Goblin Dependency
Chapter 1191 - 587: Gravely Wounded (Part 3)
The chance to win flashed by in an instant. The move might be risky, but right now there was no time to worry about that.
His legs suddenly exploded with Strength against the deck, and his body became a Black Wolf shadow leaping high into the air.
In his hand, the [Ash Fall] Straight Sword gathered russet-red Energy along its surface.
He aimed at the Shark Beast’s head, and the [Gravity Etching] that only had one use left was just about to come crashing down.
But right at that moment, as if it sensed the threat carried by the sword edge wrapped in Force Field Energy—
The already enormous Blood Skin Shark Beast, besieged on all sides, suddenly swelled another circle in size.
Its muscles writhed and turned into surging Strength. In an extremely brief span, it forcibly endured the Striped Catman Sasha clinging to its back, the barbarian Aken at its belly, the captain Lorin at its flank, and even the vines and seaweed from Druid Hai Yin wrapped around its body, and still managed to twist and complete an Evasion turn.
Its speed, its explosive power, were so overwhelming that even Xia Nan in midair failed to fully react.
But the sword was already swung; there was obviously no room to pull it back.
Only on pure instinct, relying on his intuition to manipulate Gravity in the air and adjust his position, trying as hard as possible not to let this all-out strike fall into empty space.
"Wooo–BOOM!!!"
The russet-red Force Field Energy became an arcing sword light, slashing down from above at an angle.
The sword blade in his hand transmitted the sluggish resistance of flesh and bone being carved apart.
Foul, fishy blood splashed straight onto Xia Nan’s face.
The final stored use of [Gravity Etching], because of the Blood Skin Shark Beast’s sudden dodge, failed to smash its skull the way he’d imagined.
But thanks to Xia Nan’s midair adjustment as he fell, it at least didn’t land completely on nothing.
"Boom-rumble..."
Blood gushed uncontrollably from the cleanly severed break.
The shark tail, lined with a dorsal spine-blade, was like a fish tail chopped down hard on a chopping board; it traced a scarlet arc through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.
"ROAR!!!"
Humiliation, rage, hatred... The searing pain from its rear tail, and the instinctive dodge it had just made after sensing a threat, made the Blood Skin Shark Beast feel an unprecedented sense of shame at this moment.
It came from the Divine Country, descended into the Material Realm under the grace of the great Divine. It should have upheld its Lord’s will, leading the Fishmen to open a glorious first stroke in that conquest aimed at the entire ocean.
Yet now, not only had the Sacrificial Ceremony been disrupted, forcing it to endure this half-crippled body from the moment of its arrival, it had been thwarted time and again. The Fishman Priest that was supposed to assist it had been killed right before its eyes, and even these lowly little vermin on the battlefield, like ants, actually dared to take the initiative and attack it.
"You maggots..."
"You all have to die!!!"
Wumm—
An extremely dense, bloodlike liquid radiance burst out around the Blood Skin Shark Beast, surging outward from its body as the center.
The few adventurers who had just been seizing the chance to widen its injuries while it was badly wounded were hit by the blood light and seemed to take some kind of massive blow.
The Striped Catman clinging to its back had no time to Evade, spat blood and was blasted backward, even the furry long tail behind him that he used to maintain balance lost its usual liveliness;
Lorin was knocked over by the shockwave, thrown into total Imbalance and tumbling endlessly backward. His left calf was visibly twisted, pale bone jutting out;
Aken, positioned at the beast’s side-belly, was almost directly tagged in the face by the blood light blast. With a series of "crack-crack-crack" sounds, his chest caved in. No one knew how many bones broke; he immediately lost consciousness, dropping into a severe-injury coma state, blasted high into the air before crashing back down.
Xia Nan’s reaction was relatively quick. The instant he sensed danger, he instinctively raised his Arm Shield in front of him.
Because of that, compared to the other adventurers, although he didn’t suffer severe injury on the spot when the blood light hit him, his mind was still briefly dazed by the impact.
But his body remained close by the Shark Beast, not far away, rather than being knocked far from it.
So before Xia Nan could even fully regain his senses after the blood light shock, he was struck by the Shark Beast’s second follow-up attack.
Just like before.
A webbed iron fist almost as large as half his body, its surface wrapped in dense blood light—
Carrying surging Strength, it scraped past his Arm Shield, warped his chest armor, and slammed heavily into Xia Nan’s body.
"Bang!"
The pitch-black Powerful Qi shattered apart.
His scarred body was blasted away like a cannonball, the force so great that he skimmed along the sea surface for a long stretch before finally dropping into the Water.
Blood-tinged, the spray exploded upward.
