Kael pointed to a narrow, jagged scar on the glowing map. It sat exactly fifty miles outside the towering walls of the Inner City.

"The supply train has to pass through the Iron Canyon," Kael explained smoothly.

"It is a natural slaughterhouse. The tracks are walled in by sheer, three-hundred-foot cliffs of solid rock on both sides. No other routes. No detours."

Kael shifted his cold silver eyes to Seraphina.

"Sera. You are going to be the anvil."

The Fallen Valkyrie stood up straighter. Her golden eyes locked onto his, completely devoid of fear.

"You drop directly onto the tracks inside the canyon," Kael ordered. "You push your holy shield to its absolute limit. You do not move. You do not flinch."

"That train weighs two thousand tons, Kael," Seraphina warned, her jaw tightening.

"Even if I block it, the sheer kinetic force..."

"You won't take the full hit," Nyx interrupted. A wicked, feral grin spread across the hacker's face.

She tapped her floating keyboard, bringing up the train's internal braking system.

"The train's brain is programmed strictly to protect the cargo. The driver cannot override it. If its sensors spot an unbreakable magical shield blocking the tracks, the emergency brakes will trigger on their own."

Nyx popped her synthetic bubblegum loudly in the quiet station.

"It will drop from five hundred miles an hour to a dead stop in less than ten seconds."

"Exactly," Kael nodded.

He pointed to a high ridge overlooking the canyon on the digital map.

"The exact second the train hits the brakes, Vespera and I drop onto the roof from the cliffs."

Kael looked down at the dark, alien gear resting on the floor.

"I will be wearing the arm-guards and the boots. The sudden stop won't throw me off the metal. Vespera can simply teleport right inside the cargo car through the shadows."

"What about the Vanguard guards inside?" Seraphina asked, her tactical mind following his every word.

"They will be completely thrown off balance by the violent braking," Kael replied coldly.

"I break through the roof. Vespera attacks from the floor. We catch them in a blind crossfire. It will be a total meat grinder."

"And once the guards are dead, I hack the vault doors from here, and you steal the endless power reactor," Nyx finished, clapping her hands together.

It was a flawless, brutal plan. A perfectly synchronized ambush utilizing every single advantage they had.

[User Weapons_Nut_44: The logic is flawless! The train's survival programming is its own greatest weakness! It is a perfect tactical bottleneck! 🧠♟️🔥]

"Alright," Nyx grinned eagerly. Her fingers danced across the keys to unlock the final shipping document.

"Let me just pull up the guard schedule. We need to know exactly how many soldiers Thorne put on that train."

The map shifted violently.

A digital paper appeared in the air, glowing with the pristine blue crest of the Vanguard Guild.

Nyx read the text in a flash.

Suddenly, the confident, manic grin vanished entirely from the teenager's face.

Her hands froze completely in the air.

The color drained from her cheeks in a heartbeat. She looked paler than a ghost.

"Nyx," Kael said softly. His silver eyes narrowed with lethal focus. "What is it?"

"Kael..." Nyx whispered. Her voice was shaking so violently she could barely form the words.

She slowly reached forward and zoomed in on a specific part of the document.

A glowing, high-quality picture appeared right in the middle of the subway station.

It was a picture of a young woman.

She couldn't have been older than twenty-two.

She had flawless golden hair, tied tightly back in a strict military braid.

She wore bright white-and-gold armor. It was completely pristine, entirely untouched by the dirt and blood of the ruined world.

On her back was a massive, glowing bow that radiated intense, pure heat.

"Marcus Thorne didn't put a squad of regular soldiers on the train," Nyx said.

Her voice dropped to a terrified whisper. She looked up slowly at Kael.

"He put a single guard on the cargo. The Vanguard's newest top-tier hero."

Seraphina let out a sharp, horrified gasp.

The Fallen Valkyrie stumbled backward, her heavy boots scraping against the tiles. Her hand flew to her mouth.

"No," Seraphina breathed. Her golden eyes were wide with pure, absolute tragedy. "He wouldn't... Marcus wouldn't use his own blood for this."

Kaelen Cross stared at the glowing picture.

The temperature in the room dropped like a stone.

But this time, it wasn't Vespera's demonic power. It was a wave of pure, absolute, suffocating dread coming directly from the very bottom of Kael's soul.

He knew that face.

He knew those eyes.

Ten years ago, when she was just a little girl, she used to sit on his shoulders while he walked through the city.

She used to call him Uncle Kael.

"Lyra," Kael whispered.

For the very first time since he crawled out of hell, his rough voice completely cracked.

"Lyra Thorne," Nyx confirmed. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably. "Marcus's little sister. The public calls her the Sun-Bringer."

Nyx swallowed hard. She looked at the dead, empty expression on Kael's scarred face.

"She thinks you are a monster, Kael," Nyx said softly, her voice breaking.

"Marcus brainwashed her. He told her that you went crazy ten years ago... and that you murdered your own friends before jumping into the monster rift."

The silence in the subway station was crushing.

It was an absolute, world-ending silence.

Vespera floated slowly down to the ground. The demon could feel the massive, dangerous shift in Kael's emotions.

She didn't smile. She didn't mock him. She simply watched him in silence, her crimson eyes completely unreadable.

Kael stood perfectly still.

He stared at the beautiful, innocent face of the girl he used to protect.

Marcus Thorne wasn't just hiding behind a giant wall anymore.

He was hiding behind the one person Kaelen Cross had sworn to never, ever hurt.

Up in the corner of his vision, the massive cosmic chat had gone completely, utterly dead.

Over a million and a half viewers were holding their breath.

[User DragonBoredom: ...Oh. This is a very cruel game.]

[User Galactic_Simp_42: Wait... Kael is actually frozen. I have never seen him like this. 💔🥺]

[User BloodGod: ...EVEN I DO NOT ENJOY THIS. THE GOLDEN KING IS A COWARD. 🩸🤬]

Kael slowly reached down. His scarred, calloused fingers wrapped around the heavy grip of his sniper rifle.

He didn't scream. He didn't break the floor in a blind rage.

His silver eyes simply went completely, utterly cold.

It was a coldness that was darker and deeper than the Abyss itself.

"The plan hasn't changed," Kael rasped. His voice was an empty, terrifying void.

Seraphina stared at him in absolute horror.

"Kael... you can't kill her."

Kael didn't look at the Paladin.

He looked straight into the invisible camera of the stream.

"We board the train," Kael stated.
