Chapter 357: Chapter 217: Merger Idea, Wanting to Rob the Wine Bamboo

In their previous trades, Long Zhan had never seen Peach Blossom Base arrive in a large ship. Still, he’d always believed they had them, simply choosing not to use them for trading due to their poor maneuverability.

So when Qin Haonan asked him to arrange for instructors to teach Peach Blossom Base’s pilots how to handle these massive cargo ships, Long Zhan was a little surprised.

"Doesn’t your base have any large ships?"

Qin Haonan paused, then replied with a smile, "We do, but none this large!"

He wasn’t exactly lying to Long Zhan. Peach Blossom Base did currently possess a large supply ship, one they had seized from Xi’an Base.

Long Zhan nodded slightly. "I see. Well, let them get started with their training. Why don’t you come over and have some tea with me?"

Qin Haonan waved his hand. "Maybe next time. I need to get back to my Cultivation!"

"Cultivation?" Long Zhan asked, stunned. "Are you trying to become an immortal?"

"Not exactly," Qin Haonan replied. "You can ask our leader for the specifics. It’s not really my place to say."

Peach Blossom Base’s current Cultivation Technique was derived from the ancient texts provided by the Aircraft Carrier Base, and Ren Yuanyang hadn’t forbidden them from sharing this information.

"Alright, I get it. I’ll ask your leader, then," Long Zhan replied.

Qin Haonan gave a wave, returned to his speedboat, and resumed his Cultivation.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Long Zhan sent Ren Yuanyang a message about it.

Ren Yuanyang wasn’t surprised at all when he saw the inquiry.

"I’ve been meaning to tell you," Ren Yuanyang replied with a smile. "I gained this insight from the Daoist Classics you sent me. You all can give it a try. We’ve only just started to get the hang of it ourselves, but it’s definitely effective for increasing one’s Mental Energy!"

Long Zhan was stunned. "You mean the legendary Daoist Skills might actually be real?"

"It’s very possible," Ren Yuanyang said with a nod. "After all, you can master a certain type of Superpower, can’t you?"

"The world has already gone magical. Are we turning into some fantasy epic now?" Long Zhan was incredulous.

"The world’s already this crazy. What’s one more fantastical thing?" Ren Yuanyang replied.

Long Zhan nodded. "Thanks for the heads-up, Brother Yang. We’ll look into it. If we can’t figure it out, we’ll be counting on your guidance!"

"You’re being too formal, Captain Long," Ren Yuanyang said humbly. "Let’s just call it a mutual exchange."

"Sounds good. I’ll go tell Old Wang and the others right away!" Long Zhan said, then immediately forwarded the news to Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi.

"What? Cultivation can rapidly increase Mental Energy?"

Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi were both stunned.

"Yeah. Taoyuan Yang told me himself. It seems like their base has already started rolling it out. Haonan even uses the downtime during our trade to practice his Cultivation," Long Zhan replied with a nod.

"It seems there’s more to those classics than we thought," Wang Jun said gravely. "Get people to start studying them immediately!"

"Understood!" Ji Yizhi replied. He relayed the order immediately and, at the same time, began studying them himself.

"It’s a good thing Old Wang gave those classics to Peach Blossom Base," Long Zhan remarked. "Otherwise, they’d probably still be on a hard drive somewhere, collecting digital dust."

Wang Jun couldn’t agree more. "Yeah. It looks like we should share more things with Peach Blossom Base in the future. Who knows what other hidden values we might uncover."

"That makes sense," Long Zhan added. "But for now, we need to hurry up and study those classics. According to Taoyuan Yang, using Cultivation to increase Mental Energy is much faster. We can’t afford to fall too far behind!"

"The research has already begun," Ji Yizhi replied. "And you shouldn’t just be sitting around, Old Long. You have copies of those classics on your computer too. Go study them when you have a spare moment!"

"Me? Nah, I’d rather not." Long Zhan shook his head decisively. "I’ll just wait for you guys to figure it out and use the finished product. This kind of brain-frying work is what you guys are for!"

Just then, a chef from Dawn Base brought over a platter of grilled skewers.

"Captain, there was a huge variety in the skewers you sent to the kitchen—chicken, duck, goose, pork, beef, and lamb. I grilled a few of each kind for you," the chef explained.

Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi, who were still on the video call, heard this as well.

"Skewers? Did they come from Peach Blossom Base?" Wang Jun asked curiously.

Long Zhan nodded. "Yep. Just brought them up from Haonan’s speedboat. Take a look!"

He switched to his rear-facing camera, and the image of sizzling, glistening meat skewers filled their screens.

"Old Long, you’re doing this on purpose!" Ji Yizhi said, exasperated, while unconsciously swallowing his own saliva. "You know we can’t eat any, and you’re deliberately torturing us!"

Laughing, Long Zhan picked up a skewer and took a big bite, smacking his lips with exaggerated relish.

"That’s enough!" Ji Yizhi said, completely fed up.

"Don’t worry, Old Ji, I’ll save a few for you. You can have them when you come over!" Long Zhan roared with laughter.

Wang Jun grew thoughtful for a moment before speaking up. "Did I just hear the chef say they have all kinds of meat?"

"Yeah, a huge variety!" Long Zhan confirmed with a nod.

"It’s only been a few days since we traded them that poultry and livestock. They’re already using them for barbecues?" Ji Yizhi immediately understood what Wang Jun was getting at.

"Peach Blossom Base’s animal husbandry techniques are quite something," Wang Jun mused.

"The ability to make both plants and animals grow rapidly... That technology is incredible," Ji Yizhi agreed with a nod.

"If only Peach Blossom Base would share that technology..." Wang Jun said, his voice filled with longing.

Ji Yizhi shook his head. "That’s the foundation of their base. I’m afraid that’s highly unlikely."
