Chapter 727: Chapter 333: You Must Attend Can Impact_2

…

The Ten Thousand Dragons Conference, a name that sounds serious and solemn, is actually just a self-service barbecue feast for networking and matchmaking.

The nature of the Dragon Race, I’m sure all you Cao Thieves understand very well.

Moreover, considering how difficult it is for the Dragon Race to reproduce, their culture is naturally quite open.

Apart from not being as bizarre as the Greek Gods, everything else is about falling in love at first sight and immediately heading to a cozy little room for some fiery passion. It’s extremely easy to have fleeting romances, and partners change quite frequently.

So you see, it’s actually quite difficult to maintain a pure body like Isidro in such circumstances.

Finding true love is hard, but finding a temporary one isn’t as hard, right?

However, none of this concerns Lu Wenwu.

He’s already successfully sneaked to the edge of the main venue of the Ancestral Dragon Dynasty and started secretly flaunting the barbecue at the children’s table.

The young dragons are mostly immersed in this “fiery” atmosphere, completely captivated.

A group of little dragons are chasing each other around, with a vibe of adults chatting while the kids run circles around the table playing tag.

Some who are nearing adulthood are a bit more composed, trying to do the things adult dragons are supposed to do.

But limited by their physiques and capabilities, most of them fail at the first step of pursuing love — as female Giant Dragons generally aren’t impressed by this “pretty boy” type.

Only one especially good-looking Black Dragon successfully took this crucial step, catching the eye of a matured Female Dragon with unique tastes and hugging a great pile of gold.

This made many young male dragons at the right age extremely envious and jealous.

Lu Wenwu remains indifferent to this, as he enjoys the delicacies of the Dragon Race.

Good news: Top-grade ingredients, delicious even raw

Bad news: Only barbecue and fruits available

The culinary level of this world is quite despairing.

After wandering around and failing to find any staple food, Lu Wenwu stumbled upon the dispirited Marcus.

This guy’s recent courageous confession was rejected by a beautiful Silver Dragoness, leaving him in a frustrated state, drowning his sorrows with food.

“Hey, stop eating, I need to ask you something.” Lu Wenwu jumped on the table and kicked Marcus’s head.

“…Hic… hm?”

Marcus, who was attempting to stuff himself to death, turned his head subconsciously as someone called him.

When the corner of his eye spotted Lu Wenwu standing on the long stone table, he got so frightened that he sprang up with a yelp.

Fortunately, everyone was immersed in the festivities and the entire banquet hall was noisy, so no one noticed him in the corner.

“You… you…”

Marcus immediately broke out in a cold sweat, wearing an expression of obvious flattery and a wry smile.

“Brother Wu, you’re out of the Heaven-Reaching Tower… ha… haha… Grandpa Felix and the Elders have already scolded me. It was my fault last time, I shouldn’t have urged them to attack you…”

Lu Wenwu’s mouth twitched.

It seems the scare last time left quite a psychological shadow on this kid.

Of course, it might also be that my tower-clearing feat was too outrageous, and he was awed by my abundant Martial Virtue.

“It’s a tradition of the Dragon Race, no harm done. I’m not unreasonable. Go to the Magick Wizard Academy and ask around; I’m a very reasonable person. Last time, I was just playing a prank on you, don’t take it to heart. I’m here to ask you something.”

Lu Wenwu reached out to gently pat Marcus’s scales on his nose in a friendly gesture, signaling him not to be nervous.

“Is the food on Dragon Island really just barbecue and fruits? Nothing else?”

Marcus lowered his body and bowed his head, cautiously asking, “Isn’t that enough? High-Tier Magical Beast meat, exotic fruits from all over the world, and even top-grade lamb carefully bred by the Elders over the years, Brother Wu, what more do you want?”

“Is there no staple food?” Lu Wenwu asked, “Millet, wheat, rice, sweet potatoes, potatoes, sorghum, things like that—I remember seeing something like fields in the distance when I came to the Ancestral Dragon Nest. Why isn’t there any bread?”

He doesn’t expect the Dragon Race to eat vegetables.

Nor does he expect them to know how to make pasta other than bread.

But eating solely barbecue and fruit seems a bit monotonous, doesn’t it?

As a race famous across the continent, often associated with gold coins and indulgence, Dragon Island’s menu shouldn’t be limited to just these two items.

There’s not even any wine.

That’s very strange.

Isidro had mentioned before that many dragons establishing themselves outside hire a few chefs to put in their Dragon Nests, pampering them to prepare all kinds of gourmet dishes and desserts created by humans.

But here, there seems to be nothing of the sort.

Marcus strained his brain, searching through his memory for what the old dragons had complained about, and finally got a clue.

So, he quickly explained, “Brother Wu, I remember now. I heard Elder Green Dragon say they originally intended to cultivate wheat to make their own white bread for enjoyment.”

“But Dragon Island is soaked with Dragon Power everywhere, causing the wheat to mutate soon after transplanting. It begins harboring a blend of multiple Attributes and mixed Dragon Power, and its taste rapidly declines as a result.”

“The bread made from this Longwei Wheat is barely palatable even to goblins, who have the highest tolerance globally. They’d rather participate in Elder Green Dragon’s poison experiments than take a second bite.”

“Over time, as there is no way to make bread that can be swallowed, and wine brewing yields liquids with bizarre side effects, the Elders eventually stopped trying altogether.”

“Whenever Elders remember this Longwei Wheat while going out, they just casually harvest a patch to sell outside, and many Species seem to like it, saying it can be used to make Potions or something.”

“If it tastes bad when grown here, why not bring in some flour from outside?” Lu Wenwu pondered, “We aren’t short of money, right?”

Marcus scratched his head awkwardly and said, “Brother Wu, there aren’t enough large Space Items. Given the appetite of us Giant Dragons, with so many dragons on Dragon Island, the Elders wouldn’t be able to do anything else if they were busy bringing in flour from outside all day… with Natural Magic, wheat grows very fast…”

Lu Wenwu: “…”

He forgot about that.

For him, eating is just about satiating cravings and enjoying the taste.

This group, who don’t understand Fasting, truly scarf down three whole cows at once… it’s probably only the vast territory of Dragon Island that can sustain enough livestock to feed all these Giant Dragons.

Anywhere else, they’d have eaten everything into bankruptcy.

After all, food supply is a key factor affecting Species population size.

However, is it possible that there’s wheat in this world that just can’t be cooked well?

Why do I not believe that?

After some thought, Lu Wenwu spoke up, “Do you know where the Longwei Wheat is planted? Take me there.”

“The abandoned Longwei Wheat plantation is north of the Ancestral Dragon Nest, a vast area. Brother Wu, you can see it if you fly in that direction for a while.”

Marcus seemed a bit reluctant.

Though his confession had failed, there were still many mature or blossoming big sisters waiting for him to pursue.

He’s not keen on wasting time on something so pointless.

Even if he doesn’t pursue the big sisters, eating more High-Tier Magical Beast Meats is quite tempting too, isn’t it?

“Are you sure you don’t want to accompany me?”

Lu Wenwu smiled amiably, gently pinching the dragon scales on Marcus’s mouth.

“Crack.”

Unintentionally, he crushed a piece, causing Marcus to jerk in pain and start sucking in cold air.

Looking at his broken dragon scale, he wanted to cry, recalling some unpleasant memories.

Subdued by someone’s tyranny, former kid leader Marcus finally surrendered, reluctantly becoming the other’s temporary mount, bidding tearful farewell to the matchmaking conference, barbecue, and giant dragon big sisters.
