Chapter 664: Fools
Chapter 664: Fools
After the auctioneer said that the Spiral Spirit egg might as well not hatch, a wave of anger swept through the entire auction hall, with most powerhouses complaining about the insincerity of the auction house.
Furious of being kept in the dark, several powerhouses released their cultivation strength of a Specta as the old woman that had asked the question about the 14th Grand Spirit egg ordered in a commanding tone,
“Quiet down, trash!”
This would have caused another commotion, but the moment they sensed the energy currents of the old woman, even the other powerhouses quieted down.
Jason had already perceived the existence of a few extremely old powerhouses that had accumulated their strength over a timespan of thousands of years.
Thus, he was not even astonished about the sheer energy currents that rippled through the auction hall.
Yet, what caused him to raise his eyebrow was the fact that the old woman was standing next to a young Aues, who looked down at everything as if it didn’t matter to him and everything was a waste of time.
Comparing the old woman at the Specta stage to the young man who was still at the Ascendion stage, Jason couldn’t help but feel more curious about the young, seemingly nonchalant Aues.
However, instead of staring at the young Aues, who had noticed that Jason’s eyes were glued on him, Jason averted his attention back to the auctioneer.
Yet, before the bidding could resume, an old man from the other side of the VVIP lounge suddenly asked,
“Is that everything the auction house has to say about the Spiral Spirit egg or is there more to know? The Auction house should reveal everything if they don’t want to offend the big clans and families that specially came to attend today’s event because they trust the reputation of Lanro’s auction house!!”
Next to the old man, who was also a powerhouse at the Specta stage stood a young-looking girl, and Jason presumed her to be even younger than himself.
This was already astonishing, but what made him lift his eyebrow once again was the fact that she was a human who had mana veins, instead of a Spiral or Pryr cultivation vein as it was usually the case with Manyrs.
In the end, this meant that she was either a mutant just like people such as Rex or other cadets of the Tritans, or she was from a different planet, just like him.
Yet, what caused Jason’s Emperor Eyes to gleam up was the fact that the young woman had already entered the peak of the Prismar stage.
She had one enormous, dome crystal enveloping the three large, rotating crystals, that contained three small prismarine crystals each causing Jason to nod his head in acknowledgment.
However, instead of giving her any more of his attention, he awaited the female auctioneer’s answer.
Sweating profusely due to the sheer pressure she had to endure owing to the powerhouses comments, the auctioneer quickly explained.
“As I mentioned, it is not certain that the Spiral Spirit egg won’t hatch, but the chances of it not hatching is high because the egg didn’t receive the necessary nutrition when it was constructed in the body of its parent.
There are further problems with the Spiral veins, and the examinations concluded that the Spiral Spirit egg underwent a half mutation, transforming only a part of the mana veins into Spiral veins.
Thus, it is a gamble to purchase the Spiral Spirit Egg, while seriously thinking that one can hatch it.
In the end, the Auction house didn’t want to auction it off, but the anonymous seller of the other Grand Spirit eggs demanded that we auction off the mutated 14th egg too!
Because of that condition, we can only reveal it to everyone, even if we didn’t plan to make a fuss out of it!”
The last sentence caused Jason to smile lightly because it was something the female auctioneer blurted out in fear of receiving another surprise attack owing to the distinct pressure that was already radiated by the Specta stage powerhouses.
However, none of that happened, and everyone quieted down.
From the looks of it, the auction house couldn’t ignore the seller’s demands, which forced them to reveal all 14 Grand Spirit Eggs, even if they only wanted to sell 13.
Despite that, the information of the 14th egg was interesting, at least to Jason, who was one of the only people who retained his smile.
Even Jennifer and the other powerhouse frowned when they heard the details about the Spiral Spirit egg.
Initially, they had planned to bid for it, but even if they were powerhouses, what all of them hated the most was to waste precious resources.
Thus, they dropped their previous idea of bidding for it, even if the price was not extremely high for them.
Wasting their time and resources was not something they wanted to do, for something that was deemed as useless.
As such, there were a few impatient powerhouses that voiced out their opinion without thinking about holding back, let alone the common rules of the auction house, which stated that it was forbidden to intervene in the auction.
“If the half mutated Spiral Spirit egg is so useless, just auction it off to anyone, before we move to the true main event, which is the auction of the unscathed Spirit eggs!”
“I agree to this! Auction off the mutated egg first, and if someone wants to bid for it, it’s fine…but why are we wasting our time with such useless talk about trash!”
While more and more people agreed to this, Jason could only eye everyone weirdly, thinking that all of them were stupid.
‘Why do they trust the words of the auction house to such a degree? Shouldn’t at least a few show interest in bidding for the Spiral Spirit egg?’ He wondered, utterly dumbfounded. Meanwhile, the auctioneer kept her cool and accepted the bidder’s opinion without complaint.
“As the esteemed guest in the VVIP lounge suggested, I shall start the auction for the half-mutated Spiral Spirit egg right away!
The starting price to bid shall still be 10 superior Ascendion rank cultivation stones!”
With that being said, the auctioneer awaited a bid as she forced a smile on her face, thinking that the end of the auction had become utterly chaotic.
However, instead of receiving even a single bid, she saw that the entire auction house had gone silent, turning the entire situation extremely awkward.
Even after two minutes passed, nobody bid, thinking that the price was way too high.
As such, the auctioneer was about to lower the price at any second, which caused Jason to frown because his opinion about the mutated Spirit egg was completely different than that of the others!
‘Their thoughts are somewhat logical, but what makes them trust the auction house to that degree?
Furthermore, what the hell did the Auction house use to examine the mutated egg? A rock?!
How else could they be so wrong? The Spiral Spirit egg is neither injured nor trash, it simply underwent a partial mutation..
The mana veins have been completely extinguished, and replaced by Spiral cultivation veins.
In the end, the only issue is the dead mana veins that haven’t been expelled from the mutated Spiral Spirit, which must be malnourished!’
Thinking that the Spiral Spirit egg didn’t receive enough spirit force in the initial stages of its construction, Jason could only conclude that it lacked spirit force.
As such, unable to expel the dead mana veins, the egg’s problems were increasing further to the point that they began to overlap, causing the problems mentioned by the auction house.
Because of the evaluation, Jason could conclude thanks to his Emperor Eyes, he couldn’t help but feel that everyone was doing a big mistake in not bidding for the Spiral Spirit egg.
However, at the same time, he was barely able to contain himself from exclaiming as he took a deep breath to calm his jittery nerves. Awaiting the moment in which the auctioneer was just about to open her mouth to lower the price, he amplified his voice and said,
“I bid 10 superior cultivation stones at the Ascendion rank!”
