Chapter 190: East Gate Battle III
Pandora did not reply further and just continued casting magic spells.
Icicles, fireballs, earth spikes, lightning spheres, magic missiles, and a variety of other low rank magic manifested before her staff.
Eldrin observed the rate of her casting and noticed that she was able to cast two magic spells at the same time, "Double silent casting, eh? Not bad, but..."
"...you still have a long way to go." He continued as he waved his staff.
In an instant, ten low to middle rank magic spells of varying elements manifested before him.
Pandora remained unperturbed, not even batting an eye as she concentrated on perfecting her casting.
Her mind wandered at the scene earlier when the old man cast his master rank magic.
The way the mana flowed and the beautifully intricate formula engraved in the magic circle remained vivid in her mind.
’My gift is Perfect Copy. I can perfectly copy others along with their mistakes...’
This meant that "Perfect" Copy was like a double-edged sword in the way that when she used something she copied, she would be able to do it exactly as the person did it.
In short, she would also inadvertently copy their magic spells along with their inconsistencies and errors.
At this moment, Pandora’s ruby red eyes blanked as she seemed to fall into a trance.
With every magic spell she cast, the fluctuation of her mana decreased as its circulation became stable.
The way the magic circles manifested before her also became intricately beautiful as time passed by.
Upon closer observation, it was reminiscent of how Eldrin cast his magic earlier.
This time, what Pandora was copying was not his master rank magic itself, but his technique of casting magic.
Of course, Eldrin, being an experienced mage, noticed this.
His wrinkly face was filled with surprise as he muttered beneath his breath, "Would you look at that..."
"To think that she would be able to improve that much just by seeing me do it onc—"
Eldrin’s eyes squinted, "No, she’s doing it exactly as I did."
’Although I know the gist of her gift’s ability, I didn’t expect it to be this outrageous...’
A technique he had refined all over the decades of his life, all imitated just like that.
His heart was filled with bittersweet feelings at the thought, though it disappeared immediately the next second.
’Well, this is better...’
An unknown light flashed in Eldrin’s eyes.
He then continued casting magic spells, supporting the warriors below who had already started to move.

Below the battlements...
As the demonic cavalry neared the walls, Larkson immediately ordered.
"Warriors, focus on the skeletal beasts on the front!"
"Archers, aim for the cavalry on the sides!"
"Mages, bombard their rear with magic to avoid harming our allies!"
"No one dies today!!"
"Charge!!!"
Hearing their commander’s dignified voice, the fortress warriors all roared in unison.
"For Bakurad!!!"
At this moment, Killian rushed towards the skeletal beasts beside Larkson.
"Kid, do you know how to kill those beasts in the fastest way possible?"
"It’s through their cores, right? Like liches, they don’t have typical weaknesses like organs, so it must be their cores."
Hearing his answer, Larkson raised his brow, "Oh? It seemed like nobles do indeed receive education from an early age. Seems like you studied hard, huh?"
"Well, I won’t exactly say that." Killian scratched his cheek with a shy expression.
"What do you mean?"
"I used to get punished for skipping my classes."
"Haha! I didn’t expect you not to be prim and proper like other nobles."
"Well, I was just more interested in playing. But my father always caught me..."
"My daughter behaved just like you in the past. So, did you study hard to avoid punishment?"
"Not exactly... I just finished the year’s worth of materials my tutors prepared for me in a month and perfected their tests so I could spend the rest of the year playing."
The words he heard made Larkson surprised..
At this moment, they were already near the horde of skeletal beasts nurtured by the demonic humans.
Killian then looked at him and said, "I’ll be going first, Commander. Let’s talk again sometime after the battle."
"Don’t you dare die, Kid."
"Haha, don’t worry about me."
Seeing the blond boy accelerating towards another direction as lightning sparks surrounded him, Larkson could not help but mutter, "That boy... is quite special as well."
’He was able to run beside me despite being more than a Star Realm below...’
Although Larkson was not running at full speed, he was still exerting a considerable amount of strength.
Moreover, the gap in physical prowess, aura capacity, and overall power widened significantly with each increase in Star Realm.
A battle between a One Star and a Two Star warrior might lean in favor of the latter, but when the gap was between a Two Star and a Three Star, the lower-ranked warrior would be fortunate to survive even ten minutes.
Considering that Larkson was at the Peak Stage of Three Star while Killian was at the Early Stage of Two Star, such a feat was commendable.
Larkson eyed the boar-like skeletal beast towering over two meters tall, its jagged tusks nearly half his height.
"Well, I can’t myself be outdone by a kid now, can I?
[Bull Charge]
His figure shot toward the skeletal boar.
Their initial clash sent a mild shockwave rippling outward.
GRRRR—-
The skeletal boar growled, the blue flames that served as its eyes flickered violently.
Gripping both of its tusks, the two locked in a brutal struggle, each pushing against the other in a fierce contest of strength.
"Haa—"
Larkson shouted as his muscles bulged, outlined by his clothes.
Due to the urgency of the battle, he did not have the time to wear his heavy armor.
After several seconds of grappling, Larkson surged with power and drove the boar backward, slamming it into the skeletal beasts behind like a living battering ram.
GRRRR—-
ROAAARRR—-
The growls and roars of the skeletal beasts echoed across the battlefield as Larkson wielded the massive skeletal boar like a bludgeon, sweeping through the horde with brute force.
The boar, having already lost their contest of strength, could do nothing but let out a low, defeated growl as it was reduced to a mere weapon in his grasp.
"I didn’t expect him to like showing off so much..."
Killian smiled as he glanced at Larkson, who was causing a huge commotion in the middle of the battlefield.
He then looked at the mammoth, bear, and several other huge skeletal beasts that were currently charging towards him.
"Unlike the commander, I don’t specialize in strength..."
Killian took a deep breath, "It’s my first time trying this, but..."
"...I think this is the perfect place to test my new aura art!"
A chant left his lips as he leaned forward.
[Lightning God’s Descent Variation]
[Lightning God’s Impulse]
Bzzt—
A low hum of electricity coursed through his body as he took a step.
In the blink of an eye, he had already leapt above the mammoth-like skeletal beast, landing with a heavy thud behind it.
The sheer speed of what happened caused other skeletal beasts to flinch before resuming their charge.
However, Killian immediately disappeared from his spot and appeared behind the group of skeletal beasts.
Crash— Thud— Thud—
A second later, the mammoth-like skeletal beast crashed down, followed by the other several skeletal beasts.
GRRR—-
"I’m successful!" Killian exclaimed with joyful eyes.
THUM— THUM— THUM—
But before he could celebrate further, the thunderous sound of the charging skeletal beasts echoed in his ears, each step shaking the ground beneath him.
Killian did not waste any time as a second sword made of blue lightning appeared in his hand along with his other steel sword.
Then, with an excited expression on his face, he disappeared from his spot.
In the next second, he appeared under one of the skeletal beasts’ ribcages and thrusted his sword at the dark colored core inside.
This scene repeated hundreds of times in just half a minute.
Every time Killian appeared, it would be directly near the cores of the skeletal beasts.
If one were to observe closer, only the faint hum of lightning echoed within him, yet not a single spark flickered in the air.
This was due to the unique nature of his newly mastered aura art.
Lightning God’s Impulse was the second variation he made with Lightning God’s Descent.
The first was Lightning God’s Wrath, which focuses the enhancement of the latter in an instant, thereby decreasing the consumption and the strain it had on his body while maintaining its power.
On the other hand, Lightning God’s Impulse only focused on the lightning that coursed through his body.
Normally, Lightning God’s Descent makes his lightning aura erupt inside and out, providing him with an extreme enhancement in both speed and power.
This was alongside the tremendous damage that it dealt to his body in the process.
His first variation minimized the consumption and damages in exchange for shortening the duration to an instant.
However, his second variation purely focused on enhancing his thought process and the way his brain delivered signals throughout his body.
This maximized the speed enhancement while forsaking the eruption of lightning aura outside his body, which provided the boost in power.
"Since I still can’t use the aura art comfortably at my current level, I’ll just adjust it according to my needs."
Killian muttered as he swung his swords endlessly, a skeletal beast falling every time he did so.
