Chapter 181: Chapter 153: They’re All Lunatics, I Don’t Know

Hearing the enemy’s hail, Park Yiye frowned. "Where’s the translator? What are they saying?"

Someone immediately ran over and relayed the translation. "They said a total of twenty-three large ships have arrived. They’re telling us to surrender immediately, claiming they don’t want a fight. They’ve mistaken us for the Peach Blossom Base!"

A nearby advisor asked worriedly, "President, they have too many large ships. Can we really win against them?"

"Victory isn’t decided by who has more ships, but by who has better weapons!" Park Yiye gave the advisor a weary look, noting his cowardly expression. ’I just explained all this, and he’s still this spineless.’

"President, should we respond?" the translator asked quietly.

Park Yiye thought for a moment before answering, "Of course. Tell them this: Surrender is out of the question, but we can talk. They can send five of their large ships to negotiate. If they agree, the rest of their fleet must retreat fifty kilometers. Otherwise, it’s mutual destruction!"

The translator nodded slightly, then immediately began broadcasting the message with a loudspeaker.

Upon hearing the hail from the Han Jin Association Fleet, the Dragon Kingdom United Fleet immediately erupted in discussion.

"Honestly, there’s no need for us to fight them. We don’t have any heavy weaponry. Trying to board their large ships with our numerical advantage would be too difficult. I’m in favor of negotiating!"

"Yeah, why don’t we just negotiate with them? We could all unite and develop together. Wouldn’t that be great?"

"You all are too naive. They mention talks, and you just believe them?"

"What if they’re just feigning peace talks? If we only send five large ships and they attack us, what then?"

"Exactly. Even if we do negotiate, all of us should be present. Mutual destruction? In their dreams!"

Although some wanted to attempt negotiations, the other captains’ arguments made them waver.

In the end, the Dragon Kingdom United Fleet decided to press forward together!

"We are sincere about negotiating with you, but having only five large ships participate while the rest of the fleet stands down is absolutely out of the question!"

After broadcasting this message, the Dragon Kingdom United Fleet accelerated once more.

"It seems they have some brains, after all," Park Yiye sneered upon hearing the reply. "In that case, let them have a taste of our cannons!"

As the distance closed, someone in the Dragon Kingdom United Fleet vaguely made out the insignia on the enemy’s large ships.

"HJS? What does that stand for? Wait, it looks like there’s Magpie Country script on there too!"

"That’s right, I saw it too! Is the Peach Blossom Base a Magpie Country base?"

"That can’t be right. The survivors who’ve traded with the Peach Blossom Base said everyone there speaks fluent Dragon Language. They don’t seem like foreigners!"

"Plenty of foreigners speak exceptionally authentic Dragon Language! Especially thieves from the Magpie Country, who are always trying to steal our Dragon Country’s cultural heritage!"

"No way... That’s so disappointing. So the Peach Blossom Base doesn’t belong to us Dragon Country People after all!"

"Don’t worry, it will be soon enough! They’ve delivered themselves to our doorstep. It would be rude of us not to accept!"

"That’s right! This is an illegal invasion! Take them down and reclaim our Dragon Country’s rightful peace!"

As they were discussing, a series of massive booms suddenly erupted outside!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Cannon shells came hurtling toward the Dragon Country ships.

To their stunned disbelief, the shells hit their ships without fail, erupting in violent explosions.

"Holy shit, the Peach Blossom Base has cannons! Retreat, now!" one of the captains yelled, having snapped to his senses and roaring into the shared channel.

Almost every ship instinctively began to slow down and change course.

But large ships turn slowly, and the Han Jin Association had already started launching a second volley of shells!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Another round of explosions erupted!

"This is no good! At this rate, they’ll sink every last one of our ships!"

"Exactly! By the time we get out of their cannons’ range, they could’ve fired almost ten volleys. Our hulls are taking damage, which is bound to slow us down. If they chase us while we’re crippled, not a single one of us will escape!"

"Then what’s the plan?"

"They only have five ships, and we have so many! Are we really going to be scared of them? Just ram them! I’d like to see how many ships they can withstand being rammed by!"

"That’s right! We can’t let the Magpie Country look down on us Dragon Country People!"

"If you want to ram them, you go ahead! We’re not ramming anything!"

Some captains completely disagreed with the idea of ramming the enemy fleet.

"If we scatter and run, they’ll definitely pick us off one by one!"

"They only have five ships! At most, they can only chase five of us, which means at least eighteen ships will survive. On the other hand, if we ram them, that’s when we’ll truly be annihilated!"

When the other captains heard this, they were tempted. The probability of survival by fleeing did seem quite high.

"Let me ask just one question: have your ships been hit by shells yet? None of these are military-grade vessels; our defenses are extremely limited. As soon as a ship is hit, its speed is affected. Under these conditions, do you really think you have any chance of escaping?"

"He’s right! Let’s risk it all together! If we can just take them down, we can still follow our original agreement and unite to form a base capable of contending with the Aircraft Carrier Base!"

"Damn it, I’m in! The food on our ship is already running dangerously low. If we can’t secure a source of food, it’s only a matter of time before we have a crisis!"

"I’m in, too!" the other captains declared one by one.

Still, three ships chose to turn and leave.
