Chapter 728: Chapter 506: The Mindless "Happy Divine Kingdom

"A civil war?"

Mage Wendel asked.

"War has already broken out between the Light Holy See and the Dragon Realm. A war that will embroil the entire Continent is now inevitable."

"We should seize this opportunity to join forces with the Dragon Realm and completely eradicate the Light Holy See from our world."

As soon as Wendel finished speaking, several Legendary Mages voiced their approval.

"It was about... over a hundred years ago."

"I once traveled through a spatial rift I discovered by chance and visited a... very peculiar plane."

"That plane was completely different from ours, and also from the world of the ’Heart of Arcane’ that Raylo described. There was no Magic, no Fighting Spirit, and its technology was in a very primitive stage."

"However, that world was ruled by a single, supreme Divine Authority."

"And the only god they believed in..."

Morpheus’s voice paused, as if he were recalling a scene that made him extremely uncomfortable.

"...called himself the ’Child of Light’."

The Child of Light!

Raylo’s heart skipped a beat!

"That world... What happened to it?" he couldn’t help but ask.

Morpheus fell silent for a moment, seeming to gather his thoughts.

"That world... was very ’peaceful’," he said slowly. "There was no war, no hunger, no sin. Everyone lived in a state of... extreme ’happiness’."

"There was only one thing they had to do every day."

"Pray."

"From birth to death, they were constantly offering their most devout prayers to that ’Child of Light’."

"Their faces always wore... fanatical and contented smiles. I can’t forget those smiles to this day."

Morpheus’s voice became somewhat distant.

"At first, I also thought I had arrived in a legendary paradise, a Divine Kingdom."

"Until... I tried to communicate with one of the local residents."

"I discovered that they... no longer had a ’self’."

"Their thoughts, their emotions, their will... everything had been ’formatted’. Their minds could hold nothing but a fanatical worship for the ’Child of Light’."

"They were no longer ’human’."

Morpheus’s voice turned cold and dry.

"They were just a group of... living dolls."

"A group of tools that existed solely to provide ’faith’."

"That world was a massive, enclosed ’ranch’. And all its living beings were... livestock, raised by that ’Child of Light’!"

"I stayed in that world for less than a day before I fled in a panic."

Morpheus’s words left everyone with looks of horror on their faces.

A world where everyone only prayed, had no sense of self, and lived like dolls.

A terrifying Divine Kingdom that used an entire world as a ranch and all its creatures as livestock.

This image was far more chilling than direct destruction and war!

And was their own world already following in this ’Divine Kingdom’s’ wake?

"I understand..."

Mage Delin said.

"The Child of Light is the Light Deity’s... avatar, used to ’shepherd’ worlds!"

"Or, perhaps, a ’scout’!"

"It wanders between infinite planes, searching for weak worlds with faltering wills. Then, using the seemingly gentle method of ’faith’, it enslaves them, transforming them into a ’ranch’ dedicated to providing it with the Power of the World!"

"And as for those proud worlds that refuse to be ’shepherded’, like the ’Heart of Arcane’..."

Mage Delin didn’t finish his sentence.

But everyone knew what he wanted to say.

What awaited those worlds was the descent of the Light Deity itself, and... the most thorough destruction and plunder!

A terrifying ’ranch’ project conceived by a Divine Spirit, one that spanned countless worlds, had just revealed the most monstrous and horrifying tip of its iceberg to them all.

"We... we must go to that Doomsday World and take another look!"

"There must be more secrets hidden there, about the Light Deity, about the Child of Light!"

"We must find them!"

His proposal was met with immediate agreement from everyone.

"That’s right! We have to go!"

"’Know the enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles without defeat!’ We still know too little about that thing!"

Watching the agitated Legendary Mages, Raylo also nodded firmly.

"I agree."

"Good."

A decisive glint flashed in Mage Delin’s eyes.

"Then let’s set out now."

The group walked over to the spatial rift nearby.

"Let’s go."

Raylo took a deep breath and was the first to step into the unknown void.

The eleven Legendary Mages followed close behind.

...

When he once again felt solid ground beneath his feet, Raylo steadied himself and immediately scanned his surroundings.

They were still standing on the same barren, greyish-brown, rocky ground.

The sky was dim, with no Sun, no moon, and no Stars.

The only light source came from the distant remnants of continents floating in the void, still burning with embers.

This was still that same world of death.

"BLEGH..."

This time, there were a few "newcomers" in the group.

Space Traveler Morpheus was the first to cross over. He stood there calmly, tilting his head back to quietly observe this world.

"Alright, everyone."

Once everyone had arrived, Mage Delin’s voice rang out, drawing their attention.

"We’re not here on a sightseeing trip."

"Since we’re here, let’s make the most of our time."

"Our goal is to find more clues about the ’Light Deity’ and the ’Child of Light’ and to figure out the entire process of their invasion of this world."

"This world is shattered, so the clues are likely scattered across different fragments of land. Relying on just a few of us to search piece by piece, like last time, is too inefficient."

Mage Delin glanced at Morpheus beside him.

"Morpheus, it’s your turn."

"Mm."

Space Traveler Morpheus nodded and extended a gaunt hand from beneath his black robes.

In his hand, he held a simple, ancient-looking Magic Staff made of some unknown black wood.

At the top of the Magic Staff was a black Crystal the size of a pigeon’s egg, so deep it seemed to absorb all light.

Morpheus tapped the Magic Staff lightly on the ground.

BUZZ!

An invisible yet vast and majestic Power of Space erupted from him as the center, spreading out like ripples in water!

Raylo could clearly feel that in that instant, the continent fragment beneath their feet, along with all the floating remnants of land of all sizes in the distant void, seemed to have been linked together by a giant, invisible net woven from the Law of Space!

"Space Waymark... established."

Morpheus’s hoarse voice slowly rang out.

"Next, I will ’sift’ through all the spatial fragments in this region."

"All areas that contain the aura of ’Divinity’ or the residue of powerful Magic will be marked."

As he spoke, the deep Crystal at the top of his black Magic Staff suddenly lit up!

Streams of Spatial Energy shot out from the Crystal, like living spirit snakes, instantly merging into the surrounding void and disappearing.

In that moment, the entire world seemed to transform into a giant sand table controlled by Morpheus.

And the floating continent fragments were the pieces on that table.

He was using his incredible Space Magic to perform a complete "shuffling" of the entire board!

Raylo watched from the side, his heart filled with shock.

’Is this... the true power of Space Traveler Morpheus?’

’To treat a shattered world as his own sand table and ’sift’ through it at will.’

’This kind of ability is beyond my understanding of ’Space Magic’. It’s practically... a Miracle!’
