Chapter 1640: Final auction item

Chapter 1640: Final auction item

City Lord House

Elder Abel had been watching over the city. He saw many wizards coming and going, and he even spotted some Supreme Wizards.

However, he had not found any Forbidden Wizards so far.

He had been quite worried earlier, but now that the auction was underway, he put his heart at ease. He hoped that no one else would arrive later.

Then, he thought of Young Master Hale. He believed Young Master Hale’s plan would come true.

He decided to go to the City Auction House when the last item was about to be auctioned. He wanted to ensure no mishaps occurred at the final moment.

City Auction House: The Stage

The auctioneer announced, “The Evil Wind Magic Fruit at 1.5 Million Mana Stones is going once.”

Everyone heard her words, but no one made a bid. The staff looked towards the 1st and 4th rooms. The two big shots were not making any bids. The auctioneer was disappointed.

“Going twice…”

“And going thrice…”

“The Evil Wind Magic Fruit now belongs to the guest in the 5th room,” the auctioneer said.

Hearing that, the people were not surprised. They thought the guest in the 5th room seemed to be a big shot from another independent city.

5th Room

The Black Tower Wizard, Rowan, was grinning from ear to ear. He didn’t expect to win this bid without a fight. He guessed that the special relic was not useful to others, but it was a great help to him.

After the 6th auction item, the 7th item was next. The auctioneer began to display the next item.

Time went by. It didn’t take long for the final auction item to arrive.

The auctioneer told the staff to bring out the final item, but it was currently in the hands of Young Master Hale. So, a staff member went to the City Lord to ask.

City Lord Dorian was standing outside the manager’s office. He saw the staff member coming towards him.

He had been watching the auction, so he knew it was time for the final item. He didn’t know Young Master Hale’s current mood.

The staff member approached him and asked about the item.

“You wait here. I’ll go and bring the item,” Dorian said. He then went into another office room.

Meanwhile

The people on the first floor were eagerly waiting. Ten auction items had been successfully sold. The last four items were bought by guests on the second floor.

Apart from the 1st, 4th, and 5th rooms, the magic lords in other rooms had also made bids. Now, it was time for the final, special auction item.

“Hey, do you think the last auction item is real?”

“I only heard about it from others.”

“We will know soon.”

“Let’s see which big shot is going to buy it.”

The wizards on the first floor were discussing the event.

They had seen the purchasing power of the big shots in the private rooms and thought the last item was going to be sold at a sky-high price for sure.

From MC’s Perspective

3rd Room

“It’s time for the final item,” Erwin said in a serious tone.

Hearing that, my heart started racing faster. I wanted to bid for this item if it was real. I hoped that the rumors were true.

Erwin saw through me. He smiled and said, “Don’t worry. If that item is real, I will buy it for you.”

I was stunned. I immediately thanked Lord Erwin. I didn’t know whether I could bid successfully with my current purchasing power because there were magic lords in the other guest rooms.

Seeing that I had calmed down, Erwin nodded his head. He knew the kid’s magic was Sub-Taboo magic. It was not easy to get resources for that in the Mage Union.

Now that there was a useful resource in front of them, as a member of the Silver Tower, he was going to buy it for this kid.

Office Room

Hale was seated in the chair. The Guardian, Marvin, was standing behind him.

Knowing that it was time for the final auction item, Hale’s calm appearance vanished. His demeanor changed, as if he were about to do something big.

The Guardian, Marvin, was scared. Their plan was going to become fruitful.

At that moment, City Lord Dorian entered the room. Upon seeing Young Master Hale, he broke out into a cold sweat. He knew about the plan; it was time to activate the sealing Artifact.

He walked up to the desk and said, “Young Master, it’s time to act.”

Hearing that, Hale didn’t show any anger. He took the outer space item out, a gray rock with silver spots all over it, and gave it to City Lord Dorian.

“I want you to be present on the stage. If anyone makes a bid, I’ll wait for the staff to announce it. Before she can say ’thrice,’ I’ll activate the Artifact,” he said.

“Don’t worry, Young Master. I’ll protect the item,” Dorian replied.

Dorian walked out of the room and went towards the staff member waiting outside the manager’s room.

Dorian said, “Go and bring out the box.”

Hearing that, the staff member went to get the box to showcase the last auction item. Dorian was still sweating.

When the staff member came back with the box, Dorian placed the shining outer space object inside.

The staff member was dumbfounded. He was seeing an item from outer space for the first time, so he was thrilled.

Dorian saw his reaction but just shook his head. He knew that, apart from the three of them including himself, the rest of the people here would die.

The staff member went to the auction stage where the female auctioneer was waiting.

When she saw the staff member carrying the final item, she sighed in relief. The City Lord had already told her about the pricing.

Gasp!

A loud gasping sound filled the room. Everyone saw the final item inside the transparent box.

At this time, Elder Abel was standing outside the auction building. He didn’t want any variables to appear at last moment.
