Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator
Chapter 821: The Expanding Colorful Space
- The Expanding Colorful Space
After observing for a while, Lin Ye realized he was inside a building completely different in structure from the teaching building.
Distorted colors covered every part of the building.
Those colors were stirring restlessly, already crawling up to Lin Ye's shoes.
Lin Ye tried to shake the colors off his shoes but found that they simply wouldn't come off.
The colors had already merged into the interior of the shoes and changed their structure and properties.
Lin Ye didn't know what would happen after being covered by this kind of color, but it definitely wasn't anything good.
"It looks like I need to find a place without colors as soon as possible, or deal with the anomalous phenomena here quickly."
Lin Ye quickly left the space that was originally a classroom. Under the influence of the colors, everything around him had become chaotic. The flowing colors caused both physical and mental discomfort.
Thud!
Lin Ye jumped to the side, dodging a colorful stone block.Outside the door stood a colorful creature, and the colorful stone block was what it had thrown.
Lin Ye didn't bother picking up the colorful stone block. Instead, he threw the Relic Fragment as a weapon.
The Relic Fragment struck what might have been the colorful creature's head. The creature let out a scream and turned to merge into its surroundings.
Lin Ye didn't chase after it. He simply picked up the Relic Fragment and walked toward the most chaotic concentration of colors.
Before long, Lin Ye encountered Kamen, who was covered in colors.
"Are you alright?"
Lin Ye hadn't expected the other person to end up like this in such a short time.
"I'm fine, this is camouflage. I deliberately smeared some dye on myself."
Kamen quickly walked over to Lin Ye's side. She had finally found someone to latch onto.
"You'd better not get too much on you. This stuff isn't right."
Lin Ye's feet had already been stained with colors, and he felt like his feet seemed to have turned into something else.
"I'll be careful. So what should we do now? Go look for the Relic Vault?"
Kamen wasn't about to forget the purpose of coming here.
"I'm planning to deal with the thing sealed deep inside the building. If you want to go find the Relic Vault, you'd better not come with me."
Lin Ye didn't want to travel with these unreliable people. If they suddenly did something reckless, they might get him killed again.
"Don't be like that. This place is too chaotic, I can't find my way at all. Boss, can you take me along?"
Kamen didn't want to wander around on her own.
"Up to you. Decide for yourself."
Lin Ye didn't say much more and walked straight toward the direction with the most chaotic colors.
Soon, a few more students gathered nearby. Although the structure of the teaching building had changed, the distances between them hadn't shifted much.
Lin Ye ignored the students and continued deeper into the building. The surrounding colors seemed to be expanding the building's interior space, and the terrain inside was becoming increasingly complex.
"Do we really need to keep going deeper?"
Gao Ping felt like the space here was infinitely multiplying.
"I'd suggest you all run back now... but it seems it's already too late. If you had run back when we first arrived, it might have been possible."
Lin Ye suddenly stopped in his tracks. At the rate this building was multiplying, they would never find the thing sealed here.
"I know which direction the exit is, but we might not be able to escape."
Faced with this situation, even Kamen was thinking about retreating, even if the Relic Vault really was ahead.
"We can't escape anymore. And there are lots of colorful creatures around. If we wander randomly, they might kill us by throwing stones."
The colors had already spread up to Lin Ye's ankles, and the rate of spread was still accelerating.
"Then what should we do? I can hold them off for a while."
Gao Ping dodged a colorful stone block. The colorful creature that had thrown it had already hidden itself within the surrounding colors.
"Let me think."
Lin Ye had no options right now. He couldn't solve the problem of spatial expansion with an ordinary human body.
Right now, his only choices were to die and start over, or use his Special Ability.
The problem was that they hadn't even found the enemy's lair. The Special Ability could only be used once. If he used it now, it wouldn't be available in the next simulation.
Lin Ye thought for only half a second before making his choice. He decided not to use the Special Ability for now.
After all, in the current situation, even using the Special Ability would be meaningless, unless he was willing to gamble that the Conch's Treasure could solve the problem here.
"Isn't that someone coming over there?"
Kamen dodged a colorful stone block and pointed into the distance.
Lin Ye looked in that direction. A figure with normal coloring was moving slowly through the chaotic colors.
Lin Ye had seen that figure before. It was the female student who had been lying in the middle of the sports field observing the starry sky.
"Hello, where are you going?"
Lin Ye ran up to the female student and asked.
"...I'm going to observe the starry sky."
The female student glanced at Lin Ye and answered calmly.
"Can we come with you?"
Lin Ye felt that she was likely connected to the colorful object that had appeared in the sky earlier.
"...Fine."
The female student led the way, with Lin Ye and the others following behind her. A large number of colorful creatures gathered nearby, but they didn't attack.
Lin Ye observed the colorful creatures as he walked. He didn't believe these colorful creatures would just stand by and watch.
"No matter how long we walk, it's pointless, right? I can feel the space around us expanding. We've been walking for so long, but our surroundings seem completely unchanged."
Nancy moved closer to Lin Ye and spoke in a low voice.
"It's not that there's no change. It's that everything around us is repeated scenery. It looks like we're walking in place, but there are actually subtle changes happening. That means we should be getting close."
Lin Ye could see the differences within the colors. The other side clearly wanted them to give up going deeper.
"Really? I can't see any difference at all."
Gao Ping's eyes were going crossed from staring, and he still couldn't see any change.
"...I think I can see a small mountain made of relics over there."
Kamen stared into the distance and whispered.
"It's fake. Only an idiot would fall for something like that. Do you think they're having a clearance sale of old junk?"
This was the first time Lin Ye had seen such an exaggerated trap.
"It's precisely because it can't possibly be real that it feels strange... What if it actually is real?"
Kamen looked at that direction with a hint of longing. If that mountain of relics was real, she could retire immediately after this job.
"Then go ahead."
Lin Ye continued following the female student. He didn't want to start over again.
"Isn't that the relic mountain you mentioned?"
Gao Ping stared in shock at the pile of various relics not far away, subconsciously taking a step toward it.
"Dammit, I can't hold back anymore. It's dangling right in front of me."
Kamen could sense the aura of a massive number of relics from that direction.
