Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator
Chapter 906: Deserted Island Survival
- Deserted Island Survival
"Then what else do you want to talk about? Do you need me to come over and keep you company?"
Lin Ye put away the Deep Well Substance, gazing at the grille before him in the darkness.
"No need. I'm just bored out of my mind."
A spiritual imprint came back from the other side, and the ritual ended.
Two more minutes passed, and the grille opened once more.
"I'm trapped on a rather unusual deserted island. I need a way to escape from here."
A spiritual imprint was sent over from the other side.
"Do you need me to transform you into a sea creature? If it's a particularly dangerous environment, I can also craft some body structures that can adapt to the surroundings."
Lin Ye quickly provided his solution to the problem.
"...Uh, could you come over here? The situation on my end is a bit complicated."The other side advanced the ritual process, and a mental passageway appeared where the grille had originally been.
"Alright."
Lin Ye extended his mental energy into the mental passageway, sensing its structure, and very quickly his mental energy entered into a body.
"...No way? This is the body you prepared for me?"
Lin Ye looked up speechlessly at the young man standing before him.
He was currently inside the body of a rat. That in itself wasn't a big problem. After all, the other party was doing deserted island survival and lacked resources, which was understandable.
But the problem was, they weren't standing on an ordinary island.
Beneath Lin Ye's feet was the corpse of a giant marine creature floating on the red sea surface, and many similar corpses drifted nearby. The other party could have picked any one of those corpses at random and it would have been far better than a rat.
"Please don't misunderstand. There are major problems with those corpses. I went through great trouble to find a relatively safe carrier."
Anton looked at Lin Ye warily.
"Let's just say that's the case... Why are you wearing women's clothing? Is it because there are no clothes to wear here?"
Lin Ye actually didn't want to interfere with the other's personal preferences, but not asking seemed a bit off too.
"This is men's clothing... In our region, this is men's clothing."
Anton answered with some embarrassment.
He didn't want to dress like this outside either. It was mainly because his friends all said he looked more suitable dressed this way.
"...Let's just go with that, then."
The fleshy tissue beneath Lin Ye's feet wrapped around the rat's body like a living thing. A large amount of fleshy tissue converged toward him, merging into the rat's body.
Before long, a dark-red rat as tall as Anton appeared before him.
"Is this really okay? These aren't ordinary corpses, you know."
Anton stared at the 'rat-man' before him. If he weren't unable to escape, he would have been tempted to run for it.
"It's just a Red Sea tributary. I'm more familiar with this place than you are."
Lin Ye surveyed the surroundings. A large number of grotesque corpses floated on the sea surface, and some corpses had been fixed midair by some kind of force.
"Then can you send me away from here?"
This was Anton's second time using that ancient ritual. He had absolutely no idea about Lin Ye's background.
"I just need to gather some materials, and I can build a simple portal. Though where it teleports to is hard to say.
If you don't want a random teleport, I can also take you out by boat."
The two methods had different pros and cons. Lin Ye preferred leaving by boat since it was safer, though he had no idea when they would be able to swim out.
"...Let's take the boat, then. I don't want a random teleport. But is there even a boat here?"
Anton was well aware of the risks of using a portal here. One careless mistake and he might be teleported into the real Red Sea.
"As long as there are sufficient raw materials, making something with the same function isn't as difficult as you think."
The giant marine creature under their feet began to swim forward. It was a creature born in this place to begin with, so Lin Ye didn't even need to make many modifications.
"I think going that direction should get us out of this area, though I can't be sure."
Anton pointed in the opposite direction.
"You guessed wrong. If you want to enter the Red Sea, that direction would work."
The Parasitism Network spread out through the seawater. Lin Ye could just make use of the creatures here to create some new parasitic nodes.
"...So that's how it is. Could you also save the survivors nearby? There are other people who fell into this area too."
Anton didn't know whether Lin Ye would help him.
"They should all be more or less dead by now. Do you need me to bring their corpses along?"
Lin Ye didn't think ordinary people could survive long in this kind of environment.
"...No need."
Anton didn't want to see the corpses of people he knew, nor did he know how he would handle them.
The giant marine creature swam swiftly across the sea surface. Lin Ye pulled a bone fishing rod from its body and cast a line into the water.
Unlike the nightmare world, the fishing line smoothly entangled a Fleshy Monster. Before the Fleshy Monster could even resist, it was pulled right in front of Lin Ye.
"Want some?"
Lin Ye cleaned the Fleshy Monster's corpse in a few quick moves. He figured he might as well roast something to eat.
"No, thanks."
Just looking at that Strange Fish made Anton feel uncomfortable all over.
Lin Ye ate the roasted fish alone. Some Fleshy Monsters swam toward the giant marine creature, but before they could get close, they were transformed into parasitic organisms by the Parasitism Network.
Anton sat beside the fire, clutching his stomach. Smelling the aroma of roasted meat, he felt even hungrier.
About twenty minutes later, a fat red rat burst out of the water and crawled up beside Lin Ye.
"Squeak squeak."
The fat rat squeaked twice at Lin Ye.
"...Good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?"
Lin Ye turned his head and said to Anton.
"Good news."
Anton looked at the fat rat, and a sudden sense of foreboding welled up in his heart.
"I found land."
Lin Ye handed a bone-in piece of roasted meat to Anton.
"Could the bad news be that we went the wrong way?"
Anton looked at Lin Ye with expectant eyes.
"The bad news is, just ten minutes ago, the last piece of land on this plane sank into the depths of the sea. You've become the last surviving person on this plane."
Lin Ye answered with complete calm.
"...Haha, stop joking. This isn't funny at all."
Anton forced a stiff smile onto his face.
"If you want a painless suicide, I can help you with that."
Lin Ye couldn't attack Anton, but he could give him a reasonably sharp weapon.
"...I don't believe it."
Anton couldn't accept this outcome.
"I'm not a psychiatrist. I can't make you face reality. The problem now is, this plane is already finished. How do you want to handle your commission?"
Lin Ye could send Anton to another plane, but Anton might not agree to it.
"...I'm ending the ritual. You can go back now."
Anton sat beside the fire, staring blankly at that bright red sea.
