Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1747 1747: Part 1: Upheaval in the city

Dust City

The city officials have blocked the main gate. No one is allowed to enter or leave. They are looking for the intruder.

The intruder is suspected to be a wandering Supreme Wizard. When the guards at the main gate heard this, they were shocked to the core.

Some of them remembered allowing a wandering Supreme Wizard to enter the city earlier. Their faces turned pale with fright.

They didn’t want to be seen by the officials; otherwise, they would be interrogated as well.

The wandering wizards and wizards from other forces were standing in queues on both sides of the gate.

The city guard captain was summoned by the city officials. The city officials were going to ask how they allowed a wandering Supreme Wizard into the city.

The captain didn’t go alone. He went with a few of the guards. After hearing the questions from the officials, they were shocked and scared.

But it was no secret that they didn’t dare to offend someone at the level of a Supreme.

Even if the person came from the wandering wizard queue, it didn’t guarantee that person was without a background.

The captain then recounted the circumstances: how they didn’t want to anger the Supreme Wizard. The officials didn’t make things difficult because they knew how things operated there.

If it were them, they would have done the same thing. But the higher-ups had ordered them to collect details, so they were doing their job.

Not long after, they left the place. The captain and the guards returned to their positions without punishment.

The visitors were standing in line. They didn’t move away from the spot. The officials had already checked their strength. They had even brought a magic artifact to find out whether anyone was hiding their strength.

Though they didn’t go so far as to inspect strictly, they were able to know that the masked Supreme Wizard was not among them.

At the same time, the officials went to various hotels to look for the culprit. Earlier, everyone had witnessed someone flying over the compound of the City Lord’s mansion.

After that, none of them had seen the person coming back. It meant the person could be hiding there. Yet, the officials were searching the whole city.

A small number of teams were left in the mansion, but everyone was doing this for a small possibility.

What if the intruder used some magic treasure to come back? Earlier, the City Lord had used his mental power to scan the mansion and its surroundings. He didn’t find anything. So, most of them were searching the city.

Time went by.

All the hotels, inns, and homestays were checked. But there was no sign of the masked Supreme Wizard.

Meanwhile, the Dark Faction Wizards were confused. They were witnesses to the whole incident. They had seen their target entering the mansion but not coming back.

The higher-ups of their organization thought it could be some kind of plot by the City Lord of Dust City.

Because they were sure that the target didn’t come back, they had been keeping an eye on the masked Supreme Wizard ever since he entered the city.

They had men all over the city, including the city gate, so no information could escape their eyes.

The Dark Faction higher-ups treated it as a conspiracy by the City Lord’s mansion, so they asked their men to stop all of their operations and stay low.

On the other hand, the incident alerted some of the White Wizard Faction and neutral factions in the city. Dust City is one of the most famous neutral cities in the whole Dark Territory.

Their City Lord is a famous Forbidden Wizard. Because of him, no Supreme or Magic Lords caused problems here. Yet, today, something happened.

Both the White Faction and neutral factions didn’t know what happened. They only knew that city officials were looking for an intruder.

The intruder was a Supreme Wizard and had entered through the wandering wizards’ queue.

Like the Dark Faction, they used their people to collect information. They were monitoring the situation now.

Their factions didn’t find anyone. But the City Lord’s mansion wouldn’t do a search without a reason.

They decided to wait and watch as well. They didn’t know who dared to enter the City Lord’s mansion.

More importantly, they were worried about the City Lord. It is because of the City Lord that there is a balance between the various forces.

Now, someone had entered the mansion, so he must have known about it. They were curious about what the City Lord was up to.

Outside

Old man Rock and the flying salamander noticed the disturbance at the gate. Rock immediately thought of the Master. He knew something had happened.

He couldn’t leave the place. There was a crimson chain of curses binding his injured mana core.

He couldn’t leave behind his master. Moreover, the flying salamander was the same. Though it was not bound by the curse of the crimson chain, it had already tasted the benefits.

The numerous resources consumed earlier had advanced its bloodline and brought progress. Both of them decided to stay here until their Master came out of the city.

Guest Room

Forbidden Wizard Remi was walking back and forth. The earlier disturbance had unsettled him.

Although the incident was not related to him, he wanted to get to the bottom of the problem. He wanted to know whether it was a false alarm or if someone had really entered the mansion.

That’s why he went to the underground prison to check. That place was fine. The Silver Tower Manager was locked up there.

He didn’t find any traces of new mana in that place, so no one had entered the underground prison.

“Maybe I’m overthinking?” Remi thought.

He knew about Dust City. The city appears to be calm, but the undercurrents are surging.

Especially the Dark Factions in the city, who had long been wanting to break the balance to gain more strength and resources.

He thought it could be their shady work. They could be trying to probe the structure of the city lord mansion.
