Genshin Impact : Eerie Teyvat
Chapter 600: Forge an Ancient Name
On the way to the Sacred Flame Arena, while following Kachina, Su Yuan, Aether, and Paimon encountered many plants and animals unique to Natlan.
They also learned about a unique form of power in Natlan, known as “Phlogiston.”
But among everything they saw, the creature that caught Su Yuan’s attention the most was the Long-necked Rhino…
Its color and body shape resembled a giraffe, its head resembled a rhinoceros, yet its massive build resembled that of a brachiosaurus.
Su Yuan had no idea how such a creature came into being.
It was… quite the combination.
And Natlan itself felt like a fusion of many aesthetic styles—primitive tribes, street culture, dinosaur-era wildness—all mixed together into one vibrant tapestry.
“Hehe… I’m actually not very good at being a tour guide. If my explanations are lacking, please don’t mind…” Kachina said a bit sheepishly, scratching her head.
“If you really want a good guide in Natlan, then Sister Mualani from the Flowing Spring Tribe is definitely the best choice!”
“Sister Mualani is very warm-hearted, always smiling, and loves making friends… If there’s a chance, I must introduce you to her!”
Finally, after traveling for an entire morning, the group arrived near the Sacred Flame Arena at noon.
Su Yuan looked toward the arena.
Just as expected of an arena, it was grand and majestic, reminiscent of the Colosseum from his past world…
Natlan truly was a land of war.
And the Pyro Archon—undeniably, a god of war.
The architectural style fit perfectly.
But before coming to Natlan, Su Yuan had originally imagined the Pyro Archon to be a warmonger—someone who constantly launched invasions against surrounding nations, someone difficult to approach.
Yet after hearing Kachina’s words, it turned out the Pyro Archon was actually a gentle, kind, and intelligent elder sister figure…
And the so-called war was aimed against the Abyss—more of a defensive battle of protection than conquest.
The group followed Kachina to the entrance of the Sacred Flame Arena, where someone who recognized her greeted her:
“Well, if it isn’t Kachina! The Nightwatcher War will begin soon—are these the teammates who’ll be fighting alongside you?”
“What’s strange is… I don’t recognize them. And their clothing doesn’t look like anyone from your Children of Echoes tribe…”
“They’re not my teammates for the Nightwatcher War,” Kachina explained, “They’re travelers visiting Natlan from another land.”
“Ohhh, I see!” The man nodded and smiled at the group.
“Welcome to Natlan! My name is Bayajida, and I’m a volunteer here at the Sacred Flame Arena.”
“If you ever need help, feel free to come find me!”
Su Yuan answered his greeting with a smile.
This arena really did feel like the Olympics… it even had volunteers.
After saying their farewells, the group continued into the arena to search for Xilonen and the Pyro Archon.
“Kachina, what was that about a ‘team’ just now?” Paimon asked.
“When the Nightwatcher War begins, those who possess Ancient Names will lead teams into battle against the Abyss,” Kachina explained.
“Only by defeating the Abyss can we undergo the Ode of Resurrection and be revived…”
“Normally, the Rite can only revive those who hold an Ancient Name. But during the Nightwatcher War, we fight in squads.”
“As long as the team as a whole wins, then everyone who dies in that squad can be revived.”
“But… as you know, even though I somehow received the blessing of the Great Spirit and obtained my Ancient Name…”
“My strength isn’t exactly impressive. So… no one wants to join my team. I can understand why.”
“It’s okay! Su Yuan and the Traveler are really strong! If you team up with them, you’ll definitely be unstoppable!” Paimon said confidently.
“That won’t work, Paimon…” Kachina shook her head with a helpless smile.
“Teams can only be formed with Natlan citizens…”
“Ah… then that’s such a shame…” Paimon sighed.
But Su Yuan had already picked up on something important.
So… only those with an Ancient Name could be revived by the Ode of Resurrection, and only within the Nightwatcher War, and only if the team emerged victorious…
If one did not already possess an Ancient Name, then the only way to be revived was to join the squad of someone who did—live and die together, and only if the team achieved victory could revival be earned…
No wonder the intelligence prompts had guided him to obtain an Ancient Name first…
Could it be that without an Ancient Name, he wouldn’t be able to return from the Realm of the Night after dying?
The thought sent a chill through Su Yuan.
This morning, he had briefly considered that since his goal was to reach the Realm of the Night and awaken the information in his left palm, and since going there required death…
Maybe he should simply take the risk and die on purpose, going straight there.
But in the end, remembering that his death rewind ability was currently inactive, he had decided not to rush into anything.
So he abandoned the idea.
Even if all of this was only speculation, the unease still lingered in his chest.
Su Yuan took a deep breath.
The priority now was clear: find Xilonen, and have her attempt to forge his Ancient Name.
That was the safest path forward.
Soon after, under Kachina’s guidance, the group moved through the Sacred Flame Arena.
Before long, they arrived at Xilonen’s forge workshop—and successfully found her.
Xilonen looked exhausted, as if she had just finished packing her tools and was preparing to leave.
Seeing Kachina and the others, she showed a puzzled expression.
“Kachina? Why are you here?” she asked.
“And who are these people with you?”
“Hello, Miss Xilonen.” Su Yuan took a step forward, greeting her politely before speaking directly:
“My name is Su Yuan—’Su’ as in tiramisu, and ‘Yuan’ as in crumbling ruins.”
“I’ve come here today to ask for your help—to forge an Ancient Name of my own.”
