Chapter 740: Chapter 512: The Crimson Bloodline’s Werewolf Legion

Stepping out of the Lord’s Mansion, the warmth within the castle seemed completely shut out by the winter cold.

Raylo stepped out of the Lord’s Mansion and onto the spacious plaza.

The winter sunlight was pale and weak, offering little warmth as it fell upon him.

The three little companions were huddled together, sprawled lazily on the steps at the edge of the plaza to sunbathe.

Upon seeing Raylo emerge, Moonlight lazily lifted an eyelid, rolled over, and went back to its nap.

Coal Ball peeked out. Seeing Raylo, it tried to run over but was pinned down by one of Moonlight’s paws.

"Time to go, little ones."

Raylo smiled.

"This time, we’re off to the west to meet some Vampires and Werewolves."

At Raylo’s summons, Moonlight finally sat up, gave a huge stretch, and then, along with Coal Ball and Lightning, leaped from the steps to pounce into Raylo’s arms.

Raylo reached out, grabbed the pouncing Blue Cat, Lightning, by its little stomach, and tossed it forward.

The moment Lightning landed, the air suddenly erupted with a dense crackling of electrical arcs, like the sound of popping beans!

"CRACKLE! SIZZLE!"

A blinding flash of electricity erupted from its small body!

Amidst the flashing light, Lightning’s body began to rapidly expand and lengthen!

In just a few breaths, the lazy Blue Cat had transformed into a Thunder Dragon nearly a hundred meters long, its body radiating a terrifying Dragon Mighty!

Raylo leaped up, landing lightly on Lightning’s broad back.

"Destination: Amber Territory."

"ROAR!"

The Thunder Dragon let out a sky-shattering roar in response.

It launched itself with its powerful limbs, its massive body soaring into the sky and kicking up a ferocious wind.

Just as Lightning took to the sky, about to become a bolt of light and vanish over the horizon...

...a loud, piercing cry suddenly rang out from the northern sky.

"SKREEE!"

The sound pierced the clouds and could shatter stone, filled with a kingly authority.

Raylo whipped his head up, looking in the direction of the sound.

On the northern horizon, a familiar yellowish-brown figure was flying toward Black Stone City at astonishing speed.

It was Baofeng!

And behind Baofeng followed a great flock of Griffins.

A rough count showed twenty to thirty of them.

They flew in a neat formation, following closely behind Baofeng.

Raylo chuckled. Baofeng had been away from Black Stone City for some time; it seemed he had successfully subjugated some of the Griffin flocks in the Black Stone Mountain Range and brought them back to the Black Stone Territory.

Raylo didn’t pay it much mind. With Ed holding down the fort, he would naturally handle the Griffins Baofeng had brought back; there was no need for Raylo to manage it himself.

He patted Lightning’s neck.

"Let’s go."

"ROAR!"

Lightning roared again. With a mighty flap of its huge Dragon Wings, it became a bolt of blue lightning that tore through the clouds, racing toward the western horizon.

The wind howled in his ears.

The scenery below rushed past, and the continuous Black Stone Mountain Range was soon left far behind.

Raylo stood atop the dragon’s back, his robes whipping in the wind.

「About half an hour later.」

Amber Castle appeared at the edge of the horizon.

Raylo didn’t stop.

Lightning’s form shot past, a streak of light passing over Amber Castle as it continued west.

Beyond Amber Castle, the terrain began to change noticeably.

The flat fields gradually gave way to rolling hills and dense forests.

The land here was no longer as fertile, and settlements grew sparse. A wild, grim aura began to permeate the air.

This was the border of the Amber Territory.

A small, unassuming river snaked across the land like a silver ribbon, forming the natural border between the Duchy and the Northwest Wilderness.

The atmosphere on the two banks of the river was starkly different.

On the East Shore was the camp of the Thunder Dragon Duchy.

Military tents stood in neat rows, their banners fluttering in the cold wind.

The West Shore, however, was another scene entirely.

A vast stretch of forest had been clear-cut, exposing the bare earth.

A huge and crude encampment, like an ugly tumor, sprawled along the riverbank.

Countless Werewolves moved in and out of the camp.

These Werewolves were generally a head taller than humans, their bodies more robust and muscular. Covered in gray-black or brownish-yellow fur, they exuded an aura of wild savagery.

At that moment, sporadic skirmishes were constantly breaking out in the shallows and the river valley between the two shores.

A small squad of Werewolves roared as they charged across the shallows, attempting to breach the Duchy’s line of defense, but they were quickly driven back by Knights who stood ready with Long Spears and Shields.

Arrows crisscrossed in the air, the light of Magic flared intermittently, and the sounds of battle cries and Wailing rose and fell along this desolate border.

Raylo’s eyes were cold.

He could tell that this level of conflict was more of a war of attrition, a way of probing.

The Crimson Bloodline was using this method to test the Duchy’s limits and reaction.

His gaze passed over the soldiers locked in combat, focusing directly on the massive Werewolf camp on the opposite bank.

His Spiritual Power spread out like a vast, invisible net, covering the camp.

The scale of the camp was far greater than he had imagined.

Tens of thousands of Werewolves were packed inside, as dense as an ant colony.

In the deepest part of the camp, Raylo sensed several exceptionally powerful auras.

Three of them had already reached the Domain Level!

They were like three torches lit in the darkness, radiating waves of tyranny, bloodlust, and chaos.

"Lightning."

"Are you ready?"

Raylo patted Lightning’s neck.
