Chapter 372 186: Ascending to a Fortress

The Tabu Minotaurs had long since stopped being afraid of the Undead. They were used to them causing some kind of trouble every now and then. This time, however, the commotion was a little bigger, so they gathered to watch the show.

After all the buildings turned black, a new change began. The blackness spread to the edge of the Bone Plate Platform and began extending outward, continuously expanding the platform's area. Once the expansion stopped, black bricks started falling from the Void, stacking upward and arranging themselves into neat rows.

'Is that... a wall?!'

Li Ziyu's eyes widened.

He'd wanted a wall for a long time. A fortress wouldn't be a fortress without one. Unfortunately, he hadn't found a wall option in the construction menu, so he'd simply used Light Armor Shields to make a makeshift one.

Now that a real wall had appeared, the system had returned the previously installed Light Armor Shields, Fierce Horn, and Edge Spikes to the Warehouse for temporary storage.

When needed, Li Ziyu could install them directly.

The changes to the main tower, the buildings, the Bone Plates, the area... everything made Li Ziyu realize he had likely underestimated this upgrade to a Fortress. 'This is probably completely different from all the previous upgrades!'

Compared to the previous information, the biggest change was the Level. It had gone from a simple sequential leveling system to Fortress - Level 1. The area had also increased from the original 900 units to the current 2,000. No wonder it looked so much bigger—it had more than doubled in size.

"Come on, let's go take a look." Li Ziyu clapped Zhang Peng and Liu Xingxing on the shoulders. As the three of them were about to head out, the Cat Girl and Fox Maiden immediately fell in behind them. Seeing the curiosity in their eyes, Li Ziyu smiled and brought them along as they left the Great Tomb.

Li Ziyu led the group straight for the Castle Main Tower. 'This is the most important building of all!'

The Great Tomb was built behind the Castle Main Tower, so they had only been able to see its rear. Now that they were standing before its front, they all gasped in unison.

'This isn't some freaking Fortress, this is a castle!'

They stood before the main tower of the Fortress, which was over fifty meters tall, and craned their necks to look up, getting the feeling that it soared into the clouds. In front of the main tower was a wide avenue, also paved with Bone Plates, but these were a different color from the others. They were a dark gold, looking far more opulent than the Bone Plates elsewhere.

In front of the main gate stood two enormous statues, each nearly thirty meters tall. They depicted two Skeleton Undead clad in full Heavy Armor, holding lances. Their two lances were raised and crossed, making them look like loyal guards.

These two statues were also black, and in their eye sockets burned four clusters of sky-blue flame.

"B-Boss, those aren't Undead you summoned, are they?" Liu Xingxing asked, swallowing hard as he stared up at the two statues.

"Maybe... probably... I think they're just statues, right?" Li Ziyu wasn't sure himself. 'Knowing how Undead are, as long as there's a Soul Fire, it's alive. And I have no idea if that's Soul Fire in those statues' eye sockets.'
