Chapter 310: Chapter 243: New Energy (Part 2)

"We’ve already received several positive responses," Zhou Mei said to Ye Yun. "Representatives from the Oasis Shelter and Iron Fortress, in particular, are very interested in our efficient energy management systems and medical technology."

Ye Yun nodded in approval. "Excellent. Zhou Mei, Leo, your work is vital. We need to ensure this trade summit goes smoothly and brings us the greatest possible benefit."

"We plan to hold the summit in a week," Zhou Mei continued. "We’re already preparing the relevant presentation materials and drafting the trade agreements."

Leo added, "We’ll also be showcasing some of our latest technological achievements, like our energy converters and medical equipment. I’m confident those will pique their interest."

As the summit date neared, Zhou Mei and Leo became incredibly busy. They organized a dedicated team to prepare the presentation materials and collaborated with the research team to ensure all the tech products could be perfectly showcased at the event.

"Our energy management system is one of the shelter’s greatest strengths," Zhou Mei told the team. "We need to prepare a detailed brochure so visitors can understand its principles and benefits at a glance."

Meanwhile, Leo was guiding the team preparing the medical equipment demonstration. "Our latest medical devices have shown remarkable results in treating radiation sickness and trauma. We need to prepare some live demonstrations so the visitors can see what our equipment can do."

During the preparations, Zhou Mei and Leo also placed special emphasis on hospitality for the summit. They arranged a professional reception team to ensure every visitor would receive a warm welcome and that their questions and needs would be addressed promptly.

"We need our visitors to feel our sincerity and professionalism," Zhou Mei said during a meeting with the reception team. "This isn’t just a trade negotiation; it’s also an opportunity to showcase our shelter’s culture and spirit."

Leo also stressed the importance of details. "From the venue’s layout to the food and beverage arrangements, every single detail must reflect our professionalism and thoughtfulness."

At last, the day of the trade summit arrived. The shelter’s central plaza had been converted into a temporary exhibition and negotiation area. Zhou Mei and Leo led their team to welcome the representatives arriving from various shelters and settlements.

"Welcome to our shelter," Zhou Mei said with a smile to each arriving representative. "We’re delighted to have this opportunity to connect and collaborate with you."

Leo, meanwhile, explained the shelter’s technological achievements in detail to the representatives. "This is our energy management system," he began. "It significantly improves energy efficiency and reduces consumption."

The representatives showed great interest in the shelter’s exhibits. They stopped at each booth, engaging in deep discussions with the shelter staff.

"Your medical equipment is truly impressive," said the representative from the Oasis Shelter. "We desperately need equipment like this to improve our level of medical care."

"We’re also very interested in your energy management system," the representative from Iron Fortress stated. "We’d like to learn more about its operating principles and installation requirements."

Over the next few days, Zhou Mei and Leo held detailed negotiations with the various representatives. They discussed all sorts of potential trade agreements, from resource exchanges to technological partnerships. Every discussion was filled with collaborative potential.

"I believe that through this summit, we’ve not only been able to establish new trade relations but also forge deeper partnerships with other shelters," Zhou Mei said at the summit’s closing meeting.

Leo was also pleased with the summit’s outcome. "The technology and resources we showcased received high praise from the representatives. I’m confident this will lead to more opportunities for collaboration."

With the successful conclusion of the summit, the shelter’s residents heaped high praise upon Zhou Mei and Leo. They knew the event’s success had not only brought the shelter new resources and partnerships but had also paved a wider road toward their future.

Ye Yun was extremely pleased with the results of Zhou Mei and Leo’s work. He knew that these new trade relationships and collaborative opportunities would provide powerful support for the shelter’s long-term development.

"You’ve all done outstanding work," Ye Yun announced to everyone at the celebration. "It is your courage and wisdom that has made our home stronger."

Bena stood at the head of the conference room, a detailed geological map of the wasteland spread across the table before him. His sharp gaze swept over the team members seated around the table. Each one was a handpicked engineer or researcher with a unique set of skills and experience.

"Our energy systems need to be diversified," Bena said, his voice firm and strong. "We cannot rely on a single source of power, especially in this Wasteland World where resources are growing ever scarcer."

"You’re right, Captain," Engineer Li said, nodding in agreement. "We need to explore new energy solutions to ensure the shelter’s energy security."

Bena pointed to several markings on the map. "According to our geological survey data, these areas possess abundant geothermal resources. We can harness these natural resources to establish a stable geothermal energy system."

"Geothermal energy?" a young engineer asked curiously. "What kind of energy is that? How would we even harness it?"

Bena explained patiently, "Geothermal energy is heat from the Earth’s core. We can build geothermal wells to extract underground hot water or steam, then use special equipment to convert it into electricity."

"That sounds very promising," said Engineer Li, "but we’ll need to conduct detailed geological surveys and risk assessments to ensure the well locations and our development methods are safe."

"I’ve already assigned a survey team. They will begin work immediately," Bena said. "We need precise data to design our geothermal power plant."

Over the next few days, under Bena’s guidance, the survey team conducted a comprehensive exploration of the geothermal zones in the wasteland. They used seismic wave detectors, temperature sensors, and chemical analysis instruments to collect a massive amount of data on the subterranean rock layers and heat sources.

"Captain, we’ve found several ideal locations for the geothermal wells," the survey team leader reported to Bena. "The subterranean water in these spots has high temperatures and a strong flow rate. They’re perfect for development."

Bena nodded. "Excellent. We’ll choose the best location to build our geothermal power plant. We also need to factor in the construction of transmission lines and energy storage facilities."

Organized by Bena, the engineering team began designing the construction plans for the geothermal power plant. They considered multiple factors, such as environmental impact, construction costs, and operational efficiency, striving to design a system that was both economical and eco-friendly.

"We need to use high-efficiency heat exchangers and turbines," Engineer Li said during a design meeting. "This equipment can convert the geothermal water’s heat into electricity with very high energy efficiency."

"We also need to consider the long-term operation and maintenance of the geothermal wells," another engineer added. "We have to ensure the system can run stably without being affected by shifts in the subterranean rock layers."

After multiple rounds of discussion and revision, the design for the geothermal power plant was finalized. Bena immediately organized the engineering team and commenced construction. They drilled geothermal wells at the chosen site, installed heat exchangers and turbines, and built the necessary transmission lines and energy storage facilities.

A few months later, the geothermal power plant was finally completed and brought online. Its construction not only provided the shelter with a stable supply of energy but also drastically reduced its reliance on fossil fuels and lowered environmental pollution.
