Chapter 393: Stable Gene

Atom slammed into the vehicle and sent both the motorcycle and its rider flying across the road.

Bam!

The other riders immediately opened fire.

Bullets flew toward Atom, but the S-Grade Sentinel didn’t even attempt to dodge. The projectiles struck his black armor and bounced away without leaving any meaningful damage.

Kai couldn’t help but smile.

"Your defense really is ridiculous now."

Then, he immediately activated Shadow Dash.

His body blurred before disappearing from his original position, and he reappeared beside another motorcycle. Kai grabbed the rider and pulled him from the vehicle before kicking the motorcycle aside.

Thud! Thud!

Another attacker rushed toward him with a modified blade in his hands. It seemed that it was taken from a Spyder Unit...

Kai just took a look at the man’s weapon before he raised his hand.

"Spirit Lance."

A concentrated spear of Spirit Energy shot forward and struck the ground directly in front of the attacker.

Boom!

The resulting impact sent the man tumbling backward and forced the motorcycle behind him to stop.

At the same time, Farrah rushed forward and intercepted another attacker before he could reach the trucks.

Meanwhile, Atom was already dealing with the rest.

The S-Grade Sentinel moved through the battlefield with overwhelming speed, knocking motorcycles aside and disarming their riders before they could get close to the rescued survivors.

One attacker attempted to strike Atom from behind, but Atom simply turned around and caught the weapon in his hand.

With a small movement, the weapon snapped in half!

The attacker froze. Atom grabbed him by the chest and threw him several meters away.

Kai watched the scene for a moment before shaking his head.

Having an S-Grade Sentinel around really did make things much easier.

Still, Kai wasn’t going to leave everything to Atom.

He activated Titan Step and slammed his foot into the ground.

The powerful impact sent several nearby attackers stumbling from their motorcycles, allowing Kai to quickly disarm them before they could recover.

Within a few minutes, the battle was over.

The motorcycles were scattered across the road, while the attackers were either unconscious or had surrendered...

There were a few corpses, but most of these people survived because they had gene modifications, allowing them to survive even some fatal attacks.

Meanwhile, the leader of the group remained on the ground, staring at Atom with fear in his eyes.

His gaze slowly moved toward Kai.

"Who... who are you?"

Kai glanced at the two trucks behind him and then at the fifty-eight rescued survivors.

"I’m just someone trying to get them somewhere safe."

The man’s eyes shifted back toward Atom.

"And that thing?"

Kai looked at the silent black Sentinel standing beside him.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"He’s with me."

Atom remained completely silent.

But after watching him effortlessly tear through an entire group of armed survivors, nobody seemed interested in asking any more questions.

"Anyway... Give up everything you have, if you don’t want to die..." Kai said as he looked at the man with a mischievous smile.

The defeated survivors had brought quite a collection of weapons with them.

Kai had no real need for most of them. Compared to the equipment he could obtain through his Gift Packs, the weapons these people carried were hardly impressive. Still, he wasn’t about to leave useful equipment lying around.

He began collecting everything they had.

Most of the rifles and energy weapons had clearly been taken from the A.I. units they had encountered. Some still had the distinctive designs of Spyder weapons, while others appeared to have been stripped from damaged Sentinel units.

Kai inspected one of the modified rifles in his hands.

"Not bad."

It certainly wasn’t something he would use himself, but the technology was still valuable. More importantly, these weapons could be given to the survivors at the Codebreakers Shelter.

He continued searching through their equipment while Chamber analyzed each item.

Another weapon followed.

Kai raised an eyebrow.

"These guys really did loot quite a few machines."

He continued searching.

Several magazines of ammunition, energy cells, combat knives, protective equipment, and various pieces of scavenged machine components were added to his Inventory.

Some of the items were damaged, but Kai wasn’t particularly concerned. With Chamber’s assistance and Wilson’s mechanical knowledge, repairing them later shouldn’t be too difficult.

Then Kai noticed something else inside one of the bags.

"What is this?"

He pulled out a small metallic container.

Unlike the other equipment, it hadn’t been exposed to much wear. Several glass vials were secured inside the container, each filled with a faintly glowing liquid.

Kai’s expression immediately changed.

"Chamber... It’s a serum, right?"

Chamber confirmed it, and just like that, Kai used the system to identify it

A moment later, the result appeared.

Kai stared at the vials.

"Gene Enhancement Serum?"

He quickly searched the rest of the bag.

There were more.

Not just one or two, but several vials carefully wrapped inside protective material.

Kai’s eyes lit up.

This was much more interesting than the weapons.

The rescued survivors had already shown unusual genetic adaptations because of the experiments performed on them. If this serum could further enhance their bodies, it might be extremely useful.

He glanced toward Wilson, Hanabi, and the other survivors.

They had spent years being experimented on by the machines.

Their bodies were already different from ordinary humans.

With proper food, medical treatment, training, and a suitable Gene Enhancement Serum, their potential might be even greater than Kai had initially expected.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Looks like these guys weren’t completely useless."

Farrah glanced toward him.

"Did you find something valuable?"

Kai held up one of the vials.

"Gene Enhancement Serum."

Farrah’s eyes widened slightly.

"Where did they get that?"
