Goblin Dependency
Chapter 1238 - 609: Review and Gains
This is absolutely not an opponent I can handle!
The mysterious, high-pitched wolf howl accompanied by a gust of wind that pricked the skin surged around, the suffocating pressure causing York Shaw to nearly lose the ability to think calmly, only instinctively thinking this under the will to survive.
For adventurers, many times there’s no need for direct confrontation; just based on the visual impression of the opponent’s performance in battle is enough to recognize the disparity in strength.
If one cannot even clearly see the specific movements of the enemy in front of them, only glimpsing vague afterimages.
When the crew behind had been utterly defeated, and he just reacted.
York Shaw felt this battle seemed unnecessary to continue.
Offering everything he had, trampling so-called dignity underfoot, abandoning all resistance and begging for mercy, might perhaps scrape a chance of survival.
Otherwise, what awaited him would only be a meaningless death.
Unfortunately, perhaps because of the immense pressure from the black haired Adventurer opposite, so overwhelming that it rendered thought impossible.
Just as York Shaw decided to cast aside his sword and surrender.
His two teammates, merely with a Professional Level of Level 1, had already, under his despairing gaze, charged at the black haired Adventurer who had leaped onto the deck.
One wielding a one-handed axe, a muscular and robust green-skinned Orc, and one an agile Wanderer dual-wielding Short Swords.
Having fought side by side for years, they’ve developed considerable rapport and combat experience.
Even without much communication, at this critical moment, the two displayed outstanding cooperative combat ability.
The two figures approached from left and right, forming a pincer attack.
The Half Orc was positioned forward, while the Wanderer slightly behind.
The former aimed to draw the enemy’s attention to the maximum extent and hold him in check, while the latter sought to exploit the chance to deliver a decisive blow from the blind spot.
In their hasty cooperation, it was actually quite a decent performance.
If the one standing in the middle facing the pincer attack were replaced with another Level 1, or even a slightly weaker Level 2 or Level 3 adventurer, there might indeed have been some chance of success.
But presently...
Their probability of success wasn’t much higher than suddenly having a meteor fall from the sky.
"Ah!!!"
Standing over two meters tall, the light green skin nearly bursting from the bulging muscles below.
Seemingly using some kind of sprinting Battle Skill, each step left cracks in the deck surface below.
The Half Orc charged, iron axe raised high, roaring.
But at that moment, the long-uncleaned boots suddenly stepped on a piece of flesh of uncertain origin left by some unlucky sailor, slipping disastrously!
While the Professional Level grants considerable control over the body, not completely falling, yet losing balance, with his center of gravity shifting backward, his body involuntarily slid forward.
No time to adjust posture.
In the next second, a terrifying dark silver from below, exuding a deathly aura, slashed diagonally to his skull.
The special effect from the Shattered Tide Anchor Shin leg guards delivered a kick with enhanced damage, executed with full force by Xia Nan.
The right leg anchored the body, while the mid-body rotated with force, the left leg lashed out like an iron whip.
No possibility of survival.
The Half Orc’s roar abruptly stopped, his skull exploding like a watermelon and pieces flew overboard into the sea.
No matter what, even at the cost of his life, the Half Orc completed the distraction plan.
Allowing the slightly slower Wanderer from another side, wielding twin blades, to close in on Xia Nan.
Buzz—
Utilizing a Battle Skill, shadow energy wrapped the sword surface like a certain solidified mist.
Yet before it fell, an unforeseen force suddenly yanked the wrist clutching the dagger just before the Wanderer could exert power!
This force wasn’t particularly strong in itself, but the sheer suddenness left no room for reaction, instantly disrupting the attack preparation movement.
No chance to re-adjust posture and exert again.
A dark arm shield infused with gravity energy, causing the surrounding air to faintly distort, smashed into his skull from the side.
"Crack."
Mingled with sticky white fluid, fragments of flesh, bone, and blood exploded instantaneously.
The headless body flew diagonally forward under impact inertia.
One round.
From Xia Nan’s stepping onto the deck, less than three seconds passed before the two professionals no longer had the chance to breathe.
Watching the brutal scene unfold before him.
York Shaw was almost frozen on the spot.
It was hard to find words for his emotions at that moment.
Regret for moving closer out of greed, the frustration of his hard-formed team’s collapse, the despair of impending death...
All these emotions intertwined, assaulting the last of his rational mind.
He tried to drop his longsword and surrender to the opponent.
But immediately, from in front, the whistling of a sword slicing through the air forced him to once again grasp the sword hilt tightly, following the battle instinct, holding the longsword in front of him.
"Ding!"
Sparks erupted.
The pink crystalline short dagger collided with the ordinary blade.
