Getting Stronger By Fighting

Chapter 1167 - 1165: Already Arranged

In the blink of an eye, footsteps were heard outside the door, and Wang Zhan’s gaze already turned toward the entrance.

Even before Sword Spirit arrived, Wang Zhan had already sensed his presence. After all, the two had long been very familiar with each other, so they understood one another well; just the other’s presence nearby was enough to sense his aura fluctuations.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and Sword Spirit walked in slowly from outside, a helpless smile tugging at his lips as he gazed at Wang Zhan for a while, his eyes gradually growing more moist.

At his level of power, he could naturally tell at a glance that Wang Zhan was gravely injured, and that the situation was much worse than he imagined.

Sword Spirit clenched his fists tightly. After taking a quick stride to Wang Zhan’s side, he directly embraced him and started crying loudly.

This made Wang Zhan feel somewhat embarrassed. It was the first time he saw Sword Spirit like this.

Wang Zhan coughed awkwardly a few times and then spoke, "Don’t worry, it’s just a flesh wound, not serious. Give me some time, and I can recover."

"So my current cultivation has suffered some impact, but I’ve sealed all my cultivation within the Absolute Heaven’s Sword. Once my body heals, I believe the Hexagonal Golden Snake will find a way to restore my strength to its peak, so there’s no need to worry too much. And neither should you..."

Seeing Sword Spirit’s grief, Wang Zhan’s heart felt uneasy as well. After hesitating for a moment, he shook his head and spoke slowly, "Since you’re here, I might as well ask about the goings-on inside Sky Pavilion. I haven’t been back there for a while, so I’m not sure what it’s like now. Is everyone behaving?"

Sword Spirit hesitated for a moment but then nodded and said, "Your priority now is to heal your injuries. Don’t worry about Sky Pavilion; I’ve arranged everything. When you return, there will be no issues."

Sword Spirit was indeed very reliable in his affairs, allowing Wang Zhan to feel at ease.

Although he and Fire Qilin had similar power, a significant gap remained between them.

Sword Spirit then spoke again, "What exactly happened? How did you get so gravely injured?"

With Hexagonal Golden Snake and Fire Qilin at Wang Zhan’s side, and with Wang Zhan himself not being weak, even facing a supreme expert, they could at least retreat safely. But things didn’t seem so simple now.

Mentioning this, a wry smile appeared on Wang Zhan’s face as he shook his head, continuing, "It’s a long story."

"The opponent we encountered was far stronger than we imagined. Even with all of us teaming up, we were no match. I had to use the Absolute Heaven’s Sword to break through his defenses and find a strategy!"

"But that guy was much stronger than me. What seemed simple almost cost me my life. Thankfully, Hexagonal Golden Snake and Fire Qilin were with me, preventing things from getting worse."

Speaking to the end, a wry smile appeared again on Wang Zhan’s face.

For so many years, since arriving on the Star War Battlefield, he had never been so embarrassed. This was the first time, but he was confident it would also be the last.

In the coming time, he would dedicate himself to enhancing his cultivation, ensuring he wouldn’t hold back those around him again.

This time was truly a near-death experience; without Hexagonal Golden Snake and Fire Qilin’s presence, he would have perished.

Sword Spirit’s eyes moistened further; though he hadn’t witnessed the battle, he knew it couldn’t have been as effortless as Wang Zhan claimed. He had seen Hexagonal Golden Snake’s strength, which was beyond imagination. And with Fire Qilin assisting and the Absolute Heaven’s Sword enhancing Wang Zhan’s strength, it was clear how formidable the opponent was to hurt Wang Zhan so severely.

Sword Spirit hesitated, then said, "No matter where you plan to go, I’ll always stay by your side, ensuring this doesn’t happen again. It was too horrible, and I even feel some pain..."

"If I were by your side, how could I let you end up like this?"

Wang Zhan understood Sword Spirit’s intentions.

Sword Spirit’s strength was much less than Fire Qilin’s. If Fire Qilin couldn’t rescue him, how could Sword Spirit?

Sword Spirit’s goal was clear: to shield him in a critical moment. But Wang Zhan’s mind suddenly thought of Xiang Tian. Wasn’t Xiang Tian like that? Precisely because of Xiang Tian, Wang Zhan felt immense pain. Thinking of it now still hurt.

Xiang Tian was far less powerful than him, but in that critical moment, Xiang Tian didn’t retreat, which moved Wang Zhan deeply. Even a brother couldn’t do more.

Back then, Wang Zhan stood in front of Xiang Tian and Luo Xue, as he was much stronger. But Xiang Tian did much more, knowing that standing before Wang Zhan meant only one outcome: a dead end.

Yet, Xiang Tian never retreated, standing resolutely before Wang Zhan, which saddened him most.

But since it already happened, nothing could change it now.

Wang Zhan sighed, looking at Sword Spirit beside him, then spoke slowly, "This must never happen again. I won’t let you stand by my side. I’ll find ways to enhance my cultivation, becoming a top expert!"

Sword Spirit nodded, unconditionally trusting Wang Zhan.

Sword Spirit didn’t continue the topic, sensing Wang Zhan wasn’t in a great mindset, even his face showing distress, likely recalling sad events.

Sword Spirit hesitated, then shifted the topic, asking, "Did the Hexagonal Golden Snake say how long it’ll take for you to fully recover? You look like all your meridians are broken, and your cultivation is damaged. Recovery won’t be easy, right?"

Wang Zhan didn’t hide anything, nodded, and said slowly, "Not sure yet. But with my physique, I believe this state won’t last long and I’ll recover soon."

"In the meantime, I might need to stay in Ten Thousand Sword City to recuperate. You should return to Sky Pavilion. With no expert to oversee now, I’ve heard factions nearby are eyeing us. If you leave now, I’m worried everyone in Sky Pavilion may face danger."

Wang Zhan had only a few strong allies, and though Sky Pavilion had experts, the gap to true experts was large.

Considering this, Wang Zhan needed proper arrangements.

His comrades in Sky Pavilion relied on trust, so Wang Zhan couldn’t let them down. Proper arrangements in Sky Pavilion were necessary lest any unexpected situation arose, making it hard to explain to the people there.

Sword Spirit shook his head, a slight smile at his lips, then spoke slowly, "I know Sky Pavilion’s situation, but I know one thing: as long as my presence is known outside, they won’t act hastily. So, a barrier is set, and they can always sense my aura."

"As long as they sense this aura, they won’t dare provoke us!"

Wang Zhan nodded with satisfaction, giving Sword Spirit a thumbs-up. Sword Spirit thought everything through, in control of every situation. Having him around eased Wang Zhan’s burdens greatly.

Sword Spirit patted Wang Zhan’s shoulder, then said again, "Alright, focus on healing. Leave the rest to me."
