Fang Heng leaned against the wall and observed the entrance leading to the third floor below.
The entrance area was empty.
No one was guarding it.
Although he had received Quinn’s authorization, Fang Heng did not hurry to enter the third floor. He only observed the situation secretly at the entrance of the second floor.
From what he had learned over the past two days, the guards in the underground domain only showed up during their daily patrols.
The first three floors were patrolled three times a day. As for the fourth and fifth basement levels, the interval between patrols was as long as three days, and Quinn personally led each patrol.
"Hey, Zane."
After fighting with the gnoll chieftain for more than ten minutes, Gu Er finally retreated while panting heavily. He looked somewhat miserable, with deep bloody claw marks torn across his body, appearing rather ferocious.
"Mm."
Fang Heng raised his hand and cast a Holy Radiance Healing spell on Gu Er. Combined with the God Clan’s self-healing effect, the wounds visibly healed at a rapid speed.
"Your turn."
Over the past two days, Gu Er had been partnering with Fang Heng. He greatly admired Fang Heng’s healing technique and reminded him, "Be careful. This guy isn’t easy to deal with."
"Mm."
Fang Heng stepped forward a few paces and shifted his gaze to the gnoll chieftain.
The gnoll had already entered a berserk state. A crimson glow appeared in his eyes as he suppressed the surging bloodlust within his body and stared fixedly at Fang Heng.
"Whoosh!!"
The gnoll’s speed suddenly erupted as he lunged forward.
Fang Heng lifted his wrist, and a barrier appeared in his palm.
Bang!!
The gnoll’s sharp blade was covered with a chilling gleam and a terrifying shadow aura. The moment it struck the barrier, a loud explosion sounded. Cracks instantly spread across the barrier, and a powerful force knocked Fang Heng backward along with it.
Fang Heng staggered back several steps and flung several holy seals toward the gnoll.
"Whoosh!!!"
The gnoll shifted his footing and instantly dodged the attack, his figure suddenly appearing at Fang Heng’s right side. The blade attached to his hand slashed out a blood-colored cross.
"Bang!!!!"
The holy barrier surrounding Fang Heng shattered completely, and the aftershock forced him to retreat again.
"This guy isn’t easy to handle. Let me do it!"
Gu Er had already recovered somewhat. Seeing Fang Heng fall into a disadvantage, he flashed forward and rejoined the battle, blocking the gnoll’s continued assault. "Figures. You’re not good at melee combat. I’ll handle this!"
"Mm."
Fang Heng responded softly and stepped back, his peripheral vision sweeping over the God Clan patrol team not far away that had just completed their inspection of the third basement and was about to return to the rest area.
The patrol team had grown accustomed to Fang Heng and Gu Er over the past few days. They were battle maniacs who fought prisoners all day. Noticing Fang Heng’s gaze, they nodded slightly in acknowledgment and continued leaving.
It was about time to act.
After several days of observation, he had calculated the approximate patrol schedules of each team.
From now on, there would be a window of about three hours during which no guards would enter the prison for inspection.
Fang Heng looked up at Gu Er and the gnoll still locked in battle. Hidden beneath his hood, the God’s Eye spun rapidly.
Whoosh!
Mental shock!
Gu Er was focused on fighting the gnoll when he suddenly felt something strike his sea of consciousness, causing a brief lapse in awareness.
An almost imperceptible pale white force attached itself to the holy barrier around Gu Er and rapidly dissolved its energy.
The gnoll chieftain, influenced by ancient bloodline power, did not notice the anomaly. He pounced toward Gu Er, slashing both blades forward fiercely.
"Boom!!!"
The dark aura enveloping the gnoll’s blades suddenly erupted several times stronger.
What was going on?
Gu Er’s pupils contracted.
The attack’s intensity had increased severalfold in an instant.
The gnoll chieftain himself was startled by the power of his strike. The dark aura on his blades instantly shattered Gu Er’s defensive barrier, leaving two deep marks on Gu Er’s body and blasting him backward into the rock wall behind.
Boom!
Almost simultaneously, a loud explosion erupted within Gu Er’s sea of consciousness. He let out a muffled groan and was knocked unconscious.
The gnoll chieftain stood in place, looking at Gu Er, who had been blasted away, then lowered his head to stare at his own hands, momentarily stunned.
"Roar!!!!"
Immediately, the entire prison erupted with roars and cheers from the orc prisoners.
The gnoll chieftain gradually regained his senses. Turning back, he met Fang Heng’s gaze, and a fierce glint instinctively surfaced in his eyes once more.
"Whoosh!"
The gnoll chieftain vanished in a flash and lunged toward Fang Heng!
Fang Heng snorted coldly, as if he had already anticipated the gnoll’s position, and swung a punch toward his right side.
In the next moment, the gnoll chieftain’s figure appeared exactly where the punch landed.
The gnoll chieftain’s pupils trembled violently.
Several prisoners could not help but gasp.
In the prisoners’ view, it seemed as if the gnoll chieftain had voluntarily taken Fang Heng’s punch. Emerging from his flash movement, he had run straight into the blow.
"Boom!!!!"
A terrifying holy aura suddenly erupted from Fang Heng’s fist.
The gnoll chieftain felt as if his body had been struck head-on by a ten-thousand-ton dragon. The overwhelming force instantly overwhelmed him, blasting him backward while holy power forcibly poured into his body.
"Bang!!!"
The gnoll chieftain was blasted straight back into his own cell, crashing heavily against the rock wall with a dull impact as the shadow power on his body rapidly dissolved.
"Ka...!"
Fang Heng formed an imprint with both hands in front of him.
The cell door closed.
At once, the previously cheering No. 6 prison area on the second floor fell silent.
Everyone stared at Fang Heng, their hearts filled with uncertainty.
This kid.
What was going on?
Hadn’t he been suppressed the whole time when fighting the gnoll chieftain before?
Was he hiding his strength?
Fang Heng said nothing. He stepped forward, lifted the unconscious Gu Er, and swept a warning gaze across the entire prison area before turning and walking toward the entrance.
Upon arriving at the entrance to the third basement prison area, Fang Heng delivered another mental shock to Gu Er’s sea of consciousness to ensure he would not wake up anytime soon. He casually tossed him near the entrance and then entered the third basement prison area.
...
Tribunal of Sin.
Third basement domain.
Although Quinn had granted Ethan’s team access to the third floor, Fang Heng had never truly entered it before.
The prisoners on the third floor were far more vicious than those on the upper two levels.
As Fang Heng stepped inside, many gazes immediately gathered upon him.
The prisoners sensed something unusual.
Normally, the Tribunal of Sin’s patrol guards moved in pairs. It was rare to see someone come alone, let alone a new face.
Fang Heng released his perception and slowly walked deeper into the prison.
The prisoners confined on the third floor were clearly on an entirely higher level of strength.
