Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1123 Arrived! (True Elements Society)

From MC’s Perspective:

The Black Airship hurtled through the sky, a silent vehicle in the clouds. I watched from the observation deck, the wind swirling past the glass windows as cities blurred beneath us.

Skyscrapers and towers of glass and steel appeared with the passing moments, but none of the wizards below stirred. No alarms, no magical barriers, not even a curious glance directed skyward. The airship sailed, unhindered and unnoticed.

I frowned. Something felt off. My eyes darted across the skyline, trying to catch any signs of recognition or action from the cities beneath. But the airship continued on its path, unchallenged. And I wasn’t the only one. A few other airships crisscrossed the skies ahead, equally undisturbed.

“Do you have something on your mind?” Darcie’s voice cut through my thoughts, calm and steady as ever.

“Why has no one stopped the airship?” I asked, still staring out the window. “What if there’s an evil wizard flying in one of them?”

Darcie chuckled softly, the sound filled with knowing amusement. She leaned back in her seat, her eyes crinkling with a smile. “You have much to learn. First, I’ve already reported our travel plans to the Headquarters of the City Administration.”

I turned towards her, waiting for more, and she obliged.

“Each city between our origin and destination is informed of our passage,” she continued. “Beyond that, there is the Intelligence Department.”

She paused, watching my reaction. I raised an eyebrow. “Intelligence Department?”

“The department is staffed by wizards whose magic is awakened to the art of information gathering and analysis. They recruit based on such talents. Their eyes and ears are everywhere, and they know who comes and goes.” Her voice was matter-of-fact, but there was a deep respect woven into her words.

A realization dawned on me. This wasn’t just some free pass; there was an entire system at work, and it was flawless. “No wonder no one’s bothered to stop us,” I muttered to myself, the pieces falling into place.

Two hours later, the airship finally entered the territory of the True Elements Society. My eyes widened as I took in the landscape. Below us, an intricate city sprawled out, like a tapestry of steel, magic, and motion. We were still far from our destination, but I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the details.

Skyscrapers reached for the heavens, their sleek designs betraying a blend of modern technology and arcane craftsmanship. As we passed over, I noticed two floating buildings suspended in mid-air, glowing faintly with ethereal energy. What kind of magic keeps those afloat? I wondered, my curiosity piqued.

As my gaze wandered, I noticed a sharp contrast between here and the home capital. No monster carriages. Back home, the streets filled with monster carriages, but here? Only sleek, modern flying machines filled the sky. Their streamlined forms and silent engines whispered of advanced technology that felt foreign to me.

We passed over a train, its design even more futuristic, gliding along at high speed. The train looked like a silver blade slicing through the air. A protective barrier shimmered faintly around it as it zipped through the city, unaffected by the buildings or the traffic. The magic, the technology, everything was an evolved version of what I was used to.

I glanced at Darcie, but her eyes were closed, her face peaceful. She was lost in thought, or perhaps in sleep. I decided not to disturb her. My questions about the city and its wonders could wait. I turned back to the window, captivated by the world unfolding beneath me.

This place was different. Everything was… advanced. Even the air itself seemed to hum with a strange, modern energy. And as the Black Airship sailed deeper into the heart of the territory, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was stepping into a future I wasn’t quite ready for.

Thirty minutes later, the Black Airship entered the airspace of the Main City. The atmosphere seemed to shift, heavier with energy, and the view from the observation deck was breathtaking.

Below, the city stretched endlessly, far larger and more vibrant than any we had passed before. Towers rose like the fingers of giants, the streets below teeming with life and movement, while magical currents pulsed through the air like invisible rivers.

“The Main City is much larger than the other five cities in the region. It’s not just the size—it’s more populous, too,” Darcie explained, her voice steady but with a hint of reverence. “You can find anything related to magic here. Spells, artifacts, rare materials… it’s the hub of everything.”

Her words only added to the growing excitement bubbling within me, but her tone quickly turned serious. “Most of the people here are members of the True Elements Society. Before you explore, you should learn the dos and don’ts of this city. People will stare at you. You stand out here, so take care of yourself.”

Her eyes met mine, conveying the weight of her advice. “Thank you, Elder, for your guidance. I’ll be careful,” I promised. Explore more at empire

“Here,” she said, handing me a communication device. “Save my contact information. If you encounter trouble, send me a message. I can at least offer some advice, if not more.”

I nodded and quickly saved her contact. It felt strange, having such a direct line to someone as influential as Elder Darcie, but comforting nonetheless. As I did so, the Black Airship slowed, approaching the sprawling complex that housed the True Elements Society.

Looking out the window, I saw that the cityscape below grew denser. Buildings stood packed together, each one a marvel of architecture, some glowing with faint magical auras. But as we neared the heart of the city, my eyes were drawn to an even grander structure looming in the distance.

“Is that… a palace?” I asked, my voice almost a whisper.

Darcie followed my gaze and smiled. “It’s not just any palace. It’s a Magic Palace.”

“A Magic Palace?” I echoed, mesmerized by its towering spires and intricate design. The entire structure seemed to radiate power, its walls etched with runes that shimmered in the sunlight.

“Only level-10 wizards have the authority to build these palaces,” Darcie explained, her voice low, almost reverent.

“They’re called Palace Masters, and they are some of the most powerful elders in the True Elements Society. Not every level-10 wizard builds one, though. Some choose to explore the world, while others… well, the ‘nerd types,’ as you might call them, spend their lives locked away in research, hidden within their palaces.”

I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the palace as we glided closer. The architecture was a blend of the ancient and the futuristic, with towers that seemed to touch the sky and walls that pulsed with magic.

The sheer scale of it left me breathless. These were not just homes; they were symbols of power, knowledge, and status in a world governed by magic.

But as the airship began its descent, Darcie’s voice brought me back to reality. “We’ve arrived,” she said, standing up. “You can learn more about the city and the Society later. For now, focus on settling in.”

I nodded, but my heart was pounding with a mixture of anticipation and awe. The journey had only just begun, and already I felt the weight of the world I was stepping into.

A world where power was measured not only by strength but by knowledge and mastery of the magical arts.

As the airship finally touched down, I couldn’t help but smile. This city, this society—it was everything I had imagined and more. And I was ready to dive into its mysteries.

Creak!

The door of the Black Airship swung open with a low groan, and I stepped out cautiously. As my feet touched the ground, a strange sensation washed over me—an unfamiliar combination of anticipation and unease. The air was cooler here, thick with magic, as if the very ground was humming with energy beneath my boots.

I scanned my surroundings, unsure of what to expect. “I wonder who will introduce me to this place,” I thought, my eyes drifting over the entranceway of the True Elements Society.

The sprawling complex ahead was grand, towering over us, with shimmering magical barriers faintly visible in the distance, protecting its secrets.

Behind me, Darcie stepped out of the airship with practiced ease. Without a word, she raised her hand and touched the gemstone on her storage ring.

In an instant, the enormous Black Airship vanished from sight, as if swallowed by the ring’s magic, leaving only a gust of wind in its place. The ease with which she manipulated such powerful artifacts reminded me just how far I still had to go in mastering magic.

“Let’s wait here,” Darcie said, her voice calm but firm. “I’ll inform the higher-ups.”

Her words sent a ripple of unease through me. She was being unusually cautious. I glanced at her, catching the subtle shift in her posture, the careful way she glanced around before speaking.

My instincts buzzed, sensing something off. Was she anticipating trouble? Her careful actions suggested more was at play here than a simple introduction.

I furrowed my brow, trying to piece together the puzzle. Why would she, a respected Elder, need to act with such deliberation in her own territory? This was the heart of the True Elements Society, wasn’t it?
