CLANG!

A frontal smash!

CLANG!

A leaping smash!

CLANG!

A meteor-crushing blow!

One thousand Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors took the field and, without a word, immediately went on the offensive.

At just three meters tall, the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors looked like younger brothers next to the four-meter-tall Desert Giant Monsters. They seemed to be utterly lacking in fighting power.

But in reality, though short, they were stocky. Short in stature with heavy hammers, they were proof that the best things come in small packages.

’Not as tall as you?’

’Then let’s see you take a swing from my hammer!’

The Desert Giant Monster didn’t buy it. So it took the hit.

And so...

A heavy hammer to the chest—chest cavity caved in. Death.

A heavy hammer to the gut—internal organs pulverized. Death.

A heavy hammer to the head—brains splattered. Death.

The short, green-skinned Goblin Warriors were dumbfounded. ’What the hell was that? They’re dead just like that?’

One by one, the Desert Giant Monsters were hammered so hard they couldn’t tell which way was up. They never imagined that the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors, who only came up to their chests, would possess more Power than them—so much more that it was completely irresistible.

The crucial part was, not only was their Power immense, but they were also damned more agile.

The Desert Giant Monsters’ Weapon was a crude Meteor Hammer. To hit someone, they had to swing it around, but by the time they were swinging their Meteor Hammers, the enemy’s Hammers were already striking their bodies.

Even if they got lucky and swung their Meteor Hammer across, the enemy’s war hammers would shatter the stone heads in a single blow. It was impossible to hit anything.

’This has to be a joke!’

The Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors were, after all, rated by the system as "tanks on the battlefield, mobile mini-fortresses." They were a proper heavy unit in the Undead Combat Sequence, not something clumsy brutes like the Desert Giant Monsters could ever hope to handle.

The Desert Giant Monsters barely managed to take down a few Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors. Instead, with their own dead and wounded piling up, they were beaten so badly they lost their nerve. All their previous arrogance vanished. They threw down their Meteor Hammers, covered their heads, and ran.

They might be stupid and oafish, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t afraid of dying.

Out of nearly two thousand Giant Monsters, several hundred were wiped out in an instant. The remaining Desert Giant Monsters took one look and thought, ’What’s the point of fighting? Run!’

Usually, these brutes relied on their height and strength to bully others. Most Races on the Wasteland were helpless against them. After all, their sheer size was intimidating—a four-meter-tall behemoth charging at you was like a mountain bearing down, enough to make you lose your nerve before the fight even began.

They were always the ones doing the bullying and rarely ever lost a fight. This led the Desert Giant Monsters to believe they had no rivals, so they behaved recklessly on the battlefield.

They never imagined that today they would run into such a tough crowd. ’These guys, barely taller than our chests, are just too damn strong.’

The Desert Giant Monsters had actually gotten lucky. Thankfully, it was daytime, so the Undead’s combat effectiveness was weakened. If it had been night, they would have been in even more trouble; those Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors would have been even more ferocious.

"What is that? What are those!"

Palamede stared into the distance, dumbfounded as he watched the Desert Giant Monsters getting routed and fleeing with their heads in their hands. He couldn’t believe his eyes.

’What the hell just happened?’

’How did the Desert Giant Monsters suddenly get routed? So many of them were killed! These were heavy units, one of the cornerstones of our attack against the Undead, yet they were defeated so bizarrely.’

Palamede’s brow furrowed deeply. His dissatisfaction with the Alliance Army’s intelligence network grew. He had never seen any intel suggesting the Undead possessed such a heavy unit. If he had known the enemy had troops like this, he would never have sent the Giant Monsters in so casually.

The loss of the Giant Monsters, and the sight of them being beaten into a full retreat, was a massive blow to morale, especially during this first wave of the Charge.

He had sent the Desert Giant Monsters out to capitalize on their gains and bolster the confidence of the Goblin Warriors on the front lines, encouraging them to fight more fiercely. The plan was to use the advantage of the heavy Giant Monster units to punch through the Undead’s formation. Then, the Goblin Warriors could charge in, followed by the Lizardmen and the Headhunter Race, to secure victory over the Undead.

The plan had been perfect, but he never expected things to change so quickly. An enemy unit, one not mentioned in any intelligence reports, had routed the Giant Monsters, and now the Goblin Warriors at the front were also falling into disarray.

After routing the Desert Giant Monsters, the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors did not withdraw. Instead, they coordinated with the Skeleton Undead and launched an attack on the Goblin Warriors.

Just as the Skeleton Undead had been unable to stop the Desert Giant Monsters moments before, the Goblin Warriors were now completely helpless against the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors. It was like a tiger among sheep. Their war hammers swept out, clearing a path with each swing.

Even though there were fewer than a thousand Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors, they possessed the ability to steamroll across the battlefield. The Goblin Warriors’ Weapons were completely unable to harm them—no, it wasn’t that they couldn’t do any harm, it was more like they were just tickling them.

The Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors were all clad in Heavy Armor, and their Skeletons had also been reinforced. Coupled with their height, the Goblin Warriors couldn’t even reach their heads when they jumped. There was truly nothing they could do.

The Goblin Warriors’ once-unstoppable momentum was utterly shattered by fewer than a thousand Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors!

When the Desert Giant Monsters fled, the Goblin Warriors in the rear knew things were bad and followed them in their retreat. The Goblin Warriors at the front, who were still trying to test their might against the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors, died miserable deaths. When they turned their heads and saw their comrades had already run away, they naturally lost the will to fight and fled as well.
