Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 434 207: Desolate Land of Death (2)
Two against one. There was no way they could let him escape.
After a short wait, the Dragon Lizard Lord's coordinates came through.
Once he had the coordinates, things became much simpler. Li Ziyu immediately ordered the Undead Fortress to change course and head in that direction.
Batubohe and the Dragon Lizard Lord were locked in a chase, constantly on the move. Batubohe simply sent updated coordinates every half an hour, allowing Li Ziyu to adjust his course in time so he wouldn't lose their trail.
To be on the safe side, Li Ziyu forwarded the coordinates to Zhang Peng. There was no need to send a separate copy to Liu Xingxing, as he had never left; the Treasure-Hunting Catman Fortress remained linked with the Undead Fortress.
Batubohe tailed the Dragon Lizard Lord for a full day, and the latter was starting to crack. It couldn't go on like this. He couldn't shake his pursuer, and their occasional clashes kept him constantly on edge. If he couldn't get rid of him, he would remain a major threat.

Arrogant Brother Ping: What the hell are you chasing me for? You got a death wish?! I swear I'll take you out if you keep following me! Piss off!
Soaring Eagle: Come on, then. If you've got the guts, come kill me!
Arrogant Brother Ping: Don't think I'm afraid to fight you. A war wouldn't benefit either of us, so there's no need. That's why I'm sparing your life. Don't be ungrateful!
Soaring Eagle: Come on, then. If you've got the guts, come kill me!
Arrogant Brother Ping: Big bro, I was wrong. Please stop following me, I'm begging you. We're all just trying to get by, there's no need for this. All this fighting is so pointless. Please~~~
Soaring Eagle: Come on, then. If you've got the guts, come kill me!
Arrogant Brother Ping: Can't you say something else?
Soaring Eagle: I'm just going to keep following you. What are you gonna do about it?
Arrogant Brother Ping: Shit! I've got to teach you a lesson. You just wait!
Soaring Eagle: Come on, then. If you've got the guts, come kill me!
In the main building of the Dragon Lizard Fortress, a young man in his early twenties stared at the system screen before him, grinding his teeth and fuming with anger.
'Batubohe, you son of a bitch. Why are you chasing me? What good will it do you to hunt me down?'
'The Transmigrator Lord Alliance Army lost. What does that have to do with me? It was clearly your own fault for being too weak. If I hadn't been a Fast Runner back then, wouldn't I have had to die right along with you?'
'How did everything get blamed on me in the end? So I took a few of your resources, and you helped me develop a little. What's the big deal? All of you came to this world earlier than me. What's wrong with helping me out? You're all so petty.'
'I've already pulled out of the Central Zone. I'm not competing with you for resources, and now I'm hiding in this remote place, but you still won't leave me alone. If you're so tough, why don't you go back to the Central Zone yourself? You're just as much of a beaten dog as anyone.'
Back when the Transmigrator Alliance Army in the Central Zone was about to go to war with a Native Strong Clan, the Dragon Lizard Lord, He Zhiping, was considered a relatively powerful Lord. Moreover, the outbreak of the war was not unrelated to him. But on the eve of the battle, who knows what he was thinking, but the guy secretly ran off without telling a single soul.
His desertion opened a gaping hole where he was supposed to be defending. With the defenses unmanned, the Native Strong Clan broke through, which led to the Alliance Army being flanked. Ultimately, the war was lost, and a great number of Transmigrator Lords were killed in battle.
He Zhiping knew about these battle reports, but he felt it had nothing to do with him. 'Who said I had to fight to the death? It wasn't necessary. If I feel like I can't win, am I not allowed to run?'
'As for whether the other Transmigrator Lords lived or died, what did that have to do with me, He Zhiping? As long as I can eat well and live comfortably, that's all that matters. I can't be bothered with anything else.'
He never felt that he had done anything wrong.
And when Batubohe and the other surviving Transmigrator Lords put the word out that they would kill him on sight, He Zhiping actually felt quite aggrieved, though he didn't take it too seriously.
'I was just looking out for myself. What's so wrong with that? Clearly, those other Lords were the stupid ones.'
'It's every man for himself.'
After fleeing the battlefield, he ran to a remote area. Relying on his Dragon Lizard Race and Mobile Fortress, he became a local tyrant, wreaking havoc on the Natives and causing widespread resentment. When the Natives of that area united to destroy him, He Zhiping ran away again. This time, the place he ran to was precisely the region Li Ziyu occupied.
He Zhiping never bothered to consider if this land already had a master. In his eyes, it made no difference. He figured that in such a barren Wasteland, any Transmigrator Lord there couldn't be very strong. He even mulled over the idea of destroying the local Lord if they were weak, which would net him a good amount of resources.
When Li Ziyu sent out the Undead to search for him, He Zhiping realized that the local Lord wasn't as weak as he'd thought. Still, they didn't seem so strong that he couldn't win a fight, either. So he decided to continue Plundering resources in this land to piss the other guy off, and once there was nothing left to gain, he'd move on to the next Wasteland.
If his opponent managed to catch him, it didn't matter. If he could win, he'd fight; if not, he'd surrender and beg. As for things like saving face, when had he, He Zhiping, ever cared about that? Resources and his own self-interest were the only things that were truly useful.
For his own benefit, he would sell out anyone—not just friends, but his parents, grandparents, and any other blood relatives.
He, He Zhiping, wasn't some sort of sophisticated egoist; he was just a plain and simple one. He couldn't care less whether other people lived or died.
But he never, ever expected that the Undead wouldn't be the ones to find him. Instead, he had run headfirst into Batubohe. And what he expected even less was that the Hydrogen People, who had once seemed incomparably mighty in his eyes, were now actually no match for him.
