Chapter 379: The New Items and the Replacement

"If the system really increases physical strength and movement speed, this could make an already strong awakened fighter even more dangerous."

Kai looked at the armor for a moment before glancing down at himself.

Fortunately, it wasn’t too large for him. The moment he put it on, the armor automatically adjusted to fit his body perfectly, almost as if it had been made specifically for him.

The armor had a simple and streamlined appearance, with smooth gray outer plates covering his chest, shoulders, arms, and legs. There were no unnecessary decorations or complicated designs on its surface, making it look more like advanced combat equipment than ordinary armor.

Several small mechanical components were built into the joints, allowing the armor to move naturally with his body. Despite its heavy appearance, Kai could barely feel its weight after putting it on.

He clenched his fist and moved his arms a few times.

"Not bad."

The armor responded smoothly to every movement, without restricting him in the slightest.

Kai took a few steps around the room before stopping.

"It really does feel like I’m not wearing anything heavy."

Considering his current strength and physique, wearing the armor wasn’t a problem at all.

In fact, Kai could already imagine how much stronger he would become once the armor’s power-assistance system was activated.

After feeling satisfied, Kai finally put them off and continued looking at the other items.

There were still several small objects remaining.

Kai picked one of them up.

It was a small metallic sphere with several tiny lights around its surface.

Kai carefully placed them back down before turning toward the final item.

Unlike the other weapons, this one looked more like a compact industrial machine.

It had a small control panel on the front and several mechanical components folded inside its rectangular body.

He glanced at his Spirit Points and seeing that he hadn’t spent much, he used Fast Appraisal once again.

Ammunition had always been a problem in the apocalypse. Even if he could produce it by opening a lot of Weapon Gift Packs, that would also mean that he would have a lot of items that he couldn’t use!

However, with this almost-magical Fabricator, he would actually have fewer worries now!

After all, even if someone possessed powerful weapons, they couldn’t keep using them forever if their ammunition ran out.

But this machine could potentially solve that problem.

As long as he had the necessary materials and the required production data, he could manufacture more ammunition whenever he needed it.

Kai walked around the machine and carefully examined it.

He looked at all the items scattered throughout his room.

Kai couldn’t help but smile.

Every single item was something that would have been considered priceless before the apocalypse.

And this was only one of the ten Legendary Gift Packs.

He still had nine more waiting for him.

Kai looked toward the remaining gift packs in his inventory.

"I definitely need to find a bigger place before opening the others."

He paused for a moment.

Then his eyes narrowed with excitement.

"Especially the Technology Chest."

That reward was different from everything else.

It came directly from the machine civilization.

And after everything he had witnessed inside the Floating Citadel, Kai couldn’t help but wonder what kind of technology it contained...

Unlike the Legendary Gift Packs, he had no clue what this chest would contain aside from the fact that it was a Technology.

The System had never given him anything like this before.

"It came directly from the hidden quest..."

Kai’s expression became serious.

It was specifically related to the machine civilization.

And Kai had already seen how terrifying their technology was.

The Floating Citadel alone had been enough to overwhelm an entire human city. Its defensive systems, energy weapons, machines, and internal network were far beyond anything humanity currently possessed.

If this chest contained even a fraction of that technology, its value would be difficult to estimate.

"Hopefully, it’s something useful."

Kai thought about it for a moment before deciding not to open it yet.

His room was already filled with the items from the Weapon Gift Pack.

If something enormous appeared from the Technology Chest, he didn’t want to find himself trapped underneath it.

"I’ll open it after I find a bigger place."

Kai stored the thought in the back of his mind. Then, he recalled the Anima Civilization... He knew that whatever technology it was, he would be happy to obtain it.

"If I can obtain their technology and understand how it works..."

His voice trailed off as the possibilities he had in mind were already enough to excite him.

The ability to reproduce even a small portion of the machine civilization’s technology could completely change the development of human settlements.

"Right... I should go back to the shelter first."

Kai thought about it as he recalled that Renji should be arriving soon to take over for Farrah, whose level had stagnated for weeks because she had been stuck running the shop.
