Chapter 733: Chapter 509: The Announcing Death Angel Army, the Main Culprit of the World’s Destruction
VMMM!
Hundreds of Mage Towers erupted in brilliant light at the same instant!
Thick pillars of Magic Power shot skyward from their peaks, rapidly weaving together high above the city. They converged to form a colossal Magic Shield that enveloped everything.
However, the very instant the Magic Shield finished forming...
...the sky seemed to tear apart.
One, two, ten, a hundred...
Hundreds of "Suns," radiating a blinding golden light, materialized out of thin air!
Within those "Suns," towering figures, each with Six Wings sprouting from their backs, slowly became visible!
Angels of Death!
Hundreds of Angels of Death!
Their faces were expressionless, their gazes cold and indifferent. Like gods passing judgment upon the mortal realm, they looked down on the city below, which in their eyes was nothing more than an anthill.
The hundreds of Six-winged Angels of Death slowly raised the Light Sabers in their hands.
Then, with a gentle swing, they struck down at the Magic Shield below.
A hundred golden blades of light, each a thousand meters long and seemingly capable of splitting the heavens and the earth, descended from the sky!
BOOM!
Before the hundred golden blades of light, the supposedly indestructible Magic Shield trembled violently, its surface instantly covered in a spiderweb of cracks!
"No!"
Countless desperate shrieks echoed from within the city.
Inside the Mage Towers, the Mages maintaining the Arrays each spat out mouthfuls of blood, their faces turning deathly pale.
However, this was only the beginning.
The hundreds of Angels of Death raised their Light Sabers once more!
A hundred more golden blades of light descended like the final judgment of doomsday!
RUUUUMBLE!
This time, the Magic Shield could hold no longer.
With a sickening, grinding shatter, it exploded!
It disintegrated into a shower of light motes that dissipated into the air.
Having lost its final barrier, the Sky City was left completely exposed to the butchering blades of the hundred Angels of Death.
"For Aofa! For glory!"
"We’ll fight these bastards to the death!"
From within the city, countless Mages and countless Knights let out their final, furious roars.
Fearless in the face of death, they charged toward the heavens.
Streams of brilliant Magic, like moths surging toward a flame, flew toward the hundred golden "Suns."
However, in the face of absolute Power, all resistance seemed so pale, so... laughable.
The slaughter began.
The hundreds of Angels of Death descended upon the city like tigers into a flock of sheep.
With every flash of golden light from their blades, hundreds, even thousands, of lives were extinguished.
The magnificent buildings, as fragile as paper mache under their assault, were effortlessly destroyed, collapsing one after another.
The Mages fought back with their very lives, using their own flesh and blood to defend their home.
But facing these hundred terrifying, Catastrophe Level beings, all their efforts were... like throwing an egg against a rock.
The vision from the Time Travel continued to unfold.
It was... a one-sided massacre.
Sky City Atos, the shining pearl that once represented the pinnacle of the entire world’s Magic Civilization, had now been utterly transformed into a living Purgatory.
Golden flames burned in every corner of the city.
This was no ordinary Flame. It was the Flame of Judgment, imbued with Divine Power. Anything it touched, whether Solid rock or living flesh, was instantly purified into primordial particles, leaving not even ash behind.
The grand Mage Towers collapsed one after another, turning into piles of burning rubble amid heaven-shaking roars.
The wide streets were already paved with blood and corpses.
Countless civilians screamed in despair and fled in terror.
But where could they possibly run?
Before these "Divine Messengers" who descended from the heavens, the entire city had become a massive, inescapable slaughterhouse.
At some point, Raylo’s fists had clenched so tightly that his nails dug deep into his palms. A sharp, stinging pain followed, but he didn’t even notice.
His eyes were glued to the scene before him, his black pupils reflecting the towering inferno and the countless figures of despair.
He saw a white-haired Elder Mage, after exhausting his last wisp of Magic Power, resolutely detonate his own Mage Tower in an attempt to take the invading Angel of Death down with him.
A massive mushroom cloud rose from a corner of the city, and the violent storm of energy flattened everything in the vicinity.
But just a few breaths later, the figure of that Angel of Death emerged from the center of the explosion, completely unscathed.
Raylo saw a young Knight let out a roar of grief and fury after his mount was sliced in two by a blade of light. Clutching a Broken Sword, he charged fearlessly toward the sky.
Then, a casual swing of a light blade vaporized him, armor and all, into a fine mist of blood.
He also saw countless mothers holding their children tight, using their own fragile bodies to shield them from the death raining down from above.
And then, they were purified together by the golden flames, completely erased from this world.
Throwing an egg against a rock.
That phrase was no longer enough to describe the cruelty of this war.
This was... a bloody massacre.
One after another, vibrant lives vanished before Raylo’s eyes.
One after another, faces of despair were seared into his mind, refusing to fade.
His breathing grew more and more rapid. It felt as if a massive boulder was crushing his chest, leaving him unable to breathe.
