Chapter 412: The Horn Lizard King Promise (Message Chair Bonus Chapter)

Inside the Horn Lizard King’s residence, Solenne sat confidently, staring at the intimidating creature seated upon the throne.

The spacious hall remained deathly quiet.

"Human, your guild has done a great assistance to my Horn Lizard Clan," the thick voice of the Horn Lizard King boomed throughout the hall.

His deep voice echoed repeatedly against the stone walls.

Even the torches flickered slightly under the overwhelming pressure he unconsciously released.

Who would have thought his archenemies would have humans abducting his people under his nose?

Even though he had his town under his strict control. He never expected such an insidious action would still happen under his watch without him knowing.

The discovery had completely exceeded his expectations.

For years, he believed every important movement inside Horn Lizard Town was under his surveillance.

What irked him the most was that those bastards were selling his people to the Scorpion Clan.

That was something he could never tolerate.

The Horn Lizard Clan had fought against the Scorpion Clan for generations.

He gripped the armrest of his throne tightly, and a cracking sound echoed inside the room.

The sturdy armrest slowly crumbled beneath his claws. Small fragments fell onto the floor one after another.

He had been biding his time against the Scorpion Clan, waiting for the right moment to launch a surprise attack.

Until the right time arrived, he did not want to clash directly with the Scorpion Clan.

His clan still needed more preparation.

But now, he could no longer pretend he was not furious.

"Human, you have my word." The Horn Lizard King slowly leaned forward upon his throne.

His serpentine eyes remained fixed on Solenne.

"When you need help against the Scorpion Clan, my army will respond to your call." His voice was calm.

Yet every word carried unquestionable authority.

Listening to the Horn Lizard King’s promise, a slow, faint smile crept onto Solenne’s face. The objective of her visit had finally been accomplished.

Having the Horn Lizard Clan remain neutral was already a success. Receiving their promise of military support was even better than expected.

"Your Highness, thank you for your trust in us." She gave a curt bow before rising to her feet.

"I promise you won’t regret this." Her voice remained respectful.

"That would be for the best." The Horn Lizard King slowly nodded.

His massive tail gently coiled around the base of the throne.

With that, she departed from the King’s presence. Her footsteps echoed softly throughout the grand hall.

The Horn Lizard Guards silently watched her leave.

Watching her departing back, the Horn Lizard King blinked twice, his thoughts impossible to guess.

His expression remained unchanged from beginning to end. No one inside the hall could discern what was going through his mind.

It was not that he was truly moved by Solenne and her guild’s actions.

With his intelligence, he could clearly see humans were not different from one another.

They were only slightly better than each other.

They were outsiders, trying to prey on them and absorb all their resources.

From the moment the humans first appeared in the Bleeding Desert, they had brought nothing but chaos.

Some hunted beasts.

Some plundered ruins.

Others sought the secrets hidden beneath the endless dunes.

In the past, he had also waged war against them, but instead of their numbers reducing, they kept increasing.

No matter how many were killed...

More always appeared.

It was as if they were endless.

They appeared almost every day in their world.

Their arrival had become a common sight.

At first, he believed they were nothing more than insignificant insects.

Then those insignificant insects gradually became a force capable of threatening the balance of the Bleeding Desert.

What made him give up attacking humans was their rapid growth. It was something that defied common sense.

While he had remained at his current level for many years, he had seen many humans who had only recently appeared attain his current level in less than a year.

Some even surpassed the strongest warriors of the Horn Lizard Clan in an unbelievably short period.

Such growth was unheard of among the beastmen races. That alone made him realize the terrifying potential of the human race.

The Horn Lizard Clan spent generations nurturing a single powerful fighter.

Humans only needed one to two years.

Some needed even less.

Such a race could not be judged by ordinary standards.

Thus, instead of continuously going against them and putting his species on the brink of annihilation, why not accept the inevitable?

With this realization, he allowed the humans to stay freely within his town while he maintained strict control over the town’s daily activities.

Slowly, he turned and looked in the direction of Scorpion City. The only city that had stood proudly for hundreds of years.

The strongest power within the Bleeding Desert and the eternal rival of the Horn Lizard Clan.

His reptilian eyes narrowed slightly.

For countless years, no one had ever truly shaken the foundation of that ancient city.

But now...

The arrival of the Grim Reaper had introduced an unknown variable. Whether it would become the beginning of the Scorpion Clan’s downfall.

Or merely another failed rebellion.

...

...

Outside, Riven and the others were waiting patiently. The atmosphere remained unusually quiet.

None of them spoke.

Their eyes were fixed on the entrance of the Horn Lizard King’s residence.

Suddenly, they raised their heads when they heard the sound of approaching footsteps.

When Solenne appeared, Riven approached her with an anticipatory smile.

"How was it? Did the Horn Lizard King agree?" he asked quickly, unable to contain his curiosity.

His question immediately attracted everyone’s attention. Every guild member subconsciously looked toward Solenne.

Solenne looked at him for a moment before her gaze shifted toward the other members of her guild.

She could clearly see the curiosity in their eyes.

The Horn Lizard King’s decision would determine whether the next stage of their plan could proceed smoothly or not.

She nodded. "The King accepted. We can now hope everything goes according to plan."

Ha!

Many couldn’t help but exclaim in elation. Several members exchanged excited glances.

If the Horn Lizard King refused to come to their aid, their mission would be deemed a failure.

Everything they had prepared would become much more difficult. The pressure from both the Scorpion Clan and the Horn Lizard Clan would become unbearable.

A slow smile appeared on their faces and their confidence gradually returned.

As for the other part of their plan, they did not worry too much. Their trust in the Grim Reaper had reached an extremely high level.

Even though he was going against the most powerful clan on the Crimson Dune, they strongly believed he would come out on top.

This was not blind confidence.

It was the understanding of how fearsome the Grim Reaper truly was.

"Guild Master, what about the Twins Party?" Riven whispered.

He had not forgotten the final matter that still required Solenne’s attention.

"Lead the way. Let’s settle everything now," Solenne responded as she began to walk forward.

While Solenne and the members of the Crimson Arc Guild were going to meet the Twins Party, news of the destruction of the Silver Crest Guild spread throughout Horn Lizard Town like wildfire.

The rumor moved from one street to another at astonishing speed.

It was no secret that the Silver Crest Guild was very strong, with many powerful awakeners.

For many years, they had been considered one of the strongest human factions within the Crimson Dune.

Compared to them, the Crimson Arc Guild had been nothing more than bigger ants that could be crushed easily.

But now, everything has changed.

Standing in front of the ruins of the Silver Crest Guild, many still could not believe their eyes.
