Chapter 1058 -55: Moving

“No way, you can’t talk like that to anyone in the future. It’s very impolite, you know! Unless your brother asks you to call her sister-in-law, you can’t just call her that.” Go Biqing finally had to coax her, what else could he do? He couldn’t bring himself to get angry at Gwen.

Section Ten: Moving

After Go Biqing’s careful guidance, Gwen finally listened to her most trustworthy brother. Once he got her assurance, Go Biqing finally turned around and got back in the car.

“What were you talking about just now? Sibling farewell?” Murong Qing asked relaxedly after Go Biqing got in the car.

Go Biqing paused briefly and said, “Nothing much, Nana is still young, she doesn’t put much thought into things when she talks, don’t take it to heart.”

Murong Qing saw that Go Biqing was actively explaining to her and smiled slightly, “Not at all, kids at her age are supposed to be innocent, I think it’s nice.”

Go Biqing didn’t think much about it either, assuming Murong Qing genuinely liked Gwen and therefore didn’t mind her ramblings.

The car continued driving and finally arrived at a villa complex, stopping in front of a villa that Go Biqing would never forget. It was in this villa that he first met Zhou Jiaying, in an encounter that was far from perfect.

After Zhou Jiaying and Murong Qing bid farewell to Go Biqing, they left. Murong Qing said while driving, “I’ll take you home first. Tomorrow is your first day at work, it’s better to go early to make a good impression on your boss.”

Go Biqing nodded and didn’t say much. At that moment, with just one man and one woman, Go Biqing felt the atmosphere was a bit off. After thinking for a while, he decided he might be overthinking it; the girl wasn’t being shy or scared, so why should he dwell on irrelevant thoughts?

When they arrived at the apartment, Go Biqing got out and said, “Well, I might not be able to hang out with you and Zhou Jiaying anymore. My working hours are quite long, from around 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., and I’m not sure about the rest schedule. But I’ll let you know if I have time off. Goodnight.”

Murong Qing smiled with partially closed eyes and said, “Alright then, let’s hang out during your time off.”

It’s a pity Go Biqing didn’t notice Murong Qing’s slightly “mischievous” undertone in her squint as he turned away.

The next morning, Go Biqing got up early to head to Tianheng Company. Upon arriving, he realized this company might not be as ordinary as he expected. To be precise, the online information was not accurate at all. Every company at a job fair usually introduces itself a bit. However, these are usually placed in front of their recruitment booths, and can be found online. But none of this indicated that it was a relatively large company. That’s why Go Biqing, like others, thought this was just an unknown small company. Why he thought so was because the entrance and the sign said it all.

After entering the company’s gate, Go Biqing asked the receptionist and went directly to the HR department, where he saw the middle-aged man from the recruitment fair.

Only then did Go Biqing realize that this man was not just an HR employee, but actually the HR supervisor. He couldn’t believe such a large company would have a supervisor personally handle recruiting a runner. As Go Biqing made his way through, he saw quite a few employees, roughly estimating the number to be no fewer than fifty people, and this was before the official working hours.

“You’re here, quite early, huh? Go Biqing, right? Let me introduce myself again, I’m Wang Meng, HR Supervisor. The business card I gave you that day was a makeshift one, not clearly indicating my position. Since you’ve come today, it seems you’ve accepted the job. If possible, you can start working tomorrow. Originally, you should have started today, but considering you need to move, it’s postponed by a day.” The middle-aged man said casually.

Go Biqing was puzzled about moving. When did he say he was moving? Seeing his puzzled expression, Wang Meng chuckled and said, “Didn’t you tell me yesterday you wanted to move into the company to live and help the company at night? The higher-ups agreed yesterday afternoon, and considering you’re effectively doing two jobs, we used to have no specific night watch staff except security and on-duty employees. But since you’re willing, you should take it on. However, the salary might not reflect double pay. After our discussions, we’ve decided on a monthly salary of one thousand eight hundred yuan plus insurance, and the company will cover two meals. How does that sound?”

Initially, Go Biqing didn’t expect extra pay, but now he understood he was essentially doing two jobs. For night watch outside, the minimum had to be at least eight hundred. His salary only increased by six hundred, so ultimately Tianheng Company gained more. However, Go Biqing wasn’t bothered by the two hundred yuan; he was glad to have more money.

“No problem, I think the salary is quite reasonable. Can I move in now?” Go Biqing thought for a moment and agreed. “Of course, the sooner the better. You have the whole day anyway. Here’s the contract; you can take a look. If everything’s okay, just sign it.” Wang Meng pulled out a contract from a drawer and handed it to Go Biqing.

Though Go Biqing verbally agreed and Wang Meng said so, Go Biqing still carefully reviewed the contract. In today’s world, contracts shouldn’t be signed rashly; there are too many fraud cases or situations where rights are infringed upon, but cannot be appealed due to not carefully reviewing the contract.

After reviewing the contract, Go Biqing found no issues and signed it, handing it back to Wang Meng, who returned a copy to Go Biqing; it was a two-part contract.

“Xiao Li, come in for a moment, take this new colleague to get a work badge, then show him the accommodation. He’s Go Biqing, the one I mentioned to you.” Wang Meng called out to a young woman after securing the contract.

Following this woman surnamed Li, Go Biqing went to the General Affairs Department, wrote down his name, and was informed that he would be notified to collect the work badge in a few days.

Then, led by the Li-surnamed woman, Go Biqing was taken to a corner on the ground floor, and upon opening the door, he realized it was clearly a storage room, seemingly recently cleared out.

“The bed hasn’t been delivered yet; it was ordered yesterday, but it’ll likely be just a camp bed, sorry about that. There’s no wardrobe either. If you need one, you can apply to the General Affairs Department. However, I personally advise not to apply, as such matters aren’t something they handle readily. Maybe even by the time you quit, they still won’t have ordered one. You’re better off getting a simple wardrobe yourself. Simply put, there’ll only be a bed here; the rest you’ll need to purchase yourself.” Said the woman in black-rimmed glasses, who was quite capable and offered Go Biqing an advisory note.

Grateful for her advice, Go Biqing smiled kindly, “Thank you. I haven’t gotten your name yet.”

The woman instinctively looked down at her chest, as if remembering something, and said, “Sorry, I’m used to it and forgot I lost my work badge two days ago. My name is Li Mei; you can call me Secretary Li or Assistant Li. Of course, those are workplace titles; privately, just call me by my name.”

Seeing that the second employee he met in the company was rather friendly, Go Biqing naturally returned the warm smile, “Then please guide me in the future, Assistant Li. If there’s anything off, please let me know directly.”

“Sure, after work tomorrow, come to my office for a copy of the employee handbook. It has some notes, and as for small matters, I’ll slowly tell you whenever I have time.” Li Mei said with a smile.

After being introduced by Li Mei, Go Biqing went with her to the reception desk. Li Mei spoke to the receptionist, otherwise, Go Biqing might not be able to enter the company with his luggage, as security would cause trouble first.

After everything was settled, Li Mei bid farewell first. Go Biqing greeted the receptionist, who also spoke to the security. Only after getting security’s consent did Go Biqing leave.
