  1. Blood-Colored Cube

"A temple?"

Lin Ye looked around. This really was a temple. He had thought that impostor was just spouting nonsense.

"I heard it from those cultists too."

Grelis secretly observed Lin Ye's expression. She still didn't know who Lin Ye was.

"Which side did you come in from?"

The architectural structure of this temple was quite complex, and it didn't conform to normal architectural principles.

This was also Lin Ye's first time encountering a building constructed entirely from cubes.

"I was sent in by those cultists, but when I tried to return the way I came, the terrain near the entrance had already changed."

Grelis answered.

"You can follow behind us."

Lin Ye continued exploring this cube building, but this time he didn't move in a single direction. Instead, he constantly turned back to check the sections he had previously passed through, analyzing the patterns of how the terrain changed here.

But Lin Ye didn't discover any patterns. The terrain changes here were most likely random.

'If the terrain changes randomly, then there's no need to search for an exit.'

Lin Ye opened the World of Ashes and took out a Starfish Ornament, tossing it onto the ground.

The Starfish Ornament rapidly expanded, and in the blink of an eye, it transformed into a two-meter-tall giant starfish.

Lin Ye then took out the Spiral Bayonet from the World of Ashes and threw it to the Starfish Ornament.

The Starfish Ornament caught the Spiral Bayonet and thrust it forcefully at the nearby Blood-Colored Cube.

Before contact was even made, the Spiral Bayonet tore apart the Blood-Colored Cube. A large amount of blood-colored powder swirled and drifted into the surroundings, splattering everywhere.

Through Spiritual Perception, Lin Ye noticed that those blood-colored particles were actually extremely tiny Blood-Colored Cubes.

"Make it stop! Otherwise we'll all turn into those cube creatures!"

Grelis hurriedly spoke up.

"It's fine. I'll deal with the cubes that get close to us."

Lin Ye deployed a layer of Spiritual Energy Mental Energy Mixed Protective Field nearby, blocking those scattered Blood-Colored Cubes outside.

"Are you sure? I don't want to turn into a cube creature!"

Grelis moved closer to Lin Ye, afraid of coming into contact with those scattered blood-colored particles.

"I'm sure. Keep up."

The Starfish Ornament used the Spiral Bayonet to continuously destroy Blood-Colored Cubes. Lin Ye followed behind the Starfish Ornament and entered into the interior of those Blood-Colored Cubes.

"If those cultists move the entire temple in front of us, what do we do?"

Grelis glanced worriedly behind her. That area had already been sealed off by Blood-Colored Cubes.

"Then we'll destroy the entire temple."

Although he said that, Lin Ye wasn't a fool who only relied on brute force, so he made the Starfish Ornament speed up its advance.

The Spiral Bayonet was incredibly effective. It could destroy Blood-Colored Cubes without even making contact. The Starfish Ornament's movement speed determined how fast they could destroy the temple.

After receiving the command, the Starfish Ornament began to accelerate, smashing out a passageway in front of Lin Ye.

Lin Ye closely followed behind the Starfish Ornament, and soon they broke through those Blood-Colored Cubes and moved into another area.

"We're out just like that?"

Grelis followed behind Lin Ye in surprise. She hadn't expected the Cube Space that had trapped her for so many days to be broken through just like that.

"Why else would we come out? You want to have a party in there?"

Lin Ye looked around. The surrounding area was still a space composed of Blood-Colored Cubes, except this side was relatively open. The ground was covered with strange corpses made of Blood-Colored Cubes, and there were also some bizarre statues made of Blood-Colored Cubes nearby.

"...This might be the temple's main area. Did we go the wrong way?"

Grelis looked back. That passageway had already been sealed off by Blood-Colored Cubes.

"We didn't go the wrong way. I don't need to get out anyway, remember?"

Lin Ye was here to kill someone. If his perception wasn't mistaken, that bastard who performed the ritual should be right ahead.

"Uh, can I get out?"

Grelis just wanted to escape from here as quickly as possible.

"Once I deal with all the enemies, you can leave."

Lin Ye hadn't yet figured out how to deal with that bastard who performed the ritual, but that didn't matter.

"...Don't you think I'm in the way?"

Grelis followed behind Lin Ye, trying to stay as far away from the nearby corpses and statues as possible.

"You mean... you want me to deal with you first?"

Lin Ye gave Grelis a strange look.

"No, I didn't say anything. You don't need to worry about me."

Grelis widened the distance a little.

"Good. I don't like attacking people who have nothing to do with this."

Lin Ye suddenly turned to look toward the front right. He sensed a human there who seemed connected to this place.

The Starfish Ornament vanished instantly. A few seconds later, it returned to Lin Ye's front, impaling a man in a blood-colored robe.

"Go on, tell me. Why did you bring me here?"

Lin Ye spoke up.

"...You actually got out? How is that possible?"

The man stared at Lin Ye in shock.

"As long as I break the walls, I can get out, right? You didn't think I'd actually play around in a maze in there, did you?"

Lin Ye answered with a hint of contempt.

"Break? The temple will rapidly restore itself. No matter how fast you destroy it, you can't escape from inside!"

The man's voice was extremely agitated.

"Is that so? I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. So those mediocre-quality Blood-Colored Cubes can rapidly repair themselves... Do you have some misunderstanding about the word rapid?"

The Spiral Bayonet was a Dangerous Relic capable of destroying the vast majority of substances. If Lin Ye didn't have the Spiral Bayonet, it truly would have been difficult to escape from inside.

"You damned cultist! How dare you look down on my Lord!"

The man struggled continuously beneath the Starfish Ornament's thick limbs, but he couldn't do anything. He could only watch as Lin Ye revealed a contemptuous expression.

"This is my first time being called a cultist by someone else. Which deity do you believe in? Don't tell me it's a deity who governs cubes?"

Lin Ye still didn't know what godforsaken place this was.

"...You don't deserve to know my Lord's name."

The man fell silent for a moment before answering in a low voice.

"So it's a spineless, cowardly waste of a deity... Don't tell me it's also a mass-produced product from the system?"

Lin Ye felt this possibility was quite high.

"Hmph. You are destined to become sacrificial offerings for my Lord's revival. I'll be waiting for you down below."

The man revealed a fanatical smile. His body began to rapidly expand, and surging energy burst out from within him.

BOOM!

Lin Ye and the others quickly retreated. The Starfish Ornament stood in front of them, bearing the force of the explosion.

A large amount of blood-red powder slammed into the Starfish Ornament's body and merged into it.

The man was also made of Blood-Colored Cubes, just with an even more minuscule cube specification.

That was why Lin Ye couldn't control the man. He could only parasitize Flesh-and-blood Creatures. He couldn't parasitize a pile of Blood-Colored Cubes.
