Chapter 443: Chapter 443: Neuvillette: “Two Furinas? Three Complete Authorities of the Hydro Dragon?”

After reclaiming his complete authority as the Hydro Dragon, Neuvillette’s injuries naturally healed.

This was, after all, the power that originally belonged to the Dragon.

The first thing he did after recovering was return to the Palais Mermonia.

He had been absent for several days, so there were probably quite a few matters piling up that hadn’t been dealt with.

However, the moment he reached the entrance of the Palais Mermonia, he sensed two other identical powers inside.

Why were there other Elemental Dragons in Fontaine?

And they seemed to be Hydro Dragons of the same kind...

The authority of a Dragon Sovereign could not be faked!

Carrying his doubts with him, he walked inside.

He soon discovered Furina’s other self handling his paperwork.

Meanwhile, Furina herself was sitting on the sofa, eating snacks and listening to music.

Neuvillette: "..."

Why had Furina split herself in two as well?

And why were both of them radiating the same complete authority that he possessed?

"Thank goodness... you’re finally back."

Seeing Neuvillette enter, Focalors was visibly relieved.

There was far too much work here.

It was a good thing that the little scoundrel had brought the Hydro Dragon back.

If Furina had been left to deal with all these matters, she probably would have completely broken down before making it through five hundred years.

"You... what’s going on here?"

The two Furinas in the room left him utterly confused.

And the two identical powers only deepened his bewilderment.

Why had the authority of the Dragon Sovereign suddenly become so cheap after he recovered?

There were three of them now?

"Some things can be explained later, but could you please deal with all this work first?"

Focalors had spent five hundred years inside the Oratrice Mécanique d’Analyse Cardinale.

She was practically going insane from being cooped up there.

All she wanted now was to go outside and take a proper walk.

Since Furina didn’t want to leave, Focalors could go out on her own without causing any confusion.

And so Neuvillette was pushed straight back into his position at the desk.

"Furina..."

The Furina on the sofa looked over.

"What exactly is going on here?"

How could he possibly focus on work right now?

If they didn’t explain everything, he probably wouldn’t be able to finish a single day’s work.

"Just think of the Hydro Archon as twins."

Both Furina and Focalors possessed their own thoughts and personalities.

In essence, they had once been one person.

But ever since Furina’s birth, it was more appropriate to regard them as two separate individuals.

"But the authority you’re carrying..."

Why were there three complete copies of the Hydro Dragon’s authority now?

Neuvillette couldn’t understand it.

His own power was unmistakable.

If even an Elemental Dragon couldn’t distinguish his own authority, then what kind of Elemental Dragon would he be?

"That little genius copied it from the incomplete authority."

"You wouldn’t be angry, would you?"

Neuvillette fell silent.

Angry...

Should he be angry?

The Genius had returned his power to him.

This wasn’t a matter of dividing his authority into three portions.

It had been completely duplicated.

"It’s just... a little difficult to accept."

What Neuvillette had always resented was the fact that his power had been taken by the Heavenly Principles.

That power had originally belonged to the Dragons.

Now that his authority had returned, what truly remained was his resentment toward that original usurpation.

He had worked alongside Furina for many years, and naturally had a good relationship with her.

He had practically raised her like a child.

How could he possibly harbor resentment toward Furina?

"You’re... not Furina?"

But soon, Neuvillette realized that the Furina standing before him wasn’t the Furina he knew.

"Not bad. You’re right."

"I’m not the Furina you know."

"But if you want to tell us apart, just call me Focalors. Think of me as your elder sister."

"...So you’re the real Focalors!"

Neuvillette finally understood.

Why had Furina never used the power of a god, despite carrying an aura that resembled a curse?

Everything...

Was this all the doing of her elder sister, Focalors?

"I think you owe me an explanation."

At this point, Neuvillette only wanted answers.

He had completely lost interest in working.

"But I want to go outside..."

Focalors stared longingly toward the door.

"Is there something important you need to do?"

Even though he wanted an explanation, Neuvillette was ultimately a tolerant person.

He was willing to let Focalors take care of her own affairs first and explain everything afterward.

"I haven’t been outside for five hundred years."

"I want to go out and have some fun."

Focalors answered honestly.

Just as Neuvillette had watched over Furina for five hundred years, she had also been watching Neuvillette for those same five hundred years.

"...I need an explanation right now!"

"Immediately!"

"Right this instant!"

Neuvillette had always been an understanding man.

But this time was different.

Focalors: Neuvillette... bad!

She could only suppress her anticipation and tell him everything she had been hiding.

After hearing about Focalors’ plan, Furina’s origins, and the prophecy, all of Neuvillette’s doubts and resentment gradually faded.

He looked at the silent Furina.

So she had been carrying all of this on her shoulders?

That truly had been too much for her.

One had stood at the forefront, shielding everything from suspicion and scrutiny.

The other had remained behind the scenes, silently waiting for the curtain to fall.

Both Furina and Focalors had endured immense suffering.

"Very well."

"I will consider your return of a portion of the Seven Authorities, as well as your voluntary restoration of the Hydro Authority, as grounds for reducing the sentence for your crime of usurpation."

"And as for the five hundred years of solitude... consider that time already served."

In the end, Neuvillette’s heart softened.

The usurpation of the Dragons’ authority could not simply be ignored.

But the sentence could be mitigated.

Focalors had voluntarily returned the Hydro Authority, demonstrating a sincere attitude toward acknowledging her crime.

She had also spent five hundred years imprisoned within the Oratrice while assisting with countless judgments.

There was indeed no need to impose any further punishment upon her.

"Then thank you, Hydro Dragon!"

Now that everything had been explained, Focalors was already preparing to leave.

"The Genius provided tremendous assistance in all of this."

"I hope that when you go out, you can bring him a token of my gratitude."

"As for the cost, the Palais Mermonia will reimburse you. I’ll approve it myself."

Neuvillette stopped her.

The moment Furina heard the words the Genius, she immediately became nervous.

This reaction puzzled Neuvillette.

Logically speaking, shouldn’t Furina have been conspiring with the Genius all along?

Yet the expression on her face didn’t look fake at all.
