Chapter 464 - 42: Low-Tier Crystal Core Manufacturing Principle

Chapter 464: Chapter 42: Low-Tier Crystal Core Manufacturing Principle

"Alright, I’ll wait then!"

Rock closed his eyes to wait, while Lin Yu fell silent and began to time it quietly.

Through his recent research on the Money Tree in his spare time, Lin Yu had figured out some of its properties.

Whenever a leaf from this Money Tree came into contact with a life form, it would transform into the currency most valuable to that being.

The first time a life form touched it, the leaf would calculate all the currencies that being had ever come into contact with. The longer it flickered, the higher the real value of the most valuable currency among them.

After about the same amount of time it had taken when Lin Yu first received his copper-coin leaf, the leaf in Rock’s hand vanished.

Rock’s eyes flew open, and a questioning sound escaped his nose, "Hm?"

"So? How was it?"

"This thing of yours can actually turn into Divine Coins?" Rock’s voice was filled with astonishment.

"Divine Coins? What are Divine Coins?" Lin Yu asked in return. ’The name sounds like it’s related to gods. Based on the time the Money Tree Leaf took to transform, the value of these Divine Coins should be similar to the value of points.’

"Divine Coins—" Rock hesitated for a moment before continuing, "Divine Coins are the currency used among the gods in the main Cosmos. They’re for buying things gods need, and they’re forged using Divine Power."

"A single Divine Coin requires a newly-ascended god to condense their Divine Power at full strength for an entire day. They’re extremely rare."

"That incredible!" Lin Yu exclaimed in admiration.

"Can I see one of these Divine Coins?"

"Of course you can!"

Rock extended his hand, and a golden coin materialized above his palm.

Lin Yu leaned in for a closer look but didn’t see anything unusual about it. He then asked, "Can I touch it?"

"Certainly. A Divine Coin is both a physical object and a form of energy that can enter the body. However, you have to refine it to truly make it your own. You can try absorbing it to get a feel for it."

Hearing how miraculous it sounded, Lin Yu took the Divine Coin from Rock’s hand. With a mere thought, he absorbed it into his body.

Looking inward, he could see the Divine Coin floating beside his consciousness, emanating a daunting and awe-inspiring aura.

The parts of his consciousness surrounding the coin were all being dyed by it, gradually becoming somewhat similar to the coin itself.

Unsure whether this was a good or bad thing, Lin Yu quickly materialized the Divine Coin and handed it back to Rock.

Seeing Lin Yu return the Divine Coin so quickly, an imperceptible trace of disappointment flashed across Rock’s face. He then asked, "Well? Isn’t it amazing?"

"What’s the value of a Divine Coin? How does its purchasing power compare to the competition’s points?"

Hearing Lin Yu’s question, Rock burst out laughing. "Of course it’s more valuable than the competition’s points! Why else would I be so pleasantly surprised?"

"I really didn’t expect to be able to earn Divine Coins during this lord competition."

"To think your leaf can transform into one hundred Divine Coins! That’s the amount of power a newly-ascended god would take a hundred days to accumulate!"

"It’s truly incredible!"

Hearing Rock’s animated explanation, Lin Yu knew the deal was likely on. He asked, "So, in your opinion, am I qualified to buy your Crystal Core Technology now?"

"Of course you are!"

"Here’s a list of items for trade I’ve prepared. Take a look!"

Rock picked up a Crystal Core and handed it to a statue standing nearby, which then passed it to Lin Yu.

Lin Yu took the Crystal Core and, after a moment of thought, touched it with his Spiritual Power.

Lines of information appeared before his eyes. The overall design resembled a webpage, but instead of a keyboard and mouse, he could freely browse the information with a simple thought.

"Low-Tier Crystal Core (Random Effect) x100 — 1 Divine Coin"

"Mid-Tier Crystal Core (Random Effect) x1 — 1 Divine Coin"

"High-Tier Crystal Core (Random Effect) x1 — 10 Divine Coins"

"Low-Tier Nuclear Crystal Beast (Random Effect) x10 — 1 Divine Coin"

...

"Custom Illusion Device — 100 Divine Coins"

"Service-Type Crystal Core Automated Humanoid Statue — 100 Divine Coins"

...

The items appearing at the top of the list were all low-value raw materials or household goods.

’Judging by the fact that their prices are listed in Divine Coins, Rock must have created or modified this list just now.’

However, these things were not the purpose of Lin Yu’s visit.

He quickly skimmed past them and scrolled to the very bottom of the list, where he did indeed find some things that interested him.

"Crystal Core Fragment Cultivation Technology — 100,000 Divine Coins"

"Crystal Core Fragment Synthesis into Crystal Core Technology — 1,000,000 Divine Coins"

"Low-Tier Synthetic Beast Manufacturing Plant Blueprint — 100,000 Divine Coins"

...

Although these were related to Crystal Core technology, they still weren’t what Lin Yu wanted. These were all application-level technologies; he wanted the technology that involved the fundamental principles of Crystal Cores.

"Rock, don’t you have any technology related to the principles of Crystal Cores?"

"Not for sale! Divine Coins can’t buy the most fundamental technology of our race!" Rock shook his head with a smile. ’Just as the elders said, in every competition there’s always someone who wants the principles of our race’s technology.’

"Then... what if I add these Spirit Fruits?"

Lin Yu took a small treasure chest from his personal inventory and had one of his subordinates deliver it to Rock.

Rock accepted the small chest. Upon opening it, four Spirit Fruits were revealed. They exuded a tempting fragrance, and he took a sniff.

"Mmm~ These Spirit Fruits smell quite nice. What do they do?"

"They are a specialty from my territory, extremely rare. Eating them increases a person’s attributes."

"Oh? No wonder they look so familiar. Aren’t these the Attribute Fruits from the Cosmic Arena? What, did you secretly manage to grow them?"
