But after taking just a couple of steps, he realized something was wrong. Zhang Peng would run for a moment and then, as if teleporting, suddenly vanish and reappear a great distance ahead. He quickly left Liu Xingxing in the dust, even turning back to make a face at him.

Liu Xingxing was so mad he was hopping on the spot. But since he couldn't catch up, he scratched his head, turned around, and ran back to the first-floor hall.

"Boss! Zhang Peng's bullying me! Did you turn him into a Ghost? How come he teleports every few steps?" Liu Xingxing complained, puffing his cheeks as he ran over.

"Tsk, don't look at me. You were the one who couldn't keep up. I only gave him basic permissions inside the main building," Li Ziyu said, suppressing a laugh as he spread his hands.

"Basic permissions?" Liu Xingxing asked, completely baffled. He didn't understand what Li Ziyu meant.

"Yep, basic permissions. He can move anywhere he wants inside the main building," Li Ziyu said with a shrug, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

'Are you kidding me? This building is over fifty meters tall!'

'In my past life, a six-story building was only twenty meters high, and climbing that was exhausting. Climbing fifty meters on foot would be brutal. Thankfully, this is a Magic World. The main building has permission settings. Once you have permission, you can move freely within it without having to run back and forth. It's even more convenient than an elevator.'

After hearing Li Ziyu's explanation, Liu Xingxing was having none of it. He shouted, "I want permissions too!"

Li Ziyu stopped teasing him. He reached out, tapped him, and gave Liu Xingxing basic permissions as well.

The moment he got the permissions, Liu Xingxing's figure vanished. He had gone to chase after Zhang Peng.

"They're just like kids. It's like they never grew up," Li Ziyu said, shaking his head with a helpless smile.

He didn't dislike this feeling. It was a good thing to maintain such a mindset in the Otherworld. 'Did we really need to be gloomy and depressed all day?'

Letting them be, Li Ziyu turned and gave the Cat Girl basic permissions. The Fox Maidens didn't need any; while they couldn't teleport freely around the Great Tomb, they could still phase through walls in the main building, making it easy for them to float around.

Li Ziyu took a walk around the main building. He didn't need to specifically pick a room for himself. After all, he could just claim whatever spot he liked. The entire main building was his; if he felt uncomfortable somewhere, he could just change it later.

Liu Xingxing and Zhang Peng would have to decorate their own chosen rooms, but Li Ziyu didn't have to. If he wanted something, he could just tell the system, and it could be created through the transformation of bone. Bookshelves, desks, chairs, beds, wardrobes—all of it could be crafted by the system.

The first floor of the main building had very high ceilings. It wasn't divided into rooms but was instead a single, massive open space that Li Ziyu could use however he pleased. Using it entirely as a living room would be no problem at all.

Having just upgraded to a Fortress, many new things had appeared in the system. Li Ziyu's mind was completely focused on these new items. He quickly decorated his bedroom and then hid himself away.

He opened the system interface. The construction page was now filled with a huge number of new buildings, all of which required a Fortress Level structure to build. Even the Weapon Workshop and Armor Workshop had a ton of new weapons and armor available for research, making Li Ziyu a bit dizzy just looking at it all.

It seemed the system knew there were too many new additions, so it had helpfully sorted them into four major categories: Fortress Structures, Technological Structures, Civilian Structures, and Military Structures.

This categorization made them much easier to browse. Li Ziyu first clicked on Fortress Structures. This category was about the Fortress itself and was all-encompassing. Things he had built before, like the Skeleton Engine, wheels of various sizes, Light Armor Shields, the Fierce Horn, and Edge Spikes, were all placed in this category.

Besides these previously built structures, many new ones had been added. For example, there was an upgraded version of the Skeleton Engine—the Undead Engine Module. This could provide the Fortress with more than enough power. The old Skeleton Engine had basically reached its limit and could no longer support the massive Fortress. It was time to replace it with a better engine.

To use the engine more efficiently, a brand-new Skeleton Power Module was also provided. Li Ziyu didn't really understand these things, but for now, he figured this was the actual motor, which would allow the Undead Engine Module to work more efficiently.

Since the engine was being replaced, the wheels had also changed. The system now offered linked wheel sets, caterpillar tracks, and even a Skeleton Power Exoskeleton for crossing mountains. Li Ziyu felt a chill looking at the last one; the design of this exoskeleton was rather bizarre, looking like a set of spider legs magnified countless times.

And these were just the basics. There was a huge pile of defensive and offensive structures for the Fortress itself. For example, there was the Charging Ram, an upgraded version of the Fierce Horn; the Skeleton Flying Claw, which could be launched to grab onto enemy fortresses; and the White Bone Cableway and White Bone Chain Bridge for boarding actions.

To increase the walls' defense, there were Thickened Bone Plates, Turtle Shell Bone Plates, Thorn Wall Plates, and a Thunder Defense Net. There were also Reconnaissance Posts that could be installed on the walls, providing both scouting and attack capabilities.

'Even things like Watchtowers are in here. This time, there are Bow and Arrow Towers, Crossbow Towers, Cannon Towers... Wait, Cannon Towers?'

Li Ziyu's eyes went wide as he stared at the building. 'I have cannons?!'

'Holy shit, have I evolved from a Magic World to a Technology World?'

He scrolled through the list again. He really fucking had cannons now. There were even main cannons, secondary cannons, and Defense Cannons to be installed on the Fortress's main building, as well as various cannons for the walls. He had everything! Besides normal gunpowder-fired cannons, there were even Magic Cannons powered by Magic Energy and Spiritual Energy!

However, he couldn't build these cannons yet. They were all grayed out and in an unbuildable state, lacking the necessary technological research.
