Global Lords: My Territory Heart Is a World Tree
Chapter 314 - 7: Rescue Li Hua?
Chapter 314: Chapter 7: Rescue Li Hua?
"Haaa—"
Cuiwei Star, Lord Competition Service Center, Lord Villa.
In one of the rooms, Lin Yu climbed out of a hibernation pod that resembled a coffin.
A week had passed since he entered the hibernation pod, but over a year had gone by in the World Tree Territory.
The past year had been incredibly fulfilling. Under his guidance, the territory had finished constructing its education system and fully established its research framework. With a bit more time to accumulate knowledge, the territory’s technology would advance by leaps and bounds, sparking a revolution in Spiritual Technology.
By then, while other Lords on the tech path pursued industrialization, his own path of spiritual automation wouldn’t be far behind. In fact, his envisioned spiritual automation might even be stronger than industrialization. Without a point of comparison, he couldn’t predict how far it would ultimately go.
Lying in the hibernation pod for a solid week had left his body feeling a bit stiff. Although the pod kept him nourished, he felt an urge to get out and stretch his limbs. Otherwise, he’d feel awful all over.
’Right, I should see if Li Hua is back. I could go spar with him and test out my Sword Immortal abilities. Then I can come back and keep an eye on the territory.’
As Lin Yu considered his options, he realized that among the Lords he knew, only Li Hua had advanced to become an Extraordinary Being.
With that in mind, Lin Yu opened his wristband communicator to contact Li Hua.
Then he saw a huge number of unread messages. Before entering the hibernation pod, he had set up call notifications but not message alerts. He figured that if someone didn’t get a text reply, they would just call him. He was surprised anyone would send so many messages instead.
Lin Yu curiously opened the unread messages, wanting to see which idiot wouldn’t just call.
When he opened them, he found that all the messages were from the same person and followed a similar format.
"Help. Coordinates xxx, xxx, xxx."
The messages were from Li Hua. A new set of coordinates arrived every ten minutes, though they didn’t change much.
"Brother Li, does your communicator have a virus?"
Lin Yu typed out a message and sent it. A few minutes later, a reply came from Li Hua. It didn’t answer his question; it was just another message in the same format, with slightly altered coordinates.
’Looks like he’s either in real trouble or his communicator has a virus.’
’Whatever. For old times’ sake, and since he’s a decent guy, I’ll go check it out.’
Lin Yu decided to make the trip. After checking the map, he found that the coordinates were near the abandoned Black Salt Mine just outside Black Salt City.
Black Salt City was Li Hua’s hometown, the place he had said he was going to pick up his little sister.
It wasn’t too far. A Hovercar ride would get him there in a little over two hours.
Lin Yu gathered his gear and, once ready, set out.
His clone was currently at the World Tree in his territory. Even if something happened to his main body, it wouldn’t stop him from resurrecting at his clone’s location. As a result, he was much bolder now. He definitely wouldn’t have taken such a risk at the end of the first phase.

Near Black Salt City, by the abandoned Black Salt Mine, a Hovercar landed just outside the entrance.
"Thanks, driver!"
"Kid, you’re a stubborn one. I’ve been trying to talk you out of it this whole time, but you just won’t listen. This place is really dangerous. I’ve heard aliens have been spotted around here. Anyway, a lot of people have gone missing."
"Haha, driver, you can’t believe every rumor you hear. Besides, didn’t I call the police back in the car? The precinct will have people here soon. Even if something does happen, the cops will be here to get me out."
"Fine, I can’t change your mind. Just be careful, kid. It’d be a shame to waste those good looks of yours, not even married yet. What a waste it would be if something happened to you. You should marry my daughter!!!"
"Driver, I hope your daughter finds a good husband. As for me, I’ll pass..."
The driver was a big, burly man with a square face and a scar. His murderous aura made him look like anything but a good guy.
Of course, after talking with him, Lin Yu could sense the kind heart beneath the driver’s fierce exterior. Still, with a face like that, Lin Yu didn’t dare to even imagine what his daughter might look like.
Bidding farewell to the driver, Lin Yu walked into the labyrinthine Black Salt Mine. It wasn’t an open-pit mine, so the entire area was riddled with countless tunnels.
Following the coordinates constantly being transmitted to his wristband, Lin Yu entered one of the tunnels. His figure gradually blurred in the darkness until it vanished completely.

HUFF...
HUFF...
Li Xintong hid in a small, dark corner of a mine tunnel. For the past few days, she had been forced to constantly change her position to evade her pursuers. Thankfully, the mine’s tunnels were incredibly complex and her enemies weren’t numerous. That, combined with the constant warnings from her Spiritual Sense, had allowed her to escape capture time and time again.
Unfortunately, the enemy was guarding the only exit, so she hadn’t found a chance to escape. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be in such a sorry state.
’When will my brother’s friend get here?’ A trace of worry appeared on Li Xintong’s ash-covered face. Her brother had drawn away most of the enemies to cover her escape, which left her extremely worried about him.
’Why is the signal blocked here? I can only send messages, but I can’t even receive them? How can something so ridiculous happen in this day and age?’
Li Xintong couldn’t help but curse inwardly at the thought of the strange signal-jamming field that covered the entire Black Salt Mine.
