Chapter 715: Chapter 500: Twelve Legends Gather in Black Stone Territory

Raylo looked toward Mage Delin and Mage Wendel.

Master Wendel shrugged, a helpless yet amused expression on his face.

"Don’t look at me," he said.

"Frank has always been like this."

"A classic academic fanatic. The more unsolvable a problem is, the more excited he gets. If he doesn’t figure it out, he’d probably drive himself crazy."

"As the Chief of the Tower of Truth in Mage City, he’s notorious among Casters all across the Continent for his obsessive nature."

Mage Delin chimed in with a smile, clarifying things for Raylo.

"He’s not wrong, though."

Mage Delin’s smile slowly faded. His gaze returned to the massive metal door, and his expression grew solemn.

"This puzzle Phillips left behind truly exceeds the scope of any single Domain of knowledge. It’s like an ultimate creation, an intricate combination of countless top-tier problems from different disciplines, all interlocked. To solve it, the few of us just aren’t enough."

Raylo nodded.

He finally understood why the two masters had gone to Mage City for help.

’So it’s not a single math problem,’ he thought. ’It’s more like an insanely difficult comprehensive exam covering every subject imaginable.’

’And Master Frank was the star student brought in to crack it, only to find the test was too hard. So he just ran out to grab the top students from all the other subjects.’

The analogy was a bit strange, but the logic held.

"So... how long do we have to wait?"

Raylo asked.

"It shouldn’t take too long."

Master Wendel stroked his beard.

"That old coot Frank is very well-connected in Mage City. He’ll be back in half a day at the most."

Half a day.

Rather than just sit and wait, Raylo stood up and walked over to the two masters.

"Is there anything I can do to help, Masters?"

"Help?"

Master Wendel looked him up and down and chuckled.

"We don’t need any help. Just staying out of our way is help enough. But... you’ve gotten a lot stronger recently, kiddo."

His gaze lingered on Raylo for a moment, and a flicker of surprise flashed in his cloudy old eyes.

"How long has it been? Your aura has already grown so much more substantial."

Mage Delin nodded as well.

"Just a bit of luck,"

Raylo said with a smile.

Just as the three of them were making small talk,

VMMMM!

The space in the center of the workshop’s clearing rippled once more.

A silver Space Array, identical to the previous one, appeared out of thin air and rapidly expanded.

A blinding light flashed, and several figures appeared in the center of the Array.

He didn’t have to wait half a day. It had been less than half an hour.

Master Frank, who had departed in a hurry, returned with two of his friends.

Behind him stood two other Elder Mages of about his age.

The one on the left was tall and powerfully built, a stark contrast to the typically frail physique of a Mage.

He wore a dark red Mage Robe, embroidered with patterns of flames and storms in gold thread.

His hair and beard bristled like a lion’s mane. With every blink of his eyes, it seemed as if molten lava flowed within them. Violent Elements swirled around him, making the surrounding air scorching and dry.

The one on the right was a stark contrast to him.

He was gaunt, dressed in a plain, pure black Mage Robe, completely unadorned.

He stood there silently, like a human-shaped shadow, exuding a distorted, illusory, and not-quite-real aura.

The space around him seemed to be gently folding and pulsating at an imperceptible frequency.

"Ahem..."

Master Frank cleared his throat, breaking the silence in the workshop.

His wrinkled face held a trace of undisguised smugness.

He pointed to the burly, red-robed Mage and introduced him.

"This is Gregory, known by the title ’Elemental Tyrant.’ Back in our day, if you had to say who understood Elemental Magic down to its very source, it would be him. More Alien Races and Demons have died to his ’Doomsday Judgment’ than all the living people you’ve ever met."

A chill went down Raylo’s spine.

’Elemental Tyrant Gregory.’

He had read that name many times in the history books of the Continent.

The legendary figure from three hundred years ago, who, during the Battle of Frost Cold against the northern Icefield Beastman invasion, had single-handedly summoned a Meteor Fire Rain to incinerate their one-hundred-thousand-strong vanguard!

’To think this legendary Slaying Deity was actually still alive.’

Master Frank then pointed to the silent, black-robed Mage, a hint of admiration in his tone.

"And this is Morpheus, the ’Space Traveler’."

"He’s the most mysterious one among us. No one knows how many planes he’s traveled to, nor how many bizarre forms of Space Magic he’s mastered. The Rainbow Bridge in Mage City, which spans three pocket dimensions, was his creation."

’Space Traveler Morpheus!’

Raylo’s pupils contracted sharply once more.

’The Rainbow Bridge!’

’That was one of the Miracle Creations of Mage City!’

’A magnificent structure that truly connected different worlds!’

’Both of them... they were living Legends!’

Suppressing his shock, Raylo quickly stepped forward and bowed respectfully to the three newly arrived Legendary Mages.

"My name is Raylo. It is an honor to meet you, Masters."

"Mm."

Elemental Tyrant Gregory merely let out a low grunt from his nose in response.

As for Space Traveler Morpheus, he simply gave Raylo a slight nod in acknowledgment.
