The next day.
As promised, Yang Yi used large pieces of lumber to carve and assemble a house. After some work, he finally managed to build a simple house model with two bedrooms and one living room.
To a human, this house was nothing more than a toy model.
But to the small-sized Tricia, it was a house she could actually use.
“Your craftsmanship can barely be considered apprentice-level.”
Tricia’s condition had improved somewhat, and she had grown another pair of wings. She looked over the house Yang Yi had built and began criticizing it.
“This is only apprentice-level?”
Yang Yi felt that he had already built the house quite well. He had even cleverly used mortise-and-tenon joints.
“Yes!” Tricia nodded.
“If you were placed among Light Fairy craftsmen, you would be eliminated with a 100% certainty and then driven out of the Holy City,” she added.
Yang Yi shrugged.
After recovering, this girl had clearly become much harder to fool. Fortunately, she had inherited her memories, so she had not completely turned into a different person.
Yang Yi secured the little wooden house inside the captain’s cabin, placing it above the desk for Tricia to use.
And just as Yang Yi had said, aside from Tricia, the other crew members probably could not even get inside the house.
“It’ll do. I can repair and improve it myself later.”
After Yang Yi finished installing it, Tricia still nodded, though she was only barely satisfied.
“You can do that too?”
“Of course!
I’m the knowledgeable Tricia. Although I’m not at the very top when it comes to craftsmanship, I’m still much better than you,” Tricia replied.
“Then can you make equipment too?”
Yang Yi suddenly asked, his eyes filled with hope.
If Tricia could use her saliva to make the standard equipment of the Holy Radiant Church, then she would truly be a money-making machine.
“Uh…”
Tricia’s expression became troubled.
“I can, but if I’m working alone, the efficiency will be very low. I won’t be able to make particularly high-level equipment.”
“Can you be more specific?”
“At most, I can make fine-quality equipment. The larger the item, the longer it takes. As for a helmet, it would probably take about half a month, and without having a blessing infused into it, it won’t glow…”
Tricia’s voice grew softer and softer.
“That’s it?”
Yang Yi’s attitude suddenly became much more confident.
After all, he could make Fine-quality armor himself too, and his efficiency was much higher than Tricia’s. As long as he had the materials, he could handcraft several pieces in a single day.
And judging by the way Tricia was avoiding his gaze…
“Could it be that you’re one of those ‘polymaths’ who knows a little about everything but isn’t proficient in anything?”
“You’re talking nonsense!” Tricia’s face turned bright red as she began to argue. “It’s just that I haven’t seriously studied anything. Once I get serious, things will be completely different!”
“Yes, yes, yes.”
Yang Yi nodded perfunctorily, knowing that his guess had been correct.
He suspected that Tricia might have another title as well—for example, “Incompetent Tricia” or “Mediocre Tricia.”
But it didn’t matter. What Yang Yi valued was her breadth of knowledge. He wasn’t going to dwell on her shortcomings or tease and make fun of her.
“By the way, it’s about time you told me.
How do we determine our direction in the Sea of Darkness?”
Yang Yi asked about the thing he most wanted to know.
He had already read the Pioneer’s Guide, but he had gained nothing from it because, much like the world map, the pages of the book could unfold. In the end, they transformed into a complex ritual magic array.
【Name: Pioneer Ritual】
【Description: A complex magic array drawn with special pigments. It can perform the Pioneer Ritual, offering sacrifices and asking an unknown existence for directions.】
Judging from the system information,
navigation in the Sea of Darkness was not determined using some kind of compass or map. Instead, it relied on a magical ritual to ask certain special entities for guidance…
Tricia nodded, displaying the advantage of her extensive knowledge once again.
“The Sea of Darkness is an extremely special sea region. It’s highly unstable and contains a large number of lost ruins and unknown islands. Something may exist one second and disappear the next, as though it had never existed at all. So maps are meaningless.
“Throughout the entire Sea of Darkness , the only sea region whose position is certain and whose coordinates remain fixed is the Sea of Miracles. All other sea regions may move and have their coordinates change. The reason is unknown, so our course has to be determined through a ritual…”
Tricia replied.
Yang Yi frowned as he tried to imagine the structure of this world.
It should be an oceanic world, like an infinitely large, endlessly expanding pool of water.
Floating within this enormous pool were many smaller pools of different colors. Their positions were not fixed, except for the Sea of Miracles.
That was probably roughly how the world was structured.
As for why these smaller pools moved, Yang Yi already had a theory. Perhaps the Great Existences within them were moving, causing the sea regions themselves to move as well. That would explain everything.
He synchronized this information with Suna and planned to post it on the forum later. It would definitely cause an enormous uproar.
“By the way, do you know how many special sea regions there are?”
Yang Yi suddenly asked.
“Currently, the identified sea regions are the Storm Sea Region, the Extreme Winter Sea Region, the Death Plague Sea Region, and the Abundant Sea Region. There are four in total,” Tricia replied.
“You have to add the Sea of Miracles too. It can also be called the Radiant Sea Region,” Yang Yi added, recording this information.
But then he suddenly felt that something was wrong.
“Could there really be no Burning Sea Region, or perhaps a Sea of Flames?”
“Huh?”
Tricia looked at Yang Yi as if he were an idiot.
“Even children know that seawater will be dried up by fire.”
“Uh…”
Yang Yi was rendered speechless and fell into thought.
If there was no Sea of Burning, then where would the Charred Tree be?
He tried to recall the scene from his memories—a Great Existence shaped like a tree that was constantly burning, standing upon charred black earth, while the entire sky was obscured by black smoke.
At the same time, his sanity began to drop. A thick burnt stench emanated from his body, his body temperature began to rise, and his hair started to curl slightly…
“Hey! What are you doing?!”
Tricia’s voice snapped Yang Yi back to his senses, and the strange phenomenon abruptly stopped.
He immediately realized that something was wrong and checked his Sanity value, only to discover that he had lost more than thirty points.
What the hell? He had gotten too absorbed in his thoughts and almost caught fire!
“Are you a Fire Worshipper?”
Tricia suddenly retreated several meters, keeping a considerable distance from him to avoid getting burned herself.
“I’m not.”
Yang Yi denied it immediately, but Tricia didn’t believe him. It took quite a while before she continued explaining, still maintaining a considerable safe distance.
“The ritual process is very simple. It is divided into three stages: sacrifice, inquiry, and guidance…”
