Chapter 799: Chapter 539: Divine Spirit’s Ruins Beneath the Unfrozen Lake

Just then, Mage Morpheus, who had been observing the flow of energy within the Barrier, suddenly smiled.

"Who said we have to break it?"

His words caught everyone’s attention.

"Morpheus, you have a way?" Wendel immediately pressed.

"This Barrier is indeed a perfect, self-circulating body of energy."

Mage Morpheus pointed to the flowing points of light below, his eyes glinting with confidence.

"Attacking it on an energy level is indeed a fool’s dream."

"However..."

His tone shifted.

"No matter how perfect it is, it only exists within this ’space.’"

"And as long as it’s a space, it has coordinates and boundaries."

Mage Morpheus held out his hand, and a silver Space Magic Ball appeared in his palm once more.

"I don’t need to break it."

"I can try... to open a ’path’ on this Barrier, a ’path’ that doesn’t belong to this space, leading directly to the other side."

The eyes of Wendel and Mage Delin lit up instantly.

A spatial passage!

Bypassing the Barrier’s defenses and using Space Travel directly!

This was indeed the only viable method!

"That won’t be easy," Mage Delin cautioned.

"This Barrier is already a Twisted Space. Trying to pinpoint the coordinates on the other side will be difficult. The slightest mistake could send us into unknown spatial turbulence."

"Don’t worry."

"I’ve just scouted it out. This Barrier has likely existed for several thousand years. After so long, even the most robust barrier will develop flaws from the erosion of time."

A corner of Mage Morpheus’s mouth lifted.

"In the Domain of space, I don’t believe I’ll lose to the one who created this Barrier."

With that, he wasted no more words.

He closed his eyes. A vast Spiritual Power spread out like invisible tentacles, beginning to analyze the spatial parameters of the Barrier below.

The Space Magic Ball in his hand grew brighter and brighter, its silver radiance bathing him in a godlike light.

Raylo and Wendel watched him nervously, not daring to even breathe.

Mage Delin, meanwhile, reinforced the Starlight Shield and stood guard, watching their surroundings to protect Morpheus.

Time passed, one second at a time.

Ten minutes.

To Raylo, those ten minutes felt longer than the entire battle that preceded them.

Every second at the bottom of this lake was an agony.

Suddenly!

Mage Morpheus’s eyes shot open!

The silver light in his eyes was terrifyingly bright!

"Found it!"

He let out a low shout, and the Space Magic Ball in his hand erupted with unprecedented brilliance!

"Space... Sever!"

Facing the massive Barrier below, he slashed through the air!

An infinitesimally fine silver thread appeared out of thin air!

The next second.

The silver thread was yanked apart to both sides!

TZZT!

A silent rift appeared on the surface of the unchanging, ancient membrane of light!

The Barrier hadn’t been torn.

Instead, space itself had been forcibly ripped open!

Inside the rift was not the scene on the other side of the Barrier, but a deep, chaotic void, interspersed with countless streams of colored light.

An oval-shaped passage, about three meters wide and five meters high, appeared out of nowhere, like a silver picture frame embedded in the Barrier.

At the other end of the passage, a completely different scene could be vaguely glimpsed.

"Quick!"

Beads of sweat dotted Mage Morpheus’s forehead. Clearly, maintaining this passage was consuming an immense amount of his energy.

"The passage won’t last long!"

Without hesitation, Mage Delin controlled the Starlight Shield and was the first to charge into the spatial rift.

Raylo’s vision blurred.

A dizzying, tearing sensation washed over him.

The process lasted only an instant.

The next second.

He felt solid ground beneath his feet.

The Starlight Shield dissipated.

When Raylo saw the scene before him, he froze completely, his breath catching in his throat.

They had successfully passed through the Barrier.

There was no water here.

No pressure.

No sky.

Above them, the inverted, vast membrane of the Barrier shimmered like a sea of stars, its eternal glow forming the "sky" of this space.

And beneath their feet was a boundless plaza paved with some kind of pure white stone.

Upon the plaza stood magnificent structures.

These buildings were not palaces or towers.

Their forms were archaic and bizarre, filled with a non-human design sensibility, their surfaces inscribed with enormous, faintly glowing runes.

The air was filled with an aura of energy so pure that just taking a single breath made Raylo feel his Magic Power begin to boil.

Everything here exuded an ancient, sacred aura.

It was as if it had been forgotten by time for hundreds of millions of years.

"This place..."

Mage Wendel gazed up at the magnificent buildings, his face a mask of disbelief.

"It’s the kingdom of a Divine Spirit..." Mage Delin uttered slowly.

"No," Mage Morpheus said.

"This isn’t a Divine Kingdom."

"It is... the former residence of a certain Divine Spirit."

Raylo raised his head and looked around once more.

Above was the vast, star-like Barrier, its slowly flowing points of light forming the firmament of this independent space.

Below was an immense plaza paved with a pure white, unknown stone.

The plaza was as smooth as a mirror and stretched as far as the eye could see.

The air was saturated with exquisitely pure energy.

After just a few breaths, Raylo felt the Magic Power in his body begin to stir and boil uncontrollably, like a parched traveler discovering a sweet spring.

GULP.

Mage Wendel also swallowed hard.

"This... The energy concentration here is just absurd."

As a Legendary Mage, he had seen countless blessed lands, but none could compare to this place.

’A year of cultivation here would probably be more effective than ten years of arduous training in the outside world.’

Mage Delin said nothing.

He slowly extended a hand, feeling the air flowing through this space.

Raylo’s gaze finally shifted from the magnificent, bizarre buildings to the very center of the plaza.

There, stood a massive statue.

No.

Or rather, the ruins of a statue.

The statue was mostly destroyed, with only a base and lower body, roughly a hundred meters tall, remaining.

Even this remnant was like a small mountain, casting a huge shadow that blanketed a corner of the plaza.

One could only imagine how magnificent and spectacular it must have been when it was whole.

Countless enormous white stone fragments were scattered on the ground.

They were the shattered remains of the statue’s upper body.

Most of the fragments were severely weathered, their edges blurred, their original shapes unrecognizable.

But the outlines of a few huge pieces of debris could still be faintly discerned.

It seemed to be... a hand.

A shattered palm. A single broken knuckle was taller than Raylo himself.

There was also a curved arc, like a fragment of an arm.

’What exactly did this statue depict?’

’The Divine Spirit itself?’

’Or some powerful mythological creature?’

Raylo’s mind was filled with questions.

Everything here was shrouded in mystery and the unknown.

"Let’s go down and take a look."

Mage Delin’s voice broke the silence.

He was the first to fly down toward the pure white plaza below.

Raylo, Wendel, and Morpheus—who had caught his breath—followed close behind.

The four of them slowly descended.

The moment his feet touched the pure white stone, Raylo felt a cool, solid sensation travel up from the soles of his feet.

This ground, scoured by time for who knows how many tens of thousands of years, was still as smooth as new, without a single speck of dust.

Standing on this vast plaza and gazing up at the ruined, colossal statue, a sense of insignificance welled up within him.

It was as if he were a tiny, insignificant ant that had stumbled into a forgotten kingdom of Giants.

Mage Delin wasted no time.

He closed his eyes, and an invisible, ocean-like Spiritual Power instantly swept out from him as the center!

The Spiritual Power, like a boundless net, swept across the plaza, through the buildings, and into every corner of this space.

He was investigating.

Searching for the true objective of their trip.

Wendel and Morpheus remained vigilant, flanking Mage Delin to his left and right.

Although this place seemed dead and silent, no one knew if any unknown dangers still lurked within.
