Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1704 1704: Upcoming danger!

From MC’s Perspective

Scorch Creek City:

The following day,

After getting ready, I came to the hall and saw that Zero Puppet was still active. The super-grade mana stones had yet to run out.

The dark root vine monster was resting. Then, I appeared outside.

Swoosh!

Hank, Patrick, and Otto were in discussion as usual. Upon my appearance, they stopped and greeted me.

They acted like they were used to my sudden appearances.

“Master, what are we going to do today?” Otto asked.

Hearing that, I replied, “I have a task for all three of you. I want you to collect copies of books related to history, magic, and other stuff.”

Patrick, Otto, and Hank were surprised.

They didn’t know why the Master was asking about it, but they decided to do it. Otherwise, the crimson curses would act on them.

A few minutes later,

The three of them left the hotel again. I decided to visit the bookstores or the library in the city. Then, I left the hotel.

As the seconds went by, I started looking around. The city was busy as usual. The locals were going about their business.

There were locals who were Level-8, as well as other wizards. It didn’t take long for me to ask around and collect that information.

I started heading towards a famous bookstore. It was located a few streets away. After arriving, I entered the bookstore.

A middle-aged man was running the store. I walked up to him and paid the fees for the day. I could spend the full day here.

My gaze swept across the place. The bookstore was quite big. I found a few people there. There were young people reading books.

I spotted an old couple as well. But when my gaze fell on them, the old couple looked at me. Our gazes met the next second.

My heart skipped a beat. The old couple were Supreme Wizards. Then, I calmed my heart and nodded to them before turning towards the bookshelves.

I started going through the book racks. I found the title of one book to be fascinating. It talked about the wizard places outside the Mage Union.

I picked up the book. Then, I walked up to the sitting area and sat down. I started reading the book.

The old couple once again looked towards the young man. Seeing that the young man was reading the book, they didn’t say anything.

There was one more person who was observing them. The person was none other than the bookstore owner. He had not seen such a young Level-9 Wizard before.

That’s why he was curious. He thought the young man could be a traveler. The old couple also thought the same. They were aware that such people could have a background.

So, they didn’t probe further.

On the other hand, I could feel the gazes of the people disappear after some time. I shifted my attention to reading.

I wanted to gain as much knowledge as possible. If the bookstore were mine, then I would have used the Zero Puppet to memorize every piece of information recorded in the books.

As time went by, I only read the important stuff, like the countries and their locations. If there was anything related to gravity magic or space, I read it completely.

Meanwhile,

Patrick, Otto, and Hank were collecting books from the old shops. They had bought the copies for a low price. They didn’t know why the Master was asking for them.

They could tell that the Master might want to visit a new place again because the Master’s higher-ups were still away from the Silver Tower.

At the same time, the city appeared to be calm. But the news of Sand Fall City had reached here as well because of the presence of the Magic Lord and Supreme Wizard families.

The news didn’t cause any chaos or unrest. The locals were going about their business. It was just that the local influential wizard families were wary of threats from outside.

It could be a problem regarding bandit groups and evil wizards. All they needed was some chaos to achieve their goals.

No bandit group would be suicidal enough to attack Scorch Creek City. If they did that, the Magic Lords here would take care of them easily.

So, they had a problem from the other side. It was the possible attacks from the evil wizards. The Mage Union had weakened the Organization of Evil Wizards in their territories.

But still, the Evil Wizard Organizations existed, and they operated from the shadows. The fall of Sand Fall City presented an opportunity to them.

Right now, one such evil wizard entered Scorch Creek City disguised as a Wandering Wizard.

He was an old man in his sixties with a hunched back. The mana power coming from his body was that of a weak Supreme Wizard.

To others, he was someone who had exhausted his potential and was close to dying. His lifespan would run out soon.

He didn’t pose a threat to the city. But the city guards were strong. The old man was an evil wizard who had hidden his strength as well.

His original mana power was that of a Magic Lord. It was not dying, but a strong and cold evil mana power. The old man then went through the crowd to find out the layout of the city.

He was aware of the presence of Magic Lord and Supreme Wizard families in the city, so he was going to be careful.

Time went by.

That evening, I walked out of the bookstore. The middle-aged shop owner was surprised, but I told him that I would come back tomorrow.

After leaving the shop, I started heading back to the hotel. I didn’t know what happened to those three.

Twenty minutes later,

I returned to the hotel room. Then I saw Patrick, Otto, and Hank inside the room. They were all waiting for me.

The next second, my gaze fell on the pile of books in the middle of them all. Seeing that, my mouth curved into a wide arc.

It appeared that they had done the job.
