Chapter 1060: Chapter 57

"No way, you mustn’t say things like that to anyone in the future. It’s very impolite, you know! Unless your brother tells you to call her sister-in-law, you can’t call her that casually." Go Biqing had no choice but to coax as he spoke, he couldn’t possibly get angry at Gwen.

After Go Biqing’s careful guidance, Gwen finally listened to her most trusted brother. Once he received her assurance, Go Biqing turned and boarded the car again.

"What were you talking about just now, a farewell between siblings?" Murong Qing asked casually after Go Biqing got into the car.

Go Biqing paused slightly, then said, "It’s nothing, Nana is still young; she doesn’t think much before she speaks. Don’t take it to heart."

Murong Qing smiled softly, seeing Go Biqing offering an explanation, and said, "No worries, at her age, it’s the time to be innocent. I think it’s wonderful."

Go Biqing didn’t think much of it at the time, assuming Murong Qing was very fond of Gwen and thus didn’t mind her random remarks.

The car continued driving and eventually arrived at a cluster of villas, stopping in front of one that Go Biqing would never forget. It was in this villa that he first met Zhou Jiaying, leading to a very imperfect encounter.

After Zhou Jiaying said goodbye to Murong Qing and Go Biqing, she left. Murong Qing drove and said, "I’ll take you home first. Tomorrow is your first day at work, it’s better to go early and leave a good impression on your boss."

Go Biqing nodded without saying much. At this time, being alone with Murong Qing, he felt the atmosphere was a bit off. After thinking for a while, he concluded he was probably overthinking things; the girl didn’t seem nervous or afraid, so why should he worry about trivial things?

When they arrived at the apartment, Go Biqing got out of the car and said, "Well, I might not be able to play with you and Zhou Jiaying in the future. My work hours are quite long, from around five in the morning to eight in the evening, and my rest time is uncertain. But I’ll let you know when I can take a break. Good night."

Murong Qing smiled with narrowed eyes and said, "Okay, let’s play when you have a break."

Unfortunately, Go Biqing didn’t notice that Murong Qing’s narrowed eyes seemed to hold some "ill intent" when he turned around.

Early the next morning, Go Biqing got up and hurried to Tianheng Company. Upon arrival, he realized this company might not be as ordinary as he had understood. To be precise, the online information was not accurate at all. Every company at a job fair would talk about their resume, but this information was only placed a little ahead of their recruiting stands, and could be searched online. But none of these indicated that it was quite a large company. This was why Go Biqing thought it was just a small unknown company; everything was revealed by the door and sign he saw.

After entering the company’s main entrance, Go Biqing asked the receptionist before heading to the HR department. Upon entering, he saw the middle-aged man from the job fair.

It was then that Go Biqing realized that this man wasn’t just any employee in the HR department; he was actually the HR manager. It’s surprising that such a big company would have the manager personally recruit for a miscellaneous role. Go Biqing saw quite a few employees along the way, with at least fifty people by estimation, and this was before the actual working hours.

"You’re here, pretty early, aren’t you, Go Biqing is it? Let me reintroduce myself. I’m Wang Meng, the HR manager. The business card I gave you that day was temporarily made without clear details. Since you’re here today, I assume you’ve accepted the job. If possible, you can start tomorrow. Initially, you were supposed to start today, but considering you need to move in, we postponed it for a day." The middle-aged man said simply.

Upon hearing about moving in, Go Biqing wondered when he said he was moving. Seeing Go Biqing’s puzzled expression, Wang Meng smiled and said, "Didn’t you tell me yesterday you wanted to move into the company and help with night shifts? It was approved yesterday afternoon, and considering you’d be doing two jobs this way, we agreed to it. In the past, apart from security and duty staff, we didn’t have specific night watch personnel. But since you’re willing, we’ll let you have a go at it. However, the salary might not be double; after discussions, we decided on a monthly salary of eighteen hundred yuan plus three benefits. The company will still cover two meals. How does that sound?"

Go Biqing hadn’t expected any extra pay, but now he understood. Living here equates to having two roles, and external night watchers earn at least eight hundred yuan, but his pay only increased by six hundred. Technically, Tianheng Company benefits, but Go Biqing doesn’t mind the extra two hundred yuan as more money is always welcome.

"No problem, I think the salary is reasonable. Can I move in right now?" Go Biqing thought for a moment before agreeing.

"Certainly, the sooner the better. You have the whole day today anyway. Here’s the contract; take a look if you’re okay with it, sign it." Wang Meng took out a contract from the drawer and handed it to Go Biqing.

Although Go Biqing verbally agreed and Wang Meng said so, Go Biqing carefully reviewed the contract. In today’s world, contracts should never be signed impulsively due to numerous fraud cases or instances where one finds their rights violated but can’t complain due to not thoroughly examining the contract.

After reading the contract, Go Biqing found nothing inappropriate, signed it, and returned it to Wang Meng. Wang Meng took out a copy and returned it to Go Biqing; this was a two-part contract.

"Xiao Li, come in, take the new colleague to get a work badge, and show him the accommodation. He’s Go Biqing; I’ve mentioned him to you." Wang Meng called a young woman in after storing the contract.

Then, under the guidance of this woman surnamed Li, Go Biqing went to the general affairs department, wrote his name, and was informed that he would be notified to collect his badge in a few days.

Then, this Li led him to a corner on the first floor, opened the door, and Go Biqing realized it was evidently a storeroom, seemingly just cleared out.

"The bed hasn’t been delivered yet; it was ordered yesterday, but it might just be a foldable bed, apologies for that. There’s no wardrobe or anything here, but if you need one, you can apply to the general affairs department. However, I personally advise against it as they don’t bother with such matters; even when you resign, they might not have bought it for you. It’s best if you buy a simple wardrobe yourself; simply put, there will only be a bed here, and everything else must be purchased by you." The woman with black-framed glasses, very efficient-looking, gave Go Biqing a heads-up.

Appreciating her kindly reminder, Go Biqing smiled and thanked her: "Thank you, I still don’t know your name."

The woman instinctively glanced at her chest, seemed to recall something, then said, "Sorry, I got used to it, forgot I dropped my work badge two days ago. I’m Li Mei, you can call me Secretary Li or Assistant Li at work, but casually call me by my name privately."

Seeing the second employee he met in the company was quite friendly, Go Biqing naturally responded with a warm smile: "Then I’ll rely on Assistant Li to guide me in the future. Please point out any shortcomings."

"Not at all, after you start work tomorrow, come to my office for an employee handbook with some notes. As for minor details, I’ll mention them slowly when I have time." Li Mei said with a smile.

After Li Mei’s introduction, Go Biqing joined her to the front desk. Li Mei informed the receptionist, otherwise Go Biqing might not have been able to bring his luggage into the company as the security would hassle him first.
