Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons
Chapter 655: Growing Stronger.
The trenches fell into an eerie silence as the last Pressurefang Wolf collapsed onto the blood-soaked ground.
Its body lying motionless among the countless corpses scattered throughout the battlefield. The Alpha wolf, which had fought fiercely until the very end, was no different.
Its massive gray body remained buried beneath the shadow of the undead Horn Lizard King’s enormous cudgel, while blood continued spreading across the muddy ground around it.
Now, not a single wolf remained standing.
The pack that had once ruled this twenty-kilometer-deep region had been completely wiped out.
The trench walls were stained with blood, while scattered pieces of rock continued falling from the damaged surfaces.
Even after the fighting stopped, the heavy atmosphere refused to dissipate.
The undead remained scattered throughout the trenches, their weapons still stained with blood as they stood among the fallen wolves.
Thoren sat atop his undead Greater Dune Scorpion, quietly observing the scene before him.
His gaze moved across the countless dead wolves, eventually settling on the massive corpse of the Alpha.
The corners of Thoren’s lips lifted slightly.
He tried to suppress the smile, maintaining his usual calm expression as he surveyed the battlefield, but the faint curve gradually spread across his face until he could no longer hide his satisfaction.
He was truly happy.
If the third floor had followed the same rules as the two previous floors, he might not have thought too much about the Pressurefang Wolf.
But things were different on this floor.
What truly changed everything was the notification blinking at the corner of his retinal.
Thoren had noticed it while surveying the battlefield, and his attention had immediately shifted toward the small panel that refused to disappear.
’Although I might not be able to grow stronger now...’ His eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the notification continue blinking.
’As long as my undead keep growing stronger, everything is good.’ The thought alone was enough to make his smile widen.
Without hesitation, Thoren opened the notification and a series of messages immediately appeared before his eyes.
[Congratulations! Your undead servants have leveled up.]
[Level Up!]
[Level Up!]
[Level Up!]
[...]
Thoren stared at the notifications for a moment and then, a quiet chuckle escaped his lips.
All his undead had jumped by two levels.
The undead Horn Lizard King, the undead Scorpion Men King, the undead Storm Tyrant, the undead Royalty Stonewall, and the other undead servant had all reached Level 42.
Thoren’s eyes brightened as he examined the notifications.
When his undead were still Level 40, they were already terrifying opponents. Their physical strength, and ability to fight without fear had allowed them to overwhelm their enemies.
The battle against the Pressurefang Wolves had demonstrated their effectiveness. And now, they had become even stronger.
Their increased levels meant that their already formidable physical abilities had improved further, making their attacks more dangerous.
He could already imagine various possibilities.
What would happen when his Level 42 undead encountered another formidable beast?
The possibilities filled his mind, and for a moment, he found himself looking forward to the next encounter more than he should have.
’I can’t wait to test their strength against a formidable foe.’
His fingers rested lightly against the side of his mount. However, before his imagination could carry him too far, Thoren shook his head and let out another quiet laugh.
’I’m getting ahead of myself.’
He closed the notification panel.
Besides, he still had a more immediate task to complete and quickly, his attention shifted back toward the dead wolves.
For a brief moment, Thoren remained silent as he surveyed the battlefield, his gaze moving from the ordinary Pressurefang Wolves to the massive body of their fallen Alpha.
Then, a wide grin slowly crept across his face. He had nearly forgotten the most important part.
Without hesitation, Thoren raised his hand slightly and whispered the familiar commands.
[Undead Summoning]
[Bone Manipulation]
The atmosphere immediately changed.
A cold wave of undead energy emerged from the ground, spreading across the battlefield like a dark mist.
It flowed between the fallen wolves, curling around their motionless bodies before seeping into their flesh and bones.
The muddy ground trembled faintly.
The first wolf twitched.
Its limbs jerked against the ground before slowly pulling beneath its body. Its eyes opened, no longer carrying the vitality of a living beast but the eerily of the soul fire.
It rose to its feet.
Nearby, another Pressurefang Wolf followed.
Then another.
The Alpha wolf was among the last to rise.
Its eyes opened.
The ferocity that had once burned within them had been replaced by the cold, lifeless presence of an undead creature.
In less than three seconds, the entire Pressurefang Wolf pack was back on its feet.
The battlefield that had previously been filled with corpses was now occupied by a new army of undead wolves, with the powerful Alpha standing among them.
Thoren watched the transformation with satisfaction.
A whistle escaped his lips.
His eyes moved across the newly created undead wolf pack, and the excitement in his expression became increasingly difficult to conceal.
The battle had already strengthened his existing undead, and now he had added dozens of new undead servants to his collection.
It was an excellent result.
Without wasting any more time, Thoren recalled the undead wolf pack into his Undead Space.
One after another, the wolves disappeared from the battlefield until the trenches were once again empty. ℴ
Thoren looked toward the darkness stretching deeper into the trenches.
He had already traveled more than twenty kilometers, and the battle against the Pressurefang Wolves had proven that this region contained creatures powerful enough to challenge even his growing undead army.
However, he was not scared or nervous. On the contrary, he was pumped up, excited to face the beast lurking in the darkness.
Between his undead and them, who was going to last longer. Just thinking of it made his heart race with anticipation.
Slowly, his undead Greater Dune Scorpion began moving forward, carrying him deeper into the darkness while the remaining undead followed closely behind.
"Thirty kilometers... Here I come."
