Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 587: The Dark Corridor.

  • Next Chapter

Thoren walked through the dark corridor without uttering a word. Two undead shield soldiers walked in front of him; their massive shields held firmly in their hands as they moved deeper into the building.

Behind him, two ordinary undead servants followed silently, their weapons tightly gripped as they maintained their formation around their master.

The corridor was dark and empty, with only the faint sound of their footsteps disturbing the suffocating silence.

Open rooms lined both sides, their entrances like black mouths leading into complete darkness.

He occasionally glanced toward the open rooms along the corridor, but he did not enter any of them.

To him, there was no need to. The Vorlath Blood Compass in his hand was still pointing deeper into the facility.

Whatever he was looking for was somewhere ahead.

Walking through the dark corridor for a few minutes, Thoren gradually realized something unusual.

The corridor was not level.

It had been descending the entire time.

At first, the slope had been so slight that he had barely noticed it, but the longer he walked, the more obvious it became.

The corridor was spiraling downward, twisting deeper beneath the ground with every turn. More importantly, the temperature was dropping.

The difference was subtle at first and then, it became impossible to ignore.

The cold air brushed against Thoren’s skin as he continued downward, and each breath carried a faint chill that lingered in the atmosphere.

The darkness ahead seemed to grow heavier with every turn.

Even the footsteps of the undead seemed strangely distant as the corridor continued descending into the unknown.

There was nothing ahead.

Nothing behind.

Only darkness.

Just then, Thoren halted on his track and narrowed his eyes while the two undead shield soldiers stopped and formed a tight shield wall before him.

The ordinary undead behind him also came to a halt. And for a moment, nothing happened.

The corridor remained deadly quiet and even the air seemed to stop moving. To others, the quiet might hide what lies ahead but to him, he could see through the illusion.

His perception was like a hot blade cutting through darkness. Slowly, he shifted his gaze and stared in a particular direction.

There, he saw them.

Their aura was extremely well concealed, and their presence had been carefully suppressed to prevent detection.

Unfortunately, all their preparation was useless against Thoren. Their concealment was nothing but glowing light in the darkness, impossible to miss.

His perception had already reached a level where ordinary concealment techniques could no longer fool him.

Hidden around the bend were five people. To be precise, they were five members of the Slave Trade Guild. Each gripping their weapon tightly, staring at Thoren and undead servants like vipers.

Suddenly, the surrounding temperature seemed to drop another degree as two enormous figures emerged from the darkness.

They were the undead Storm Tyrant and the undead Garron. The moment they appeared, the narrow corridor suddenly felt much smaller.

Thoren looked toward the hiding spot of the Slave Trade Guild members and gave a simple command.

’Kill!’

Instantly, the undead Storm Tyrant and the undead Garron charged forward all at once.

Boom!

The floor violently trembled beneath their feet.

The undead Garron’s first step sent a heavy vibration through the corridor, while the undead Storm Tyrant charged forward with his massive hammer swinging slightly beside his body.

The five people hiding within the darkness immediately realized that they had been discovered.

’How is this possible?!’

They had intended to ambush Thoren. Instead, they had been detected before they could even make their move.

From the darkness, the five members of the Slave Trade Guild were stunned when they saw their plan going south.

Their eyes widened and their mouths opened slightly. Their bodies stiffened as the undead charged toward them.

One assassin’s fingers tightened around his daggers, while another swallowed hard, unable to hide the disbelief spreading across his face.

They had carefully concealed their presence as they waited for Thoren to arrogantly fall into their trap. But somehow, he had discovered them.

And instead of approaching cautiously, he had simply summoned two powerful undead and ordered them to attack.

Quickly, the five members of the Slave Trade Guild recovered from their shock.

"Charge!" One of the warriors shouted.

The five figures immediately rushed out from their hiding spots.

The two assassins moved first.

Their bodies became blurred as they accelerated forward, daggers flashing inside the darkness. Behind them, the three warriors charged forward with their weapons raised.

Since their ambush had failed, their only option was to meet the undead head-on.

The first warrior swung his sword toward the undead Storm Tyrant.

Clang!

The massive hammer blocked the attack.

The impact produced a deafening metallic sound that shook the corridor while the cracks spread on the warrior’s weapon.

Before he could recover, the undead Storm Tyrant swung his hammer.

Whoosh!

The enormous weapon tore through the air and the warrior quickly jumped backward.

Boom!

The hammer smashed into the ground, cracking the stone floor and sending fragments flying through the corridor.

At the same time, the second warrior attacked the undead Garron from the side.

His blade slashed toward Garron’s waist and the undead Garron twisted his body while it massive butcher knife immediately came down.

Clang!

The two weapons collided.

The warrior’s expression changed as an overwhelming force traveled through his arms.

He was pushed several steps backward.

The third warrior immediately stepped forward to support him, swinging his weapon toward undead Garron’s head.

Without any fanfare, the undead Garron raised his butcher knife.

Bang!

The attack was blocked and it responded with a powerful kick.

Boom!

The warrior was struck directly in the chest and sent flying backward. He crashed into the wall hard enough to crack the stone.

Meanwhile, the two assassins had disappeared. They moved through the darkness, attempting to circle behind the undead Storm Tyrant.

One appeared behind him.

The dagger flashed.

Clang!

The blade struck the undead’s armor and only for it to bounce off. Seeing this, the assassin’s eyes widened.

Before he could pull his weapon back, the undead Storm Tyrant turned. Its enormous hammer swung horizontally.

Whoosh!

The assassin ducked beneath the weapon just in time and the hammer smashed into the wall behind him.

Boom!

Stone exploded outward while the assassin rolled across the floor before quickly jumping back to his feet.

The undead Storm Tyran simply pulled his hammer from the damaged wall and charged forward again.

At the same time, the undead Garron swung his massive butcher knife.

Whoosh!

The third warrior raised his weapon to block to block

Bang!

His entire body was driven backward.

His boots scraped against the stone floor as he desperately tried to resist the force while he watched a portion of his weapon shattered into fragments.
