Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready
Chapter 594. The Coming Crisis, No Choice but Battle
Lu Yuan had once believed the struggle against the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons would unfold slowly. They would descend into this world over time, bringing crises to one starfield after another, just as they had on the Celestial Star. It would become a war of endurance, ending only when one side could no longer continue or a truly invincible expert emerged. Lu Yuan had prepared himself for a long conflict.
His recent experiences had changed that view. Everything he had seen suggested that Earth had been the true target of the two factions and the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons from the beginning. The crises elsewhere had merely served as a diversion.
The decisive battle would take place on Earth.
Lu Yuan understood everyone's concerns. Earth and the Milky Way Starfield had grown at an astonishing rate and could already compare to some of the top hundred starfields. But they had been given far too little time.
If several hundred more years passed, it would even be possible for the Milky Way Starfield to become one of the top ten starfields.
Its strongest experts, its main fighting force, and its overall foundations would all have reached extraordinary heights.
By then, they would be strong enough to face most threats without fear.
However, now they still lacked the depth of an ancient starfield. Once war erupted, countless ordinary people would be caught in it, and everyone might face death.
Their enemy was not another major starfield, but beings from another world. An enemy from within their universe might still show restraint. The Extracosmic Heavenly Demons had no reason to do so, whether toward Earth or the rest of the universe.
Nor could their arrival be prevented. The Eternals and the Ji Clan had already completed their plan, and traces of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons had appeared across Earth's famous mountains and great rivers. Even a Supreme Immortal could no longer stop what had been set in motion. They could only face it.
Lu Yuan's plan was simple. Their descent would take time, and he intended to use every moment of it to accumulate strength and spread word throughout the universe. If more powerful experts came to support them, their chances would improve.
Whatever happened, they now had to accept one reality; they would have to fight the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.
Lu Yuan explained his reasoning to everyone present.
Some represented the Jiang Clan, while others were core members of the Celestial Court. When the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons arrived, these were the people Lu Yuan could trust most.
"King Lu, we understand," Zhu Qingyu said, her expression resolute. "No matter what happens next, we will face it together until the very end."
Ice Fairy, Young Celestial Master Chunyang, and the others shared her resolve. They had stood together before, and with King Lu leading them, they would do so again without hesitation.
Lu Yuan smiled. After a moment's thought, he said, "Good. Qingyu, from now on, you will handle the Celestial Court's affairs. There is no need to report every matter to me. You have full authority."
After observing her for a period of time, he knew that Zhu Qingyu was outstanding in many aspects.
Moreover, in his perception, she would probably be the first person in the Celestial Court to break into the Immortal Realm.
That surprised Lu Yuan. Zhu Qingyu was not the most gifted of the Celestial Court's core members, yet she had progressed the furthest. Talent was not everything in cultivation. She was also thoughtful and dependable, which made her the right person to manage the Celestial Court.
Zhu Qingyu hesitated, but ultimately said nothing and nodded. After giving a few further instructions, Lu Yuan dismissed everyone.
Soon, only Jiang Ningxian, Jiang Huanyun, and Lu Yuan remained on Jade Emperor Peak.
"Are you confident you can deal with the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons?" Jiang Huanyun asked. He no longer spoke to Lu Yuan as an elder addressing a junior. The Extracosmic Heavenly Demons heralded a great calamity, and Jiang Huanyun's concern outweighed everything else.
"I will do everything I can."
Lu Yuan considered the question before continuing, "Senior, I need to ask something of you. Every Teleportation Dao Platform around the Milky Way Starfield has been destroyed, making it difficult to spread word of what is happening here. I need you to make the journey yourself."
He would not have made this decision before. With the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons watching them, traveling through space should have been extremely dangerous, and a single misstep could have ended in disaster. However, now that their attention was fixed on Earth and the Milky Way Starfield, the wider cosmos might be safer.
Lu Yuan wanted Jiang Huanyun to carry the news into the cosmos and request aid. He knew he might not be able to resolve the coming crisis alone. If they hoped to protect as many people as possible, they needed the support of more powerful experts.
"I understand what you mean. Rest assured."
Jiang Huanyun had already considered doing the same. Now that Lu Yuan had asked, he agreed without hesitation and prepared to leave at once.
After Lu Yuan briefed him on Earth's current situation, Jiang Huanyun left for space.
With Jiang Ningxian back, the remaining Jiang Clan members would be fine without him.
"I did not expect the situation to have already become this severe."
Jiang Ningxian watched him depart, then said thoughtfully, "You have wiped out the upper ranks of the Ji Clan and the Eternals on Earth. Those two factions will not let this rest.
"Especially those two Starfield Lords. I doubt they will remain hidden much longer, and we do not know what realm they have reached. They may be extremely dangerous."
Her expression was grave. Her father had suffered a serious defeat and been wounded when he fought those two in the past. According to him, the two Starfield Lords might already be close to surpassing the Supreme Immortal Realm. If they came for Lu Yuan, what would happen?
Her concern was obvious, but Lu Yuan merely chuckled. Matters had already reached this point, and worry would change nothing. There was no choice but to fight.
