Chapter 458: Chapter 215: Face Reality (2)

But in reality…

“I’ve got your head!”

“Give me back my head.”

“No. You actually let someone snatch your head in front of everyone, and then it got thrown away.”

“Give. Me. Back. My. Head!”

“Not until you admit you’re an idiot!”

“I said, give… me… back… my… head!”

“Come and get it if you can!”

Two clusters of Soul Fire pulsed rapidly, transmitting information through the Soul Network. Meanwhile, the surrounding Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors looked incredibly stern and stood in perfect formation, but in reality, their minds had already wandered. They were all silently enjoying the drama unfold over the Soul Network.

The headless body suddenly convulsed, shaking off the Ape on its shoulder and the one at its waist. It forcefully swung the Ape in its hand, tossing it aside, and then took off, charging toward its comrade.

Hearing the rumbling tremors behind her, the Leopard Woman’s pupils contracted. She whipped her head around to see the headless Skeleton charging in her direction. It gave her such a fright her soul nearly left her body. She hastily dodged, bracing for an attack, only to discover that the headless Skeleton charged straight past, paying her no mind at all.

The headless Skeleton reached out a large hand, grabbed its own head, and forcefully snatched it back.

“See? I came and got it!”

“Yes, you got it. It’s not like I wasn’t going to give it to you. But that doesn’t change the fact that you’re an idiot.”

“I’m going to smash you to bits with my hammer!”

“Go on, try it. You think our Lord won’t punish you?”

“…”

The exchange of information ended in an instant. The Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warrior whose head had been pulled off pressed it back into place, stared at his comrade for two seconds, then turned and walked toward the Apes again.

The three Apes knew they were in trouble. They huddled together, anxiously watching the approaching Undead. Their muscles bulged and their bodies tensed; they would strike back the moment their opponent made any move to attack.

To their surprise, the towering Undead didn’t attack. Instead, it once again raised its hand and pointed at the gateway.

‘He’s so insistent. Does he really have to make us go inside?’

‘I mean, your head just fell off. Don’t you need to rest for a bit?’

The three Apes exchanged glances, at a complete loss. The Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warrior finally lost its patience and took a step forward, raising its Hammer at the same time.

‘These three ugly creatures are not only disobedient, but they also made me lose face in front of my comrades. Maybe I should just smash them to death right here. There’s still that other Beastman, anyway.’

Seeing the Undead’s action, the three Apes knew they had no choice but to enter. If they didn’t, that hammer would probably come smashing down on them for real.

They immediately turned and walked toward the gateway. After taking two steps, they all looked back at the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warrior whose head had just been pulled off. Sure enough, it had lowered the hammer it had raised and was just silently staring at them.

‘So as long as we obey, it won’t attack us, huh?’

The Apes looked at each other, a sense of helplessness shared between them. They could only shuffle reluctantly, step by step, toward the gateway.

The Leopard Woman hesitated for a moment, and several Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors immediately took a step forward. Terrified, the Leopard Woman quickly backed away. She glanced at the three Apes who had already reached the entrance, then gritted her teeth and followed them.

She would rather enter that strange structure with the three Apes than face these Skeletons who could have their heads fall off without it being a big deal.

The four Beastmen entered the gateway with the same feeling of apprehension. Just as they stepped inside, they heard a series of grinding clicks from behind. The four Beastmen hastily turned to see the bricks moving again. The gateway vanished, the blocks returned to their previous positions, and the surroundings were plunged into darkness.

It was utterly silent in the darkness, so dark you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face, which caused an unconscious panic to rise in their hearts. The four Beastmen were at a loss. Unable to see a thing, they didn’t dare take a single step and remained obediently in place.

Just as they were hesitating, small blue flames lit up one by one, illuminating the area. They could now see their surroundings clearly. It would have been better if they hadn’t, because the sight was even more terrifying.

The walls were made of ghastly white bones. This wasn’t a building at all; it was clearly an underground tomb. And those blue flames were originating from within individual skulls, identical to the flames inside the heads of the Undead outside.

Although the scene made their hearts pound with fear, having some light was at least much better than the pitch-black darkness. The four Beastmen silently surveyed their surroundings. Aside from the walls made of bones, a suit of black Heavy Armor was placed about five or six meters away from them, as if on display.

The four Beastmen were hesitating about whether to move forward when the Heavy Armor suddenly moved. It turned toward them and began walking over, step by step.

‘Holy shit, it’s alive! Is there someone inside the Heavy Armor?!’

The Beastmen immediately grew tense, each assuming a defensive stance just in case. But when the Heavy Armor was about two meters away from them, it suddenly stopped.

“Follow me. My Lord wishes to see you.”

A deep and resonant voice echoed within their minds—no, not in their minds, but in their very souls!

The four Beastmen were stunned. They all swallowed hard. Having come this far, they were like lambs to the slaughter, stripped of the right to resist or choose. The only thing they could do was obey the words of the “Heavy Armor.”

The Black Knight paid no mind to the Beastmen’s reactions. It turned on its own and started walking forward. The Beastmen behind it hurriedly followed. The Black Knight’s speed wasn’t fast, but every step seemed calculated, the distance perfect to the millimeter. The Beastmen could only follow obediently.
