Chapter 1007 - 309: Unreliable Saintess

[Crimson Flame Divine Lamp: Rank A Crown, First Sequence Divine Artifact, able to disperse Chaos, focus the mind, ensure the sanity is not affected by external factors, and guarantee relative Truth within the illumination range of the Cyan Nether Divine Fire.

This is not the true body of the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp, so it only possesses a portion of the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp’s Power, and will continuously draw Energy from the person holding the lantern to fuel the burning of the Cyan Nether Divine Fire.

The Crimson Flame Divine Lamp requires at least Tier Five to use.]

"Not the true body?"

Su Changxing suddenly understood, looking at the Golden Lantern in his hand, within which burned a cyan nether flame that didn’t feel scorching, but cool, like sitting by a creek in Xia Tian, unusually comfortable.

"No wonder the Doomsday Game would so easily lend out the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp. That means the Divine Artifact’s true body is owned by the Doomsday Game. Where would it be located?"

"A Divine Artifact really is a Divine Artifact. Even as just a projection, it still has tremendous might."

He tried bringing the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp close to the White Ice Illusion Mist. Sure enough, the white mist acted like it’d met its nemesis, actively retreating out of the flame’s illumination range.

"It’s really pretty." Shen Jinxuan stared at the Golden Lantern in Su Changxing’s hand, its shape like a Dragon claw clutching the cyan nether flame. "Can I hold it?"

Su Changxing thought for a moment, then nodded. "Give it a try."

He also wanted to see whether Shen Jinxuan now counted as a Tier Five Extraordinary. Her aura was very hazy and chaotic, like Chaos itself.

Shen Jinxuan took the lantern with her left hand, and the flame on the lantern instantly went out.

"Huh?" She looked at Su Changxing, puzzled.

"..."

Looks like she really isn’t.

"Seems you can’t use it."

Just as Su Changxing was about to take the lantern back, the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp’s flame suddenly flared back to life, burning fiercely, even brighter than when Su Changxing had been holding it just now.

Shen Jinxuan’s face showed surprise. "Hm? It lit up again?"

As she spoke, the lantern dimmed a little.

"Huh?" She leaned in close, staring at the lantern curiously.

After three seconds, the lantern went out again.

Under the gaze of the two of them, the lantern suddenly flared back to life, the flames roaring.

"Is this thing broken?" Shen Jinxuan looked baffled. "It should... have nothing to do with me, right? I didn’t do anything."

The flame in the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp seemed to have hit a bug, flickering nonstop—bright one moment, snuffed out the next—twitching over and over, really like it’d been played until it broke.

This is a Divine Artifact!

Su Changxing also fell silent. He hadn’t expected Shen Jinxuan’s Status to be so bizarre that even a Divine Artifact couldn’t tell what she was, and even got stuck in some kind of bugged state.

Something he hadn’t seen coming.

Still, he could keep his cool; this wasn’t the first time he’d run into something like this.

Could Shen Jinxuan also be related to heretics?

He took the lantern back from Shen Jinxuan’s hand, and the flame instantly returned to normal, burning bright and steady.

"..." Shen Jinxuan saw this scene and realized it really did have something to do with her.

Her eyes turned deep blue, and a wickedly charming smile tugged at her lips.

"What a piece of junk." Jin complained, and a pink handgun appeared in her hand, which she aimed at the flame and fired.

Bang~

The air burst.

The Crimson Flame Divine Lamp actually went out for a moment!

Su Changxing was stunned too. This was a Divine Artifact—even if only a projection, it was something that could disperse Chaos.

The terror of Chaos can be summed up in one sentence: even a Divine Spirit can be corroded by Chaos.

This was fragmentary information he’d gotten from that Wooden Token, left behind by those who came before.

And the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp’s light could dispel illusion and maintain Truth. By rights, the handgun Jin created should count as a kind of illusory matter, yet it could instead shoot out the Cyan Nether Divine Fire. That was way too ridiculous.

"I hate this thing." Jin curled her lip, and a mini Gatling appeared in her hand.

Su Changxing’s mouth twitched; he grabbed her hand in one go to stop her. "Enough, this thing is borrowed. If you break it, we’ll have to compensate."

Jin yawned helplessly, nodded, looking half-asleep. Her upper body slumped against Su Changxing’s shoulder, and she said weakly, "This thing woke me up. The noise is too loud."

"Noise?" Su Changxing froze for a moment. He hadn’t heard anything at all. If even his Perception couldn’t pick it up, how was Jin hearing it?

Jin nodded. "Yeah, it’s like bzz bzz bzz, bzz bzz bzz, like more than a hundred bees buzzing. It’s annoying as hell."

Su Changxing mused, then extinguished the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp. "How about now?"

Jin smiled. "It’s gone. Quiet now."

Su Changxing rubbed her head, Calming her. "Bear with it. We still need this thing to get out of here, you know?"

Jin accepted that explanation, nodding helplessly. "Fine."

Maybe without relying on the Crimson Flame Divine Lamp, Su Changxing could still move through the White Ice Illusion Mist, but this way was more guaranteed, and safer.

He really didn’t dare guarantee he could withstand Chaos’ corrosion.

"That being the case, the Pocket Galaxy is also a Divine Artifact, but it doesn’t quite count as a First Sequence Divine Artifact. It shouldn’t be too far off, though." He pondered.

The Pocket Galaxy was already operating in his hand. As long as he gained more Faith, he could further master the Pocket Galaxy and draw out a greater effect.

As a Divine Artifact, the Pocket Galaxy was currently only operating at less than ten percent of its potential in his hands.

...

They’d been fighting for a whole day.

All around, packed densely, were the corpses of the Demon Race. Luo Haodong sat on the ground yet didn’t feel all that tired; he even felt excited. "Is it because of the Demon body’s influence, making me this twisted? Not bad, I like this feeling."
