions of the Wizard Associations in the city, but I think Manager Lara’s presence yesterday changed everything. They won’t want to offend the Silver Tower.
Manager Lara’s circle of friends were not ordinary people, either.
