Grand Voyage : Surviving on a Ghost Ship
Ch. 330 - Buy! Buy! Buy!
New Novel - Read Here
“How much do you sell Light Containers for?” Yang Yi asked.
He was preparing to purchase another important item that he needed.
“There are three types of Light Containers: small, medium, and large. Their brightness and illumination range are vastly different.”
The old man explained while pointing toward the actual items displayed nearby.
“For example, the ones hanging around the outer perimeter of this treasure ship are medium-sized containers. The one on top of the magic item shop is a large-sized container.”
The medium-sized Light Container had a diameter of about five centimeters, while the large-sized one was about ten centimeters in diameter. When placed side by side, the difference in brightness was immediately obvious.
“I don’t know whether you have ever encountered a giant shadow before, but they are extremely dangerous.”
The old man spoke with confidence.
“To eliminate a giant shadow, you must use a large Light Container. Otherwise, your only option is to run. Even then, you might not be able to escape.”
However, what the old man did not know was that Yang Yi had not only encountered giant shadows before—he had killed quite a few of them.
Yang Yi carefully examined the two types of Light Containers and compared them with the small-sized ones, calculating how many he should purchase.
“What are the prices?”
He asked.
“The small ones cost 1,000 Shell Coins. The medium ones cost 10,000 Shell Coins. The large ones cost 100,000 Shell Coins.”
The old man answered.
“I can make them on the spot. Their quality and quantity are guaranteed. Even if you keep them for thirty to fifty years, they will still function normally. So you can buy with confidence.”
“They have an expiration date?”
Yang Yi asked.
“Of course.”
The old man nodded.
“Those middlemen won’t tell you this. The Light Fairy fragments inside Light Containers will gradually lose their brightness as time passes. Even sealing them inside a Light Container cannot preserve them forever.”
Yang Yi rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Then, he suddenly raised his head and asked:
“Then do you sell Light Fairies here?”
“What?!”
The old man was startled.
He immediately turned his gaze toward Yang Yi and carefully examined him from head to toe.
Yang Yi felt uncomfortable under his gaze and frowned.
“What? Didn’t you say that you could sell anything?”
“Selling them is possible, but I’m just afraid that you won’t dare to buy one.”
The old man shook his head.
“Light Fairies are forbidden possessions of the Radiant Holy Church. Buying and selling them is strictly prohibited.”
“Selling fragments is still acceptable, but if anyone dares to buy or sell an entire Light Fairy, a mark of grave sin will appear on their body.”
“Once that happens, nearby knights of the Radiant Holy Church—or even Holy Warriors—will be able to discover them. The consequences would be unimaginable.”
The old man realized that Yang Yi lacked many basic survival rules, so he patiently explained them.
Afterward, he pulled open his clothing and showed Yang Yi the mark on his chest.
It was a fresh wound, as if it had only recently been branded.
The mark was blackish-red in color and shaped like an inverted spearhead. It looked extremely sinister.
“It can actually become like this? Then aren’t you in great danger?”
Yang Yi looked at the mark on the old man’s chest and asked.
“Why would I be in danger?” the old man replied calmly. “I’m just a wanderer with no fixed destination. Besides, I never planned on returning to the Sea of Miracles.”
“What about you?” The old man looked at Yang Yi. “Are you planning to live on the sea forever like me?”
Yang Yi fell silent for a moment.
The old man’s words had revealed a great deal of information.
First, even a powerhouse like this old man could still be discovered and punished by the Radiant Holy Church. The old man himself had never denied this possibility.
And there was another thing...
Living as a constant wanderer without a fixed destination—wasn’t that similar to the situation of the players?
After thinking for a while, Yang Yi asked about the price of a Light Fairy.
“How much does one cost?”
“Hmm... I’ll give you a special price. One hundred million Shell Coins each.”
The old man stretched out a finger.
“This price is only because you are a VIP customer. Normally, they would cost even more.”
“After all, every single one of them is a money tree...”
The old man’s expression became reluctant.
It was exactly the same expression he had shown when selling Zhuangzhuang earlier, as if he had practiced it countless times.
“This is far too expensive. Can you lower the price?”
Yang Yi tried negotiating.
“My budget is only twenty million, and I still need to purchase other things.”
He knew his offer was ridiculously low and did not expect the old man to agree.
However...
The old man did not reject him immediately.
Instead, he looked at Yang Yi with an extremely painful expression, as if he had made a decision that betrayed his ancestors.
“Let me warn you first. Cheap things are never good, and good things are never cheap.”
The old man sighed.
“I do have one Light Fairy here that is close to death. It depends on whether you are willing to buy it or not...”
“Take me to see it first.”
“Alright.”
The old man turned around and began leading Yang Yi and Suna toward the building in the center of the treasure ship’s deck.
There should be stairs inside that lead down to the ship’s cabin. After all, there did not appear to be any other entrances on the deck.
Buy it. Light Fairies have great research value!
Suna secretly sent Yang Yi a private message, expressing her support.
Don’t rush. I think there is still room for bargaining. This old man agreed too easily.
Yang Yi replied through their communication channel.
The three of them entered the building.
Inside were countless crystal cabinets displaying a wide variety of magical items.
“From the first to the third floors, all the items are magical tools.”
The old man introduced the place as he guided them forward.
“You can open the cabinets and inspect them, but you are not allowed to use anything. Once you use an item, you have to buy it.”
“We have our rules, and we cannot break them.”
“The fourth and fifth floors contain various books.”
“As for daily necessities, they are all stored in the ship’s cabin. I’ll take you there.”
The old man continued explaining like a tour guide before leading them toward a staircase that descended into the ship’s cabin.
Yang Yi looked around.
Based on their appearance, he was able to recognize many of the items displayed inside.
There were firearms, various knives and axes, fishing rods, gemstones, and many other strange objects.
Among them, he spotted something familiar.
An Abyss Soul Stone.
Judging by its size, it should have been a low-grade one. Its listed price was 98,000 Shell Coins.
There were also low-grade Craftsman Engraving Stones.
Their listed price was 100,000 Shell Coins, making them slightly more expensive than Deep Abyss Soul Stones.
However, the prices of these enhancement materials were much lower than Yang Yi had expected.
After all, he was enjoying VIP treatment, which gave him a 20% discount.
With prices like these, even if Yang Yi resold the goods to other players, he could earn enormous profits.
For a brief moment, he even considered becoming a middleman himself.
However, the rapidly increasing Exposure Level quickly brought him back to reality.
The previous transactions and conversations had already increased his Exposure Level to 24%.
If he went on a crazy shopping spree, resold the items, and then continued purchasing more, his Exposure Level would probably rise at an alarming rate.
The consequences could be terrifying.
Yang Yi and Suna followed the old man into the ship’s cabin.
The structure inside completely exceeded their expectations.
The entire ship’s cabin was nearly fifty meters tall, and it was not divided into multiple floors. It was so enormous that it could practically fit the entire Nightmare Star inside.
The staircase was a long spiral staircase that descended vertically, extending all the way to the bottom of the cabin.
Inside the ship’s cabin, a large number of living creatures were imprisoned.
There were Cyclopes nearly three meters tall, scaled creatures that appeared to be Deep Ones, low-level vampires, and even ordinary livestock such as cattle and sheep.
The entire ship’s cabin resembled a massive living creature exhibition hall, containing countless living beings.
Guards were stationed throughout the area, responsible for watching over them.
Most of the guards were humans.
There were also deformed dwarves like the old man, stone people, and Cyclopes serving as bodyguards and enforcers.
Among the three of them, Suna was probably the most excited.
She had already started examining the prices of the creatures because the prices were written directly on their clothing.
Even the guards’ clothes had prices attached to them.
From the surface, they were also considered merchandise.
Humans were relatively cheap.
A healthy adult human was priced at only 20,000 Shell Coins, roughly equivalent to the cost of a high-quality weapon.
Cyclopes, however, were far more expensive.
A single Cyclops cost anywhere between 3 million and 50 million Shell Coins.
The stronger they were, the higher their price.
No wonder Zhuangzhuang had been so ridiculously expensive.
Yang Yi began searching for Mars.
He was most likely imprisoned somewhere inside one of the cages as well.
However, Yang Yi did not know what Mars looked like, and he could not use his Third Eye.
Finding him was still extremely difficult.
He attempted to check the communication interface.
Unexpectedly, he discovered that Mars had awakened and sent him a message.
“Big-shot Cyclops, you’re finally here! Hurry and save me! I’ll do anything you want!”
