Chapter 1479: Part 1: Glasshaven City

From MC’s Perspective:

As I’m travelling, I’m taking time to observe the surroundings as well. Who knows? I might come across another super relic.

I also came across wizards with different magic abilities. But what surprised me was. Most of them had dark type magic.

I had not even seen such varieties in the magic city. But I’m seeing many people here.

Time passed,

I’m getting closer to the city. Just as I thought there won’t be any problem. I saw a group of people blocking the travelers.

They are collecting some resources from them. Seeing that I knew there was going to be trouble. I paused my footsteps and began to observe them.

The travelers paid the money before resuming their travel. They didn’t want to create any problems. Everyone had work to do.

By offending these people, it might lead to unnecessary trouble. After collecting my thoughts, I turned around and decided to try the different route.

“Hey?”

“You there!”

But I heard a loud voice the next second. Hearing that my heart turned cold. I guess it’s impossible to continue the journey without a fight.

Then I turned around and looked at the group of people. I asked the system to probe their strength. The system results show that the strongest one is a level-8 Wizard.

The rest of them are his underlings from level-6 to level-7. My mouth curves into an arc. There is no need for bloodshed. I can drive them by using the coercion.

Then I walked up to them. There are six people in the dark mercenary uniform. They are middle aged to the old man over sixties.

The travel groups are standing in front of them.

An old man over sixties looked at me and asked,”Who are you?”

“Don’t you follow the rules?”

“You have to pay us money to use this route,” the old man said in a sinister tone.

Hearing that traveler groups have become silent. They thought that this masked person was going to get beaten or die here.

The other rogues beside the old man had gloating looks on their faces.

At the same time, I scanned the whole area. The people among the traveler group were no threat to me.

Boom!

The next second, I released a little bit of coercion. A powerful shock force appears around me. It starts to spread across the surroundings.

AaahhhHh!

The wizards let out a muffled grunt. The coercion made them lie on the ground. Including the rogue wizards and the old man who was questioning me.

Puchak!

Those with weak wizard levels spit mouthfuls of blood. The old man who asked me the question along with the rest of the rogues was hit hard.

Seeing that I immediately dispelled the coercion. Then I resumed my journey using the flight ability. The wizards didn’t get up until the masked man left the place.

Shortly afterwards,

The travelers got up and fled from the spot. The rogue wizards got up next. But their expression was filled with fear and shock.

The old man’s face was written with horror. He realises he has kicked an iron plate this time.

“I’m leaving,” After saying that he fled from the spot.

Hearing that others vacated from the place. In the blink of an eye, the road which was blocked earlier. It was free without any obstacles.

Time passed,

At noon, I reached the border of the first big city. There are many vehicles waiting outside. They are ready to enter the city.

When I got closer. I found out that an inspection is going on. I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I had thought the dark territory would be lost.

But I didn’t expect the screening to happen here.

Then I began to overhear interesting conversations from the people. The inspection was not that strict. They are just checking wizard level.

After learning that I heaved a sigh of relief.

Time passed,

I went forward and joined with the group of travelers who were ready to enter the city. Then I saw the city name. It’s called Glasshaven.

It’s the first time I’m hearing such a name.

Shortly afterwards,

It was our turn. A group of masked patrol guards using some kind of device to check wizard’s level. Then they are allowing people to enter the city.

Seeing that I asked the system to temporarily turn off the blocking function. The next second, I felt something was lifted.

It didn’t take long for my turn to come. I stepped forward. The patrol guards looked at my mask before scanning me with their devices.

Their devices show the result as level-8. Then they signaled me to enter inside. I nodded to them before entering the city.

I followed the crowds to come to the main street. Then I saw an amazing scene. There are high rise buildings everywhere. Most of them were glass made.

It doesn’t look like the city under the Dark Territory. Not only me, the others who were coming for the first time were amazed as well.

Then someone from the crowd revealed that the Glasshaven city was a self-governing city. It’s not functioning under any big power.

Hearing that my heart stirred. It’s hard to think of a self-governing city. Especially, in the dark territory.

I’m sure either the City Lord is a powerful wizard or he comes from a powerful force.

After appreciating the infrastructure, I began to look for the transport services. While walking, I began to observe the local people.

They were acting weird. Because no one had a facial expression. Everyone is maintaining a similar stoic expression.

“What’s going on here?” I asked in my heart.

“System, what’s wrong with these people?” I asked the system.

“Ding! The locals were under the effect of the Magic Artifact.”

“The longer people stay here they will be affected by the magic artifact”

The system’s voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that my heart set off storms.

For a second, all the good things about the city disappeared from my mind.

Finally, I understood the deception. I had this feeling it’s not wise to spend time here.
